Xplane 12.10 beta 1 released
Baber20 replied to Baber20's topic in The X-Plane General Discussions Forum
The SIM looks visually gorgeous now. Way better anti aliasing. The new bloom looks pretty amazing too. -
Run your updaters. Release notes here https://www.x-plane.com/kb/x-plane-12-1-0-release-notes/

Wouldn't be surprised if he gets a snarky reply from the randazoo. You can expect the unexpected from the randazoo.

Inibuilds for me. Has equal systems depth compared to fbw and is more visually accurate exterior wise.

Why did the weather depiction change?
Baber20 replied to prolixindec's topic in Microsoft Flight Simulator (2020)
With their significantly upgraded graphics engine for MSFS2024, and with all the advances in machine learning, we might be seeing much better cloud tech in the upcoming sim. -
Ryzen 5800x3d, rtx4090, 32gigs ram TLOD 400, OLOD 200, DLAA Frame Gen On, Res 4k. Using Dlss and Frame Gen 3.7.

That's weird. I am getting much better performance in the latest beta.

Not only clouds but shading, global illumination, LOD, lighting, pretty much everything got downgraded after su5. Been using the SIM since tech alpha 1. I know what we had and what we lost on the way. They xboned us. You would get these crazy realistic weather patterns and every flight was screenshot worthy. But su7 destroyed that. Now its just Cumulus and more Cumulus. -
Seen it numerous times in default weather.

MSFS auto exposure system isn't that great either or I think is completely missing. The thing is, this was introduced in xplane 12 and was removed later due to a huge uproar of a select few because their cockpit was too dark when they looked outside. In reality this is how it should work and looked really good in xplane because the clouds can be as bright white as you want them to be but auto exposure would reduce the overblown highlights. There are just way too many things fundamentally wrong with MSFS. Like how did those ash clouds got past during the testing phase is beyond me. But seeing it's Asobos first attempt at developing a flight sim, Its a bit understandable. All hopes on MSFS 2024 now.

Those ash clouds are my single biggest gripe with this sim. They look absolutely terrible.
