AIRCRAFT *ISSUES* THREAD

On some occasions I get a green line running through the ND, see pic below. I have not entered anything into the FIX page. The line is NOT shown when I undock the ND, but reappears when I dock it again.EDIT: The line is attached to the number 1 VOR and shows regardless if I select VOR1 on or off on the ND. The line does not show when I select the same VOR as VOR2.EDIT 2: The Fire extinguisher problem seems to occur after some time. I have done short flights without the discharge, but whenever I do a longer flight the indicator lights for APU, L and R BOTTLE DISCHARGE light up. When that has happened the green lights that normally illuminate when I move the ENGINES EXT TEST switch remains dark. My very wild guess is that there is some timer in the failure logic that discharges the bottles without doing anything with the rest of the logic connected to pulling any of the fire handles. All of those remain in the down position.

The -600 is massively overpowered not underpowered. It takes, however, 12 secs for the engines to spool up from 40% N1 to max take-off. At KMDW max Rwy length is about 6500 ft. Spool up times and correct trim (use approx 4 3/4 units for the -600 and 5 1/2 for the -700) MUST BE TAKEN INTO ACCOUNT. Weight limit for this runway is 143.000 lbs for the -700. I performed a t/o and autoland from rwy 31C, @124 thousand lbs with the -600. Plane after touch down stopped at exactly the opposite runway touchdown zone (approach speed VRef + 5, flaps 30, autobrakes to 3, spoilers extended, reverse thrust). The distance required is within 5% of Boeing data. What is the problem ? Please try to unlearn what you learned about 737's by using MSFS thus far ! PS_1. Better sign with a real name so that I have the pleasure of knowing to who I talk to :)PS_2 If you happen to show this "modified airfile" model to anybody that actually ****does know**** how 737NG's operate please tell them it did not come from us. On the other hand, better don't touch model parameters, nothing is placed by accident there.Best Regards,Vangelis======================================== E. M. MikeWhat`s your bank limiter set to?It could be your problem.Try setting it to max 30 degrees I believe.

Right Ram Air Door Logic is messed up. Light is dependent on Isolation Valve switch position.Master Caution logic is incorrect for the Fuel and Hydraulic systems. Electric Hyd Pumps off do not cause a M/C.The Elect Hyd pumps do not work. There is no pressure displayed on the upper Display unit.

Iron Claw (what's your real name ?)Bank limiter was set to 30, that was the first thing I checked.Mike

Lack of VCPerhaps this is an issue with some other people that I missed in the numerous threads above, however I am unable to even load the VC model aircraft. Just the 2d panel aircraft works fine, however when I try to load the VC model, flightsim crashes. This is not a problem I've experienced in the past with any other payware products (PSS, flight1, etc). I currently am running WinME on a P4 1.75. I installed the gdi+ as advised and tried reinstalling as well, but no dice, still crashes. Hopefully we can get this resolved because the exterior visual model and the 2d panel look awesome, good work guys! Please help! Thanks! :D Kyle

Should the DC switch turn to Test and should the AC switch turn to Inv and Test?

MikeOk.I triedRon

Tero I'm landing correctly, I even tried KMDW with autoland and it still seems as if the reverse thust leaves something to be desired. I should have stated that my findings are with the -700 and not the -600 (haven't flown the -600 much yet).Dillon--

>The only problem I've encountered so far, not counting the>fps issue with VC, is that I'm unable to deactivate the>spoilers with the default key (and also the button on my CH>yoke that is mapped to that key). One person said that pushing>the button quickly two times in a row worked for him, but not>for me. Perhaps this is something that is covered in the>manual.>>/KristerInterm workaround: Press shift-/ and then shift-/ again, that will arm the spoilers(retract them IOW), and then the second shift-/ takes them out of arm mode :)

Spoilers don't appear to retract after pressing the "/" key. They do open OK when first pressing this key however. Maybe a new key assignment for this a/c for spiler retraction?Thanks- Bruce.

Hi PMDG team, I'm enjoying your 737NG, the approach and landig are my favourite parts with this product.I have some little problems, like the fuel imbalance, will try the 1 to 3 thing in the cfg.One thing I noted,If I enter the flight plan manually, later I can edit it on flight, for example delete or add waypoints without problems, but if I load a flightplan (created in the 737NG FMC and saved) when I want to delete a waypoint of the route in the LEGS page, FS2002 freeze complitly. Don't know if this is NavData related. This don't happend everytime to me but happends. For example in a route EGLL-LEMD (SAM UN866 ORTAC UL14 NEA UN864 ORBIS) I erase a waypoint and works ok, when I tryed to erase a second waypoint FS2002 freezes. http://forums.avsim.com/user_files/20592.jpgAnd a dumb question, where's the switch for the retroillumitation of the panels? I only activated via "L" key, very nice work on the overhead panel!Regards

Charly Diaz Azcue[br /] BAW062 [br /] HC270CH Q8
[/p][/p]
I just noticed the load editor doesn't display the currently in use loadout of the models - would be nice if if it did.Ryan

Dillon,This is what I did.model -700, 90 pax, front cargo 2773kg (6100 lbs), rear cargo 2727kg (6000 lbs), with ZFW of 50591kg (111300lbs).Took 4 tonnes (4000kg) of fuel, and departed the 13C at KMDW.Rotation occuredd at the first junction of the parallel runways, ie. approximately at 1/3 of the rwy distance.Flew a circuit, and setup to approach with GW of 54 tonnes (metric), I don't even know if it's above MLW for the -700 ??Setup for flaps 40 approach, MAX autobrake.Touchdown occured in the LZ. With no other intervention than engaging the reversers, the aircraft stopped a few meters short of the runway end with reversers and autobrake going on ALL the way to full stop (I know it's not how it's supposed to be :)). The diagnosis: I could stop the plane in the runway, although it required WRONG method of braking with reversers beyond 80 knots AND max autobrake. Even then, the margin was ridiculously small.Aftermath: Are the -700s performing OPs at KMDW at what GWs ? And was I landing ABOVE MLW ?If the weights were within limits, then the stopping distance definitely raises questions...RegardsTero

Okay,Coming back to continue the list. I hope someone reads these ;), as the messages are piling up all the time elsewhere in the forum.25. I lost manual brakes (toe brakes) after landing completely. The next flight I took (I rebooted inbetween), I no longer had any manual toe brakes available. All the other aircraft had brakes.26. The reverse thrust sound is too short. It starts to repeat itself pretty quickly, which sounds not only odd, but is a definate "downer" in trying to maintain the "feeling" ;).27. The sounds for all the switches are excessive, compared to other sounds of the panel. The NG doesn't have a sound configuration menu to alter the NG sounds separately (as per PIC). This would be a nice addition.28. As expected, the functions of the panel don't work with default keypresses. Like A/T or A/P disconnects. Therefore, I think a separate "custom control assignments" -menu would be in order. At least in the 800/900 which I _so hope_ to be homecockpit builder friendly (ie. data extractable from the SW entirely), there should be an option to change key combos etc. Or some other means to MAP stuff to external controls and HW.29. LNAV and SPD engaged several times by themselves! I didn't touch anything and suddenly just... LNAV. Also, during approach, suddenly the SPD just engaged. 30. VNAV disconnected once during climb without a reason, all was well.. and bang. VNAV DISCONNECT.31. The windows that contain the FMC, Radios, Throttles and Overhead should NOT have the kind of frames they now have, because the black area around them eats the size of the actual "information region" when they are undocked and moved to other monitors. In other words, get rid of the black areas around the undocked windows.32. The overhead takes away the whole main panel when undocked. Not neat. It should be undocked as a separate entity (without the black borders of course :)), so it could be moved to another monitor as well.33. I don't get any F/D bars visible on the EADI for takeoff, even though I have programmed the FMC, armed A/T and set F/D on. The green box appears and activates for F/D, but no F/D crosshairs are visible UNTIL I select a lateral mode. This could (and probably is) be a NG feature. Being used to NEVER arming any modes besides TO TO in 757, and having the crosshairs visible all the time, I find this funny. Then of course. RTFM :).34. About the G/S "dive" that was discussed in another message by Van in this thread. I have had the issue of the ILS's or VOR's NOT tuning, despite of everything being set as it should. This problem ONLY occurs with the NG. Now, I DO know that normally the LOC is captured first, but it SHOULD be possible to arm the APP-mode straight away as well. Now, IF I don't have any data for the G/S or LOC, selecting APP causes the aircraft to nose dive into the ground. Instead, it should stay in ALT HOLD, as there is no signal coming in.Ok, these were the new ones for now. I'll be back :).best regards,Terops. if you have any questions, please email me at [email protected], so I can help with more details if desired.ps2. I know I'm commenting a LOT of things right now. And I understand that many of them are bogus, and some just take time to investigate. Just take all the time you need to review stuff. No panic whatsoever. Oh, your comment on the FAQ really made me laugh out loud!
