July 3, 200322 yr Ryan,The odd thing is that if you select an Arrival, and the FMC creates an "RWxx" waypoint (the arrival runway) in the LEGS page, you can't move that particular WPT up (to delete something inbetween). It says "not in database". With regular waypoints this method of course works like a charm as it should.Tero PPL(A)
July 3, 200322 yr Ryan:Thank you for the response. Sounds like it was something everyone knew and I didn't, must have been hiding inside my 737-400 cockpit for too long hehehe.... Will look into it on my next flights.I still haven't got to the problem with the use of ILS created waypoint in flight plan as Tero metions, since ussually I get vectoring from ATC way before completing all the final waypoints of any STAR I manually insert into the FMC and setting the rest becomes a manual task from then on.Finally I read in another thread that the is no TCAS or IRS gauge on this release, planned to be in there for the next one, so I wont load AIBridge with my PMDG 737 anymore. My 2 cents answered fast a swiftly, that's why I love this community.Thank you all,Gustavo B.Copa V.A.
July 3, 200322 yr HiI have flown two IFR circuits so far with the 737-700, performed one visual and one autoland ILS approach. Here are two things I'd like to add to the list of "issues":- I am unable to find the light switches for panel lighting. It has been noted earlier in the thread, I'd just like to second the observation. - Engines and APU running. Switching from ENG GEN to APU GEN, correctly illuminates the ENG GEN BUS OFF lights. However every time I then turn the engines off, these lights still remain illuminated. Any idea why? It seems this illumination does not correspond with any system status, so the switches are not actually doing anything, as they shouldnt be. As far as I know these lights should only be illuminated if the engine generator is running, so while the engine is running. Whenever it is off, the lights would also be off. Please correct me if I'm wrong! This product is simply brilliant. I am overwhelmed to find so many systems have been simulated, and so realisticly. Thanks alot PMDG!Regards,Ryan
July 3, 200322 yr The points created in the fix page can't be entered in the legs pages FMC doesn't allow, in the RTE gives "not in database".Jos
July 3, 200322 yr Commercial Member Hi James,"The Vref for t/o and landing are off by 10-15 kts(too low)."How do you know with such certainty ? Do you want to bet ? :-) What should the stakes be ?Regards,Vangelis======================================= E. M. July 3, 200322 yr I'd be interested to know how long the list of problems is PMDG current has and when, if ever, we might expect some of them fixed. I don't want to be critical of anyone but on the day of release people were reporting problems. Surely the 4 weeks of testing by 20 testers found most of these.
July 3, 200322 yr Hi,has the TRIM issue been adressed already?Somehow it looks not very good, is it a bug? Here is a screenshot, says more than many words...http://www.t-a-h.com/pmdg-trimm.jpghttp://www.t-a-h.com/pmdg-trim2.jpgWhat about the trim, it seems to be too much nose-down and when I trim for takeoff about the middle, I get up like a rocket and loosing speed fast! Is it right that the plane flys like that but with the trim so much nose-down? Regards, Torben Hadler
July 3, 200322 yr Hi Vangelis,my data is from the Continental Flight Manual B737-700Sec.5 Page 15 (Rev.11/15/02 #41)I can always backup my statements!:-)By the way I think the pitot heat is not working.I loose all indicatedairspeed when passing through high cloud cover(and yes,it's turned on)Have Fun James
July 3, 200322 yr "Insufficient fuel warnings throughout the flight, even though I had twice the fuel I needed for the trip. The fuel amount had disappeared from the progress area of the fmc and nothing I did could get it back."Did you plan any hold in advance?if so, that's your problem. When a hold is planned there is appearantly no more ETA data after the hold so fuel calculations to destination will not be correct(e.g. infinite time required to fly to destination => infinite fuel required to get there = insufficient fuel.)Cheers
July 3, 200322 yr "2) How to Enable DIRECT to waypoints once airborne, I can't help remembering the nifty button on the -400's FMC model. For instance, I was airborne earlier on a flight and was told to fly direct XXXX waypoint #3 on list, obviously I wasn't able to delete the current waypoint I was flyin to so I had to turn off LNAV and fly manually... Any ideas?"this is a correct modelling. To go dct to a waypoint: (do not delete first wpt, will not work)click the LSK next to the waypoint you want to fly direct to in the LEGS page.you'll see the waypoint appear in the scratchpadthen click the 1LSK on PAGE 1/x of the LEGS pageNow press EXEC button and you'll be guided directly towards this waypoint.Remember, the NG is NOT the same as the EFIS(400)Cheers*EDIT*: WOOPS just notices Ryan's post, sorry
July 3, 200322 yr Hey James, I second that on the Pilot Heat, has anyone else noticed??I was on test flying EHAM-EGLL and halfway through, with no problems on FMC or speed as other have, the ony thing captured my attention was the PFD giving out wrong reading, clearly the case of the P/H not turned on, but I fly with checklists in hand and yes it was on but my best guess it wasn't heating. Good thing we have hot mamas as flight attendants at Copa :) just a quick cabin call and we're done hehehe....Gustavo B.Copa Virtual Airlineshttp://forums.avsim.com/user_files/20814.jpg
July 3, 200322 yr I confirm this too...the pitot heat doesn't seem to work.I noticed this today on my first flight with ActiveSky and as I went through clouds while descending into LIMC my IAS on the PFD wento to Zero!Quickly checked on the overhead and the pitot switches were on.By the way..after flying a while I always get the APU fire bottle discharge to lite up on the throttle console.(see attached picture)Regards,Bjorn
July 3, 200322 yr Hi,Have you tried the Engine / Wing anti-ice? I suspect that somehow the "pitot heat" is linked to them now (which is erroneus in this case), because in PIC767 they will rid you of the IAS-icing problem...Tero PPL(A)
July 3, 200322 yr Hi there, first i have to say that it's a very nice plane and i am looking forward to the 800/900-pack!I want to add some issues i found and which are not adressed yet.- The ADF: for example, EDDH, there is a NDB like this: 350.5! You can only change the first three digits!- FMC: I was flying from EDDV to EDDH and while there are no STAR's available yet i included a FIX in the flightplan.I noticed that the FMC calculates a wrong fuelconsumption and time to go from the last waypoint to the FIX.In the pictures i took you see that the DTG is only 22 miles and the FMC calculates a fuelconsumption of 1.4t and a time of 1h28m!It happens everytime you fly the route. Try it, it's only a short flight. Here is the route data: EDDV 27L, NIE VOR, LBE VOR, FIX LBE/068/22.1, EDDH 23- On descent if there is turbulance/wind the plane won't hold the speed even with spoilers deployed. V/S was 1200 ft/min.No prob if there is no turbulance/wind!The A/T gives to much power while descending!Hope you will look into this issues!Bye Carsten
