July 4, 200322 yr Gustavo,The VNAV problem is already known, it's a bug and is described more thoroughly in another thread. The spoiler-thing is also a bug, but has nothing to do with night textures. Seems that the handle will only move properly with mouse, and moves very oddly with for example a yoke, that has the spoilers mapped to a lever.Tero PPL(A)
July 4, 200322 yr Hi Randy!I think what he is looking for is how to for turn on/off the morse codes from the NAV radios and the marker beacon sounds. :)(this thread is getting a tad long, so you might not see this post, lol).Later! /Tord Hoppe, Sweden
July 4, 200322 yr Hi,a problem with the autopilot. During inflight the control lights of the MCU switched off, the "animation" while switching knobs become inoperative => Autoflight out of function. eg you can press A/T - Flight Mode Annunciator confirmed A/T is armed - but you can't select speed any longer. Same for selected heading etc. pp. Strange: It's very difficult to reproduce this "phenomenon". Sometimes the malfunction of the MCU appears, sometimes not....Can anyone confirm the observation?
July 4, 200322 yr I purchased the 737NG a couple of days ago. So far I have only spent time with the systems, cockpit controls and also made a few statups, shutdowns, IFR and visual approaches. Here are a few observations, some which as I see have already been mentioned in this topic.1) The light switches are missing from all the panels. This is most clearly visible on the overhead panel, there's nothing where the switches should be. Therefore I find it possible to only use flood lights for the main panel (by pressing Shift+L). This is a problem because the for night flying while not at the gate it's best to use instrumentation illumination only. Is this not included in this release, and will it be adressed in the patch or a future update?2) I also notice that after engine shutdown, the corresponding generator bus availability indicator lights are still illuminated. I have always known that they are only litten while the drive is available. Am I mistaken?3) Also noted I believe already: the announciator light on the main panel lights up correctly when the speedbrake is armed. However I don't see indication on the panel when the speedbrake is deployed, whereas - as far as I know - there should be a yellow announciator light. Again is this really missing, and if so will it be included with the patch or a future update?4) Airconditioning pack switches: 3-position can be switched only in one order: OFF -> AUTO -> HIGH -> OFF -> AUTO -> etc.. As far as I know it should be possible to turn a pack off from AUTO position without first having to move it to HIGH. Am I wrong about this?5) As noted already, it seems the Logo light switch position does not correspond with the logo light on the aircraft. I am guessing this is an FS2002 limitation, perhaps it will work in FS2004?And finally the low frame rates. Like many others I also suffer from a very large impact on the performance when using any of the models with a VC or even the cabin. Otherwise the 2D panel version runs fine.Overall I am very satisfied with the product. Til now I have been using the Dreamfleet 737 panel, and flying the -300. I have been waiting for just such an addon to come along that would initiate the move on to the -700 NG. Thanks alot to the whole PMDG team, this is truly a remarkable aircraft!Regards,Zoltan HegedusBudapest, Hungary
July 4, 200322 yr Hi,same here! I can't reproduce it, but i have a little workaround. If you have window 3 open than open window 2 and you can now enter everything. If you go back to window 3 everything is working again.I thing it's an issue with the panel-windows?Cheers Carsten
July 4, 200322 yr Hi team,i found two more issues relating to the FMC:- If on manual descent and you enter a new altitude for the next waypoint and change to VNAV the plane begins to climb! I think the FMC will calculate a descent-profile from current position to the next waypoint and should descent or level up but don't climb!- If i enter a fix and i am not flying direct to that fix you can't enter the fix into the LEGS-page! -> You can enter it but it's wrong calculated. If i enter a fix and i am flying direct to that fix you can enter the fix into the LEGS-page and it's correct calculated!I have attached two pictures showing this issue!Cheers Carsten

July 4, 200322 yr Yes Steve, I pushed the 'R' and I see the radio panel fine. But I'll try to be more clear. On radio panels you need to be able to select the audio output for the various frequencies, i.e: morse code identifier from NAV1 or NAV2, the marker warning sounds, and you should also be able to select which Comm frequency you transmit/receive on. FS ATC defaults to a transmit/receive on COMM 1. You can also choose to receive audio from both COMM1 and COMM2. I need to be able to switch TX/RCV to COMM 2 to avoid having the Radar Contact controllers conflict w/ FS ATC. My radio panel has nothing above the Comm frequency selectors, not even the border which goes around the other three sides. This is generally where the audio selector should be. Sure, I can patch in my GMA340 Audio Panel GARMIN and alter the .cfg to allow two comm readios, but that unit is for GA, and that wouldn't be very realistic.I hope this made more sense. Thanks,Dave Hhttp://www.eagleexpressva.com> Did you try pushing the
R
on the panel>switcher ;)?>>[h5]Best Wishes,>Randy J. July 4, 200322 yr So far, it's generaly a joy to fly! I haven' t fiddled with the FMC, etc yet, until a thorough POH comes out from PMDG (Don't rush this! We want it as close to the real as possible! No problem on reading tons about the NG!), as i'm still joyriding the thing at Madeira, seeing how realistically it lands on Rwy 05! I can therefore only comment on flight dynamics, which are superb, at least in comparison to anything else i' ve "flown" in FS!Just some small observations though (apart from the most known ones - VNAV,APU discharge/fuel imbalance,LOGO lights - )...-CVR panel on the overhead seems to be INOP. Any plans for it?-No rolling trim wheel? I loved that rotating white band on DF734!!-Throttles don't seem to move smoothly, rather than going up or down in certain increment positions and in a very shattering manor. Also, the pedestal panel (COM.NAV etc) is double-row, and not three rowes as in NG, with rather fewer panels than the original (used 2 separate airline photos @ airliners.net for confirmation). A concious choice of PMDG or you simply said...? "enough realism! I feel like dead!"LOLFinally, are there any plans for the lower EICAS screen to be modelled? Last time you mentioned it I believe it was a no. Just curious though... ;-)It is simply perfect, my only two worries being when the patch + docs will come out so I can fly these birds more realistically, and when the registration key will arrive (it's 2 days and counting, but unless you go beyond the 10 days, i can always wait!).P.S.: PMDG thanks for a wonderful simulation! Oh and don't mind us people hassling you about releasing the 800/900 + BBJ, we are just CRAZY!!(in the good sense of the word!)
July 4, 200322 yr If I turn on the standby power, I can't make the sound of the standby generator go away even after restoring normal power configuration. Also, is the STBY PWR switch a 2 or 3-position switch? The label suggests 3, but it's only a 2-position switch on the panel.Bob Bob Scott | President and CEO, AVSIM Inc ATP Gulfstream II-III-IV-V Sys1 (MSFS20+24/XPlane12+11): AMD 9800X3D, water 2x240mm, MSI MPG X670E Carbon, 64GB GSkill 6000/30, nVidia RTX4090FE Alienware AW3821DW 38" 21:9 GSync, 2x4TB Crucial T705 PCIe5 + 2x2TB Samsung 990 SSD, EVGA 1000P2 PSU, 12.9" iPad Pro Thrustmaster TCA Boeing Yoke, TCA Airbus Sidestick, Twin TCA Airbus Throttle quads, PFC Cirrus Pedals, Coolermaster HAF932 case Sys2 (P3Dv5/v4): i9-13900KS, water 2x360mm, ASUS Z790 Hero, 32GB GSkill 7800MHz CAS36, ASUS RTX4090 Samsung 55" JS8500 4K TV@60Hz, 3x 2TB WD SN850X 1x 4TB Crucial P3 M.2 NVME SSD, EVGA 1600T2 PSU Fiber link to Yamaha RX-V467 Home Theater Receiver, Polk/Klipsch 6" bookshelf speakers, Polk 12" subwoofer, 12.9" iPad Pro PFC yoke/throttle quad/pedals with custom Hall sensor retrofit, Thermaltake View 71 case, Stream Deck XL button box Sys3 (DCS/P3Dv4/ATS/ETS): AMD 7800X3D, MSI MPG X870E Carbon, Noctua NH-D15S, 64GB GSkill 6000/30, EVGA RTX3090 Alienware AW3420DW 34" 21:9 GSync, Corsair HX1000i PSU, 4TB Crucial T705 PCIe5 + 2TB Samsung 970Evo Plus, TM TCA Officer Pack, Saitek combat pedals, TM Warthog, TM RS300 FF wheel/pedals, Coolermaster HAF XB case

July 4, 200322 yr Posted in different thread : The virtual cockpit has issues. I don't like how long it takes to draw detail. We are only talking perhaps a second or so, but it is certainly noticeable and detracts from looking at a different views. I was quite dissapointed with the overall look and feel of the virtual cockpit. Eaglesoft's Beechjet really has everything a virtual cockpit should have, so I guess I am a little bit spoilt. The lights have issues too. In the 2D cockpit, when looking rear left, you can see the lights 'floating' in mid-air. Also, if using the virtual cockpit, the lights do not sit right on the wing tip.I personally do not see the point of a virtual cabin (I stress this is a personal view). I can't see why work should be directed towards a part of the aircraft that really doesn't matter in flight sim (again, personal view).I do not like the fact that there are no true wing views. The engines are only partly rendered too. I guess I've been spoiled there with Ariane aircraft.I can't disengage the autpilot using my yoke as I can in every other aircraft. Surely there must be a key list somewhere so we can re-assign buttons etc?The spoilers have issues as well. They seem a little reluctant to deploy and I don't get a light to say they have deployed. The contact points for the main gear wheels seems to be a little bit out to me. The aircraft doesn't seem to compress with a heavy fuel load either.Perfomance is a little low. I am used to flying aircraft such as the Beechjet with no 'hit' at all. I believe my main flight sim PC to be of adequate specs as well (see below). I'm yet to try it on other PC's I own (pain because of the registration process). Also, wing tip lights visible (floating in mid-air)when looking rear left. Kinda sums it up really.Rich.
July 4, 200322 yr As we were saying about the pedestal...http://www.airliners.net/open.file/338090/L/http://www.airliners.net/open.file/219247/L/I suspect that there are differences between variants so i hope that when you release the -800/-900 add-on you will consider the pedestal as well. Also to report once more there are no Flood light/Background light controls on panels.
July 4, 200322 yr My tuppence worth:- I have issues with the FMC and navigation that I didn't see reported yet in the 100+ posts above this one.1. LNAV track jumps erroneously. Sometimes tracks are just way, making a nice curved turn, but in the wrong direction. It happened most on the RWY extension waypoint, where it jumps to the other side of the runway!2. Time-to/Fuel-at Next Waypoint has errors. This is what is causing the INSUFFICIENT FUEL errors. On a short flight (20 minutes) the FMC thought I would arrive 15 hours later. Time to next waypoint just jumps up and down to all kinds of values.3. Autopilot control. Making a turn to final on the autopilot, it just does not maintain altitude and goes right through the set altitude.4. It is not possible to select the LAST IRS POSITION and insert it into the new one. IT almost seems unnecessary to enter that IRS position anyway, since looking on your map display will show you that the aircraft knows EXACTLY where you are, even though it's LAST IRS POSITION may be hundreds of miles off.- Furthermore, I'm pretty stunned by the hit this plane takes on my system. I do have to wait about a minute before everything is loaded and even after exiting FS2002, my system seems to require a few minutes to catch its breath! My system is an AthlonXP 2000+, 512Mb DDR with GeForce 4200/128.- I find that I require quite a lot of elevator force to rotate and the plane sucks up a lot of runway before taking off. This seems off, especially since I take off using full thrust, something which is hardly ever done. And, overran a few runways upon landing.I've heard PMDG reply with the fact that several 737 pilots tested this, but these things still seem off.Looking forward to fixes of all these things. 767PIC was far from perfect when it first came out!Regards,Iz
July 4, 200322 yr I would like to add that I have been having some problems with the PMDG Load Manager. A resonable loading of 120 pax and 5000 forward and aft cargo drives the front gear half way into the ground (hard to explain without a picture). I tried multiple loads configurations, including max aft cargo with no pax and no forward cargo. Still with max aft cargo the front gear is again in the ground. When i try to take off with about 110000lb of balanced weight it takes about 10000 feet to take off and a Trim of 9 for level flight, and I noticed the lurching in cruise that was mentioned in other threads: http://forums.avsim.com/dcboard.php?az=sho...=6706&mode=fullIf I go in and manually change empty_weight in the aircraft.cfg to the ZFW of the load manager she flys like a dream, takes off and lands at all the right speeds according to the FMC.I would also like to add that my fire bottles are discharging by themselves. Thanks for a great ACEvan
