October 24, 200619 yr Hi,I use the Saitek X52, and before that the X45 and the X36, but I am looking forward to picking up their new X52 Pro, and Rudder Pedals to go with it.
October 24, 200619 yr Last I knew the MSFF2 did not have XP drivers. Mine works fine in many games. Al Stiff

October 25, 200619 yr Steve,I also have the x52 which is new for me. do you have any problems forcinf FS9 to reconize your created profiles?I fly(if the is what you can call it:-)) jetliners and for some reason I tend to have a problem forcing FS9 to use my profiles. Maybe I'm not being patient enough and missing a step or three.Best regardsJan1,KINDWhen I push the button and it works, I'm happy:-)

October 31, 200619 yr Jan1,To get your X52 to recognize your profile you can do it 2 ways.1: Open the Profile Editor. Edit your profile with the button presses you want for each button. Save it. Then on the Toolbar look for an Icon that looks something like a Crosshair. Click on that with the profile you just saved and it will load it into your stick. Start up FS and Fly.If you are already in FS and forgot to load your profile you can still do it from within FS.2: On your throttle there is a button, "i" (also known as the clutch button). You know you are pressing the right button if your HAT switch on your Flight stick starts to flash. Move your HAT switch up or down to locate the profile you are looking for. Once found, while still holding the "clutch" button in, move your HAT switch to the right and wait a moment. You should now have your MS 2004 (or whatever name you gave it when you saved it) profile loaded. Go Fly!!Hope this helps. October 31, 200619 yr Hi, I have the Saitek Cyborg 3D stick at the moment and have been getting into flying fighters for a change F14/F16,i have been using the CH Yoke for my airliners, as you use it whats your opinion on the Saitek X52 , has it more fine tuning with the throttle say in the F16? Any help would be appreciated thanks. Cheers.
October 31, 200619 yr I used a Logitech Wingman Force 3D for more than two and a half years, and it held up like a champ. Even repeated falls from my desk from snagged power cords and the cat leaping around didn't put it out of action. Finally, over the summer, it reached its limit. It wouldn't calibrate and the force feedback motors were shot.So I bought a Saitek Cyborg Evo Force to replace it. It worked great...for a couple months. A single tumble identical to the untold numbers of falls the Logitech had shrugged off completely wrecked it. Calibration is impossible and the it registers a left-hand rudder force constantly. I got fed up last night while trying to test fly the new AOPA Cherokee. Into the junk pile goes the Saitek. I bought a Logitech Freedom wireless stick off eBay el-cheapo. I may miss the force feedback, but the price was right and any subtraction from the jungle of cords around my desk is a plus. Based on this admittedly limited experience, I now have a decidedly unfavorable impression of Saitek's build quality as compared to their competitor. I'd be very wary of purchasing another Saitek product now. YMMV, of course.
October 31, 200619 yr Sorry for a late response but I just saw this post, not sure if you have got it working yet. I have the that joystick, have been using it since FS98. I have FS2004 running on XP and it works just fine for me. I just went into the Control Panel under game controllers, selected add, and then selected microsoft sidewinder (auto detect). Mine is a USB, not sure if you have that or not. Hope you get it to work.Glenn

Dodger, I have used my X52 with everything from Single engine props to quad engine heavies, GA helicopters to fast attack helicopters, and even once or twice a few race cars (didn't like the way it felt though). The programability of the X52 is phenominal. There are 47 buttons (that includes using all 3 of your hats as button preses rather than hats) that can be programmed 6 different ways. That's a total of 282 different things to be done by this stick. You can also programs macros with it. What I mean by that is....Lets say you were coming in for a landing, you've done it so many times that you have it down to a science where you know the timing in between the steps you have to take to get in. You program the stick to do all these things for you with one button press and the stick does it all for you. OR you can program it to do all those things, but use only one button to do it all. The programming software for it takes just a little bit of time to get used to, but once you got it, YOU GOT IT!!!!....lol

I can't tell you how many times it has hit the ground, but I can tell you this. If it has performed as good as it still does for ME, being that I can be pretty....ummm....rough with my controls (not during flight mind you, don't want to scare any of you from flying with me when I can finally get online :-badteeth).In short I would gladly spend the money for it again. If not for how tough it is, but for the features I talked about in my post above.Hope this helps you decide on a good stick.OHHHHHHH.....and BTW, they have come out with a pretty stout looking set of pedals that match the X52......hmmmmmmmmmmm.
October 31, 200619 yr I would also recommend the Saitek X52AND YOU CAN MAP THE MOUSE WHEEL ON THE THROTTLE TO TRIM!!!!!!!!!!!(makes trimming a breeze!)
