I fit in your "last" category: "if I were hit for full price and CS refused to correct the sale price, I would make a copy of the e-mail ad CS sent out for the 24-hour sale and force a chargeback through the credit card company for failure to honor their advertised price, and mail a copy of that e-mail advertisement and the electronic receipt e-mail in with the chargeback paperwork.
