September 21, 200421 yr Take a look at the post -2- posts up from where this is...The PIC767 was a 767-300ER, I would expect the same will be true for the new release...whether or not it is called an "ER" is not really that important IMHO. As long as she holds lots of fuel for those overnight hops to the other side of the Earth :-)There is little difference between the ER and the 300 other than MTOW/MLW and fuel capacity - as far as a desktop sim is concerned. The high alt APU, flotation devices, and a 4th HYD system is not going to make a huge difference in the life of the PIC-head.2.5 cents. Rob. System specs: Dual core E6300 (1.86g X 2), 2gb RAM, nvidea7800GT, Saitek yoke, CH throttle (6 lever), Soundblaster live.Add-ons: FSX: LDS767, FSL Concorde, FT E175/195, PMDG 747X/737X, Active Sky E, some freeware airports.Human specs: Desktop simulation since FS1, beta tester (LDS, FSL), 737NG simulator tech (Threshold Aviation), r sole+.
September 21, 200421 yr Gary and Rob,The reason I said that was due to this post from Laurent himself. But your right Rob and on that note, Rob, do you have the ranges for the -300 as compared to the -300ER? I could not locate the -300 range on the Boeing site.>>The fact that we planned to release "only" a 767-300 and not 767-200,767-300ER,757 ... is simply because we prefer to code the system logics with deep accuracy. We realized some time ago that adapt the logic to another model is simply far too much work. To give you an example, starting now a 757 is like starting a new project, so the differences are numerous (hydraulics, electrics, engines, pressurization ...). And last but not least, we have to deal with numerous different carrier options ! Some more will be present in comparison to PIC V1 ! Regards,Laurent CrenierLevel-D Simulations developper Eric
September 21, 200421 yr Captains,It's finally coming! The group responsible for the PIC version 2 is Level D Simulations. You can download the promo here:Level-D is the new name for the development group responsible for 767 Pilot In Command, and so the announcement -- and the release of an 8-minute promotional video showing the new product -- was keenly received!http://library.avsim.net/esearch.php?DLID=53956&CatID=rootkarimspiritflare_yyz

September 21, 200421 yr Oh ye of little faith. Having flown it myself at the meeting in Denver I can tell you it's real and it's not being hyped. The VC is gorgeous.RG
September 21, 200421 yr Sorry for what I said ...We are still in beta developpement and the 300 / 300ER choice is still under consideration. And yes, the video shows an early beta where some elements are from ER, some are not. That will be fixed later. That's the only thing I can say for now.Laurent Crenier,Level-D Simulations developer
September 21, 200421 yr Hi,That's very good news indeed!!! I'm glad I now will have the option to migrate my minicockpit for PIC767/FS2002 to PIC767_v2/FS2004. Ofcourse I do hope that the variables/states of the PIC767_v2 will be available via a block of FSUIPC offsets (like project magenta), such that I can control my leds in my cockpit right from the sim ...I have just one question: will the support for the Aerosoft MCP be continued?Regards,Nicowww.nicokaan.nl
September 21, 200421 yr This is good news. I do hope the -300ER is seriously considered.Best RegardsBoone,[email protected]"Flying a plane is no different from riding a bicycle. It's just a lot harder to put baseball cards in the spokes."
September 21, 200421 yr Well what can I say, I jjust felt the nned to thank all you guys Wade and crew for this great add on, it seems that wiil be te best aircraft add on created for FS....I should'nt ask for more, but if possible, please reconsider the posibility of having 300ER's and would it have a paint kit???cheers, and all the bestthanks
September 22, 200421 yr Hi Laurent,Would you be able to tell us if the FMC files will still be in the same format? It would be a shame to start all over again...Cheers.
October 2, 200421 yr Considering that PMDG737 uses the same Navdata as the PIC767V1 did/does... I would suspect it would be a good idea to keep this at least the same. Sids and Stars data would be alright to change to work with the PMDG system but whatever happens there eh...I'm also for the -300ER varient, and maybe for the engine varients thing too ie the option for EPR or N1... / P&W or GE (or RR lol)Also would like to see an option for TCAS on the ND or on the VSI Trent Hopkinson, 2015 Crewmember of www.mangrove.com.au WorldFlight sim Youtube channel www.youtube.com/user/musicalaviator
October 2, 200421 yr For us, the users i dont think it makes any difference what ever navdata format is used....Will Flight One be updating their website for LDS 767 soon ? I hope so, I cant wait for some more news...Also I heard a new video was being made...Alex
October 2, 200421 yr >Why should the LDS guys use the same format as PMDG. >Because its easier to share SID/STAR files.
October 2, 200421 yr Ok,why would PMDG want to share their SID/STAR format with another development group - can't see it myself.
