That looks like a real beauty, some really excellent modeling and texturing going on there. Gotta hold the purse strings at the minute, but will certainly be having that at some point.Al

Looks very nice! Just not sure how often I will fly it if I do get a copy of it. Hope the frame rates are as good as their Twotter.

Looks great...but the 500+ pages of documentation available for download at the Aerosoft site may well put it over gross before I figure out how to get the engines started!

I've been looking forward to this aircraft as well, too. I have a fondness for amphibious aircraft and flying boats.Among my many geekazoid powers, one is to make spelling corrections in titles, so I re-spelled "Catalina" for you. You don't have to thank me all at once, just send the scotch to me c/o AVSIM World HQ. Kidding, just kidding. I wouldn't have made the spelling change if you hadn't brought the issue up yourself. I've made enough typos as it is. Jeff ShylukSenior Staff ReviewerAVSIM

LOL. I pictured the Avsim members sitting around looking at the title saying, "##### is a Cataline?"Thanks for the correction. I was unable to edit my post by the time I noticed it.

Don't remember what a Cataline was exactly, except Cicero didn't like 'em in my high school Latin.

Well, being a sucker for old bangers like the Catalina resistance proved futile, so I went and bought it. And very nice it is too, certainly not disappointed in the looks department. Great engine simulation from what I've seen so far, have to manage them properly, and it has some really excellent prop sounds, gauges are very nice too and also nice to see an option for modern avionics in there.I did notice (and suspected it might be the case) that in common with add-on DC-3s and stuff like that, it's a big help if you have Track-IR because if you can't shift your view easily, it is tricky to work the mixture levers.Al

No idea. I don't use DX10 - too many of my addons can't cope with it...

As far as I know, it is. I don't think Aerosoft does any FSX versions of aircraft that are not SP2 tested and approved. The product page also states that FSX (SP2 or Acceleration) is required. The Catalina is for FSX only so I would imagine it is not just a port-over type of model.I can check for you really quick though if you would like.
