O.C. Before FSX or After?
This is actually a pointless argument as neither party is right or wrong. TBH it reads like a chicken or egg argument. It truly makes no difference when you install programs in relation to the OC, because when Windows decides to take a dump, it's going to take a dump. The mistake I'm seeing is people throwing around the word "stable" in relation to an OS. In my 17 odd years of building PC's, "stable" quickly left my list of vocabulary words when it comes to system building. OCing is such a touchy practice that I avoid it altogether any more. One little piece of code that Windows doesn't agree with and it's BSoD, and that holds true for a system that isn't OC'ed. Either way, it's "do it at your own risk" and really isn't worth the slight gain in performance you get with FSX. If you're running a decent Quad core or better CPU built within, let's say, the last five years, you're good. Gaming hardware is so far past FSX, that it has little effect on FSX. It's why I chuckle when someone says, "You must have the latest Intel i7 to run FSX optimally!" I often wonder if they work for Intel. Fact is, the performance gain between Intel and AMD is negligible, admitting in Intel's favor. What people have to face is this isn't Crysis, you're never going to see a constant 120 fps with max everything, even in vanilla FSX. My AMD dual core, dual 8800 GTX, 8 gig ram system ran FSX at between 17 to 25 FPS at Heathrow with Aerosoft's EGLL and a custom AI package from my VA, with NickN's settings. My current AMD 8 core, GTX 560, 16 gig ram system runs it at between 23 to 30+ (because I limit it to 30) FPS under the same conditions. Not much gain in the four or five years between systems.

"Could not open key" when attempting to install Acceleration Pack
The only bit of info I can give you, from what I've read, is that FSX and Windows 8 don't play well together. Most recomendations are to stick with Windows 7, which is still the superior Windows OS. If you still want to continue using Windows 8, then I would suggest dual booting with Windows 7, and use that to run FSX.

What AddOns can u recommend me?
Ok, I see a key thing in the OP's post "I am pretty new in the FS scene." I understand almost everyone loves the PMDG NGX, and it's the state of the art in flight sim, but throwing him in that is like telling a ten year old to drive a car before he learns to ride a bike. Let's ease him in to the sim. Check out some "lite" sim aircraft. Overland's planes are a good start, even CLS would be a slight step up. Check out Project Airbus's freeware planes, or Project Opensky (now defunct but their downloads page is still up.) Going after the freeware offerings will also teach you how to install a plane and manipulate the aircaft.cfg file. Learn some basic systems in these planes, like setting up the autopilot, landing using the ILS. Flap settings, find out what V1, Vr, V2 means. Baby steps, people, baby steps.

Any cool FSX apps for Android phones?
For those of us not bound to the chains of the iPhone/iPad and the evil iStore, are there any cool apps for FSX on Android phones? Or any in development? :)

Spanning view over 3 monitors - advice needed
If your OS is XP, then yes you should be able to do it through your Vid Card's driver, at least for Nvidia you can. Vista or above, can't do it without third party software. If I'm incorrect in this someone please let me know, because I've been trying to do this in Windows 7 natively.

Windows 7 FS2004
In a nutshell, you don't install FS9 or FSX or any program/game in the default location due to the tight security Vista/7 has on it. As a matter of fact, the same security applies to the whole of the C: drive, hence installing it on a separate partition or drive. UAC has nothing to do with this security, so turning it off doesn't help.

DC-8 for FSX!
I can't speak for Aerosim's DC-8 but their L-1011 ports over nicely to FSX, with VC intact, all guages working.

Unreasonable ATC instructions at some airports
Although I now use Radar Contact, when I used the default ATC, if I was starting from a higher altitude, at about 250 NM out I would start requesting lower altitudes reaching about FL240 or lower so ATC wouldn't have to "race" me down. Seemed to work, as ATC would assign me reasonable altitudes from there.

FSX 737 Fuel Switches?
That's why it is recomended that you do not turn off the master avionics switch on the Cessna when setting it up for "Cold & DarK."

FSX framerates 20 percent higher with Windows 7
Well, I'll chime in here. davew_uk you need to eradicate that virus called Vista, and just boot 7. Even though you experience no performance gain in FSX, 7 has a smaller footprint than Vista, and it just runs better.I have seen an increase in FPS since switching over to 7 by at least 5 fps's. I have also gained another 5 just by enabling SLi in my dual 8800 GTX setup.

Gauges for RD-4 and B-25
Disreguard the above statement, it is not necessary to install anything in these folders. On my setup I have a 500 gig HDD that has a 50 gig Windows partition and the rest dedicated to various programs like Photoshop, Radar Contact and various FS Utilities. I also have a second 640 gig HDD dedicated to games and some storage, FSX is set up on this drive away from the uber secure Windows 7 64 bit C: drive. Having FSX on a separate drive is the preferred method of installing the sim. If you don't have a second drive then partition your HDD and set up FSX on your second partition, even installing outside these folders on the C: drive subjects them to admistrative security warnings. Also, avoid using the folder names "Program Files" and "Program Files (x86)" when installing to these separate drives. Almost every tweak guide you read confirms this, google NickN's FSX Tweak guide for more tips. Also, there's no need for the compatibility setting. As long as you run everything as an administrator on all drives, you shouldn't have any issues.

Lengthened Runway FSX Bends Road Around It
I am having what I am sure is a small easily fixable issue with editing an airport in FSX. I'm working on KHGR, which is near me. They extended their runway to 7000 ft. a couple of years ago, and I'm attempting to remedy that in FSX. All is well except FSX is bending a road, Rt. 11, to accommodate the new length, problem is IRL they put bridges over Rt. 11 to accommodate the runway and taxiway. Is there any way to prevent FSX from doing this? Below are two pictures for comparison. The first is KHGR as it appears today with Rt. 11 circled. The second is a pic of my edit of KHGR in FSX with an awful representation of where Rt. 11 should be. Instead you can see Rt. 11 making a ridiculous turn and going above runway 27. Any help would be appreciated.

Signature image deleted
"Other image formats are allowed, as long as they do NOT exceed the 27,200 pixels maximum (400x68=27,200) and the 20Kbytes weight."I'm trying to figure out what is so difficult to understand. The bold part from a quote you quoted from the faq clearly points out other file formats. Here's a good rule of thumb, if the faq states a particular height and width, regardless of pixel count, then that's what you go by. 400x68x20KB is all you need to worry about. Another thing you should learn is; Rule #1 the Admins and Mods are always right, and Rule #2 when the Admins and Mods are wrong, refer to Rule #1.

I was one of the "lucky" ones from last year that got the C-130 for 9.99 Euros. I didn't feel tricked, I saw the banner that said that everything was 9.99 and clicked it.

Meatwater voicepack available for download
Depends on your taste. I'd use RC4 first for a couple of days without modification, then download these alternate voice packs, install them, and see which you prefer.

Problem with Radar Contact and Window 7
I use two separate drives as well, one for windows and FS Utilities, and another for all my games. Actually, I have had problems running programs outside of the "Program Files" folders and on other drives when I don't select "Run as Adminstrator." One game that I can think of right now is "Battlefield 1942." It is installed on my D: drive, and if I don't run it as an administrator it crashes when it loads. So just to be safe, I'd run programs you trust as an administrator, no matter where they're installed.
