May 9, 200917 yr Yup, I saw that yesterday! It was great news. I think lots of other developers see the potential of the PC, and how it is less restricted. I just some developers like EA would stop treating the PC community so bad, because we get horrible ports from console, and they are barely optimized (I heard GTA4 had horrible performance). Also Madden for the PC is a lot different than the consoles for some reason, and I mean different as in worse. The graphics look like something from 2002 honestly. While consoles get all the fancy stuff. PCs will always be superior and more powerful than consoles. Consoles are just a modified, less upgradable, PC anyway. May 9, 200917 yr Commercial Member Well, I was in Home Plus/Tesco the other day, and I've noticed that the PC games section seems to get smaller on a daily basis, yet the Wii and XBox section seem to be getting larger. B. York FS2Crew Web Site / FS2Crew Facebook Page / FS2Crew Discord

My local Game store has only two shelf sections for PC games, with the entire rest of the store being dedicated to XBox/PS2/PS3/Wii/DS/yah-de-yah-de-yah...Though I do own and love my PS3, I do think PC titles need greater exposure in-store!!

If it doesn't sell its shelf space is reduced to make way for something that sells better. That's why there are more console games than PC games on the shelves. Gerry Howard
May 11, 200917 yr A lot of the disappearance of PC titles is to do with buying habits of people, it's only natural that PC users are going to gravitate toward buying online, either in boxed form or as a download. Local shops are more likely to have sales influenced by the 'kids in tow with the parents demanding a new toy' type of scenario.Al Alan Bradbury Check out my youtube flight sim videos: Here

May 12, 200917 yr I wonder if these numbers take into account the relatively even split between 360 and PS3 (gotta throw in Wii as well)? I know EA does "The Sims" games which sell a gazillion copies. I see the same things at electronics stores... fewer and fewer PC games and more and more console games. I know downloading comes into play, but even there I'm not seeing many new PC games which aren't on console as well (and usually ported). As someone who has played PC games since they came in 5 1/4 inch floppy disks, I have to say that I'm still not encouraged by the direction of PC games. To be honest, if it weren't for flightsims, I wouldn't have a PC except for a cheap laptop for e-mail/Internet. As someone who has played sports games for years, they've been completely disappearing from PCs. First, baseball, then football, and now hockey. You simply cannot buy a big name baseball game on PC (other than those stat sims). Last year, Madden did not come out on PC at all, and this year hockey is going to be the same. These are all from EA by the way.It just seems every year there are less and less games that move the PC gaming industry forward. Flightsimming is stagnant and uncertain, and most everything else is just a newer version of the same old shooter or strategy type game. ------------------------- Craig from KBUF
