May 2, 200917 yr You can't remove the gauge bezel for the GPS, as its part of the model, but you can comment out the code for the gauge in the panel.cfgI also tried to remove the right seat gauges but then I remembered (duh) they were part of the model tooAnyway, for the GPS gauge removal go to the panel.cfg and add two of these // in front of the GPS gaugegauge07=fs9gps!RAS_gps_500, 0, 444, 700, 580WILL then look like this://gauge07=fs9gps!RAS_gps_500, 0, 444, 700, 580 | My Liveries | FAA ZMP | PPL ASEL | | Windows 11 | MSI Z690 Tomahawk | 12700K 4.7GHz | MSI RTX 4080 | 64GB 6000 MHz DDR5 | 500GB Samsung 860 Evo SSD | 2x 2TB Samsung 970 Evo M.2 | EVGA 850W Gold | Corsair 5000X | HP G2 (VR) / LG 27" 1440p |
May 2, 200917 yr Hi Rian,I did exactly your modification but for some reason the GPS does still appear. Thanks anyway. On another subject, I'd like to report that on some liveries the red and blue textures for the mixture and prop levers are not displayed even though I load the C172 first and then switch to the Duke as recommended by the manual.
May 2, 200917 yr I would imagine black lever tops is a customer option of the real aircraft rather than a bug in the RealAir Duke. Cheers, Andy.

Forgive me if I have the wrong person, but good to see you are back in the powered flight world. How is the gliding? The black levers are NOT a mistake. They are a variation as seen on some real Dukes. We would have noticed if they were a mistake. Also answering your other post about a frame rate boost by hiding the co-pilot gauges, I don't think you would gain much here...maybe one or half a frame per second, if anything at all.Nice to hear from you anyway. All the best,Rob - RealAir Robert Young - retired full time developer - see my Nexus Mod Page and my GitHub Mod page
May 2, 200917 yr That's weird....be sure to add the correct slashes in front // and not \\Doing that won't remove the gauge frame, just the flat 2D gauge itself.... You'll still have the black bezel with push buttons and knobs on it.... | My Liveries | FAA ZMP | PPL ASEL | | Windows 11 | MSI Z690 Tomahawk | 12700K 4.7GHz | MSI RTX 4080 | 64GB 6000 MHz DDR5 | 500GB Samsung 860 Evo SSD | 2x 2TB Samsung 970 Evo M.2 | EVGA 850W Gold | Corsair 5000X | HP G2 (VR) / LG 27" 1440p |
May 2, 200917 yr Hi Rob,Yes it's Tony. You have good memory, it is ages I haven't posted here on AVSIM due to my practice of Condor: The Competition Soaring Simulator and the management of the french speaking community for that sim. Last week I was home due to a bad cold and then took the opportunity of the Duke release to make a come back. So in a matter of hours, I bought all the necessary stuff to get back in business: FSX, Acceleration Pack, Duke, SF-260. I'm happy to hear from you too!Rian,Yes your tip works because I understand now what you mean 'by the black bezel remains... it won't remove the gauge frame, just the flat 2D gauge itself.' Thanks.
May 2, 200917 yr I have not purchased the Duke as of yet, but from the Youtube videos I've watched the engine sounds don't register as being accurate to my ears. If you watch an actual Duke video and compare it to the RealAir Duke, it's pretty clear the sounds aren't similar. I'm no expert, maybe the videos I saw were a different engine type, but I was wondering if the early customers were happy with the engine sounds?Curt Curt Branch

VERY well done."http://www.sim-outhouse.com/sohforums/showthread.php?t=15363------------------------"Oh, yeah - the sounds are wonderful. I'll let the screen shots above speak for themselves. I was a little concerned as I taxied towards take-off that the engines sounded a little wimpy. Well, that went away real quick when I advanced the throttles and the engine sounds came alive. I can tell you from actual experience with a few Dukes that the RealAir simulation is quite realistic. The sound of the turbochargers kicking in and the RPM's quickly rising is quite well done. May 3, 200917 yr I hope the update also allows input from my PFC Cirrus II console for heading, OBS1 and altitude/vs assignments for the autopilot. It is programmed for standard FS variables but those sometimes get left off from custom gauge programming. Someone without the expensive hardware would never notice but those of us that do REALLY notice it.Zane--you might try looking at mouse macro programming in FSUIPC. It's a little-known and fairly new capability that allows you to map specific windows mouse events from the panel and then trigger them through FSUIPC, which is how the PFC boxes talk to FS anyway.
