March 22, 200422 yr Commercial Member >Now for my first question, how is the ACARS function going to>apply in the sim?Again, we don't have the full information on it yet, but just imagine the possibilities if a virtual airline started up a dispatcher unit and these people were able to actually communicate with pilot flying flights online and give them their weights, trim, routing, inflight PIREPS etc... I'm not saying that's gonna be possible (no one knows except the dev team) but I know that idea was brought up. I think it'd be revolutionary if they can do something like that! March 22, 200422 yr Guys, I know that a real pilot should not fly with GPS, but I'm not a real pilot and I was wondering if this would be possible to add a GPS launching button to the 2D panel? Thanks!Jacek Gawecki

March 22, 200422 yr Hi,I can with almost a 100% certainty tell you that won't happen. And once you've mastered the FMC you really don't want to usethe default GPS.Check this forum for the two great tutorials which teaches you how tostart mastering the FMC. March 22, 200422 yr That looks a looooong cabin :-lolLooks very impressive so far and these are just early beta's, the final product is always better (well from PMDG anyway :-) ) Alaister Kay
March 22, 200422 yr Jacek, if you're having trouble with the FMC and LNAV/VNAV, try programming only LNAV (it's basically the same as GPS). Just enter departure and arrival airports on your FMC Route Page 1/1, then enter the arrival airport code on, say, your LEGS page, then ACTIVATE and EXECute your route. At a suitable height after takeoff, select LNAV on your MCP and your aircraft will fly directly to your destination. Use whatever vertical mode you feel comfortable with (to fly you up to cruise altitude and back down again). If you feel a bit more adventurous, you can insert waypoints, VOR's, etc, into the route as you fly.Once you've mastered LNAV, you can move onto VNAV. :-abductCheers.Ian.
March 23, 200422 yr Oh man! That last one was so close - I was serious - I'd love to see who the co- and pilot are!Best,sg(Scott Gridley) [email protected] | 32gb RAM | EVGA GTX1080 8gb | Mostly P3Dv5 (also IL2:BoX, DCS, XP11)
March 23, 200422 yr Ryan ask Andrew about MIDCON for the answers to this statement:>just imagine the possibilities if a virtual airline started up a dispatcher unit and these people were able to actually communicate with pilot flying flights online and give them their weights, trim, routing, inflight PIREPS etc...
