June 27, 200520 yr I have the CH Pedals and don't like it at all. (ofcourse its better than not having any pedals). It is so light..I can operate it with my toes. (Unike the real thing..where I have to use a lot of force).I am thinking of spending the $400 or so and getting the PFC pedals. But I don't know.,. how much better that would be. September 17, 200520 yr Hi, Johan:I had CH pedals for almost 2 years and they drove me nuts; they went hard left every 5th flight. It was fruitless, even with FSUIPC and recalibration, etc. They were also hyper-sensitive.I was thinking myself about the new GoFlight rudder pedals because I have a lot of GF hardware now and it all works generally very nicely. So I hoped their pedals would be similar. I have read mixed results so far, however, and am not sure.Beyond this (i.e., above US$300), you are into Cirrus territory and looking at $500+ for good pedals. I am not sure if there are any truly flawless rudder pedals around. Everything seems to need configuring and periodic recalibration. One thing for sure: I can no longer fly by twisting the joystick. It is just impossible to cross controls for x-wind and engine failure without getting dizzy! How are you doing?JS Jonathan Sacks Dell XPS Gen 4, Pentium IV Northwood extreme 3.8Ghz, 3Ghz RAM, eVGA 7900 GTO, 12 GoFlight modules plus MCP-PRO AP and EFIS, GF pedestal, CH rudder pedals, CH throttle quadrant, 42" LG LED, 24" DELL LCD, Windows XP, FS2004, FSUIPC 3.96 FS Autostart 1.1 (Build 11), FS Navigator 4.6, UT, FE, GE, REX, PMDG, Level-D, PSS, etc.
September 18, 200520 yr I have the go-flight pedals in a box next to my door waiting to go back. Re-ordered the CH and had them overnighted. I also had the CH for 5 years and had the same thing after 5 years with them always going left, then after a while, they would totally disconnect. I figured I would try the Go-Flight pedals. At first I was very excited but then I realized they were way to back heavy. The force required to brake at all causes the entire front of the unit to lift up off the floor. The springs were way too tight. The second problem is that the pedals are controlled by a simple rod and gear. Not a big deal if the gears lined up correctly # 1 and # 2 if the gear was locked in somehow. The gear has nothing locking it in place so after flying for a little while and using the rudder the little gear comes loose and is no longer making contact with the drive gear. You push the pedals and nothing happens. Now I could have quickly drilled through the rod the gear was sat on and placed a pin through to lock it, or tried gluing it on but for that much money I was not about to take the chance of breaking them and I should not have to spend that money and fix it myself anyway. IMHO it is a design problem but that is just me. So I am back to the CH again and while they are not the most realistic, they are the best bang for the buck pedals out there...Just my .02,-Paul Have a Wonderful Day -Paul Solk
September 18, 200520 yr Paul:I cannot disagree, CH pedals are indeed the best bang for buck--as long as they don't hard-left on you too often! I confess, I've been re-tempted by them on occasion but have so far desisted.I was looking at PFC Cirrus and Jetliner pedals again today. Juicy stuff, wow!, but expensive as heck. Oh, well, the things we do for FS.....!JS Jonathan Sacks Dell XPS Gen 4, Pentium IV Northwood extreme 3.8Ghz, 3Ghz RAM, eVGA 7900 GTO, 12 GoFlight modules plus MCP-PRO AP and EFIS, GF pedestal, CH rudder pedals, CH throttle quadrant, 42" LG LED, 24" DELL LCD, Windows XP, FS2004, FSUIPC 3.96 FS Autostart 1.1 (Build 11), FS Navigator 4.6, UT, FE, GE, REX, PMDG, Level-D, PSS, etc.
September 18, 200520 yr I use Simped pedals and they are top notch - use a Hall effect sensor too so there's no pot issues or wear.
September 26, 200520 yr I have a pair of PFC Jetliner pedals...mechanically they're as good as it gets until you're willing to drop several thousand dollars/euros. Electrically, they use a slide pot that does wear out if you do a lot of foot stomping.I want a second pair of pedals to go with my tricked-out Thrustmaster Cougar HOTAS stick/throttle (retrofitted with CNC-machined gimbals, custom springs and Hall Effect sensors) I want to use the rudders for helicopter flying among other things...so they are gonna get kicked back-forth a lot. I need something with an HE sensor in it. Like the Simpeds.But...alas...the maker of the Simpeds isn't answering my many e-mails. Does anyone know if Dieter Hoffmann is still making them...and if so, where to find them?RegardsBob ScottATP IMEL Gulfstream II-III-IV-V L-300Santiago de Chile Bob Scott | President and CEO, AVSIM Inc ATP Gulfstream II-III-IV-V Sys1 (MSFS20+24/XPlane12+11): AMD 9800X3D, water 2x240mm, MSI MPG X670E Carbon, 64GB GSkill 6000/30, nVidia RTX4090FE Alienware AW3821DW 38" 21:9 GSync, 2x4TB Crucial T705 PCIe5 + 2x2TB Samsung 990 SSD, EVGA 1000P2 PSU, 12.9" iPad Pro Thrustmaster TCA Boeing Yoke, TCA Airbus Sidestick, Twin TCA Airbus Throttle quads, PFC Cirrus Pedals, Coolermaster HAF932 case Sys2 (P3Dv5/v4): i9-13900KS, water 2x360mm, ASUS Z790 Hero, 32GB GSkill 7800MHz CAS36, ASUS RTX4090 Samsung 55" JS8500 4K TV@60Hz, 3x 2TB WD SN850X 1x 4TB Crucial P3 M.2 NVME SSD, EVGA 1600T2 PSU Fiber link to Yamaha RX-V467 Home Theater Receiver, Polk/Klipsch 6" bookshelf speakers, Polk 12" subwoofer, 12.9" iPad Pro PFC yoke/throttle quad/pedals with custom Hall sensor retrofit, Thermaltake View 71 case, Stream Deck XL button box Sys3 (DCS/P3Dv4/ATS/ETS): AMD 7800X3D, MSI MPG X870E Carbon, Noctua NH-D15S, 64GB GSkill 6000/30, EVGA RTX3090 Alienware AW3420DW 34" 21:9 GSync, Corsair HX1000i PSU, 4TB Crucial T705 PCIe5 + 2TB Samsung 970Evo Plus, TM TCA Officer Pack, Saitek combat pedals, TM Warthog, TM RS300 FF wheel/pedals, Coolermaster HAF XB case
September 26, 200520 yr Hi, hey this is sim, ch pedals work great for the money invested, sure i wouldn't want them in my plane but in fantasy world they are equal to the task. jack wilson
September 28, 200520 yr Your correct, they are a good toy in the fantasy world of siming. Their yokes included. To bad, FS9 could support controls which can impart a more realistic feel. I long thought this is the one area which needs improvement,in the Sim world. Siming has become sophisticated,it is not a toy.It could be a first rate Sim, only with proper control inputs. September 28, 200520 yr There is a need for a good Pedal and a yoke linked to a real size Trim wheel. Manny Beta tester for SIMStarter
