CaptainSim...You have to be kidding me.

So now you are going to release a 767? After your epic failure with the 757, you are now going to compete with LevelD...ha good luck. Now granted you are going to only make it for fsx, seeing as us fs9 users are few and far between and it's such an outdated platform. Perhaps you like the attention that you get when you put out a half baked product, and have thousands of people ticked off at you. Next you should do an MD-11 so you can compete with PMDG. Oh well...at least some people will be able to purchase a virtual widebody paperweight to go alongside the already useless 757The best thing about this post is that you (CaptainSim) cannot delete it. Yours truly,Matt :(

the already useless 757
It's not that bad. I bought it for E9.90 and I'm enjoying it (I even dusted off my TrackIR4!). :( As for the 767, well, I'm an FS9 simmer so I don't care. Do you?Best regards

No...I just find it funny that they are trying to compete with one of the best selling addons of all time, and wanted to express my opinion about it. Nothing more nothing less.Matt

they are trying to compete
Matt, the fact that there is one (surely excellent) 767-300 in the market (actually there's also Overland one) doesn't mean other developers can't make another. I see zero problem in it to be honest.Or maybe you like Captain Sim and are disappointed they are not doing something else? :( Best regards

It makes since for them to do the 767 seeing they already have the finished VC for the 757. These birds are the same on the inside. It's disappointing they are only doing this project for FSX but hey I have the Level-D version. It would have been better for them to release the different variants of the 767 like they did the 757 but that may come later. I find their 757 very good and use it often. I really can't understand what's the angst some have with the CS757 outside of the fact it took Captainsim forever to get the 'completed' product to market. We spent money a few times over for the various 'Block' systems only to find one complete version was offered in the end... I for one won't go down that road again. The only thing really missing as far as major airliners go in FS9 is the 717 and a decent Airbus package. If Aerosim can get their Airbus series to market and someone does a decent 717 there's nothing more airliner wise I need for FS9. I'm perfectly happy skipping CS's 767 in favor of Level-D's outstanding work... Let the FSX'ers have their development as that may be my sim in another 3 years if hardware can finally run that thing with add-ons properly... :(

Well he's right about one thing: CS has not done well with the 757 and has little chance of directly competing with LDS unless they get their Sierra togther. And FPS is gonna be a major factor.

If it's possible to merge the CS767 model with the LDS767 panel, I think you have a winner. Whatever you say about CS, you can't take away one thing: their aircraft models are superb. And, let's be honest, the LDS767's model is really outdated by now. I think we should give them a chance. And, I don't think their 757 failed. Not anymore anyway. The current FSX version seems to be great (of course, I have the FS9 version, but oh well). I guess CS is a bit like Microsoft: their stuff has only started getting good when the new version came out.Yeah, that analogy is not very good, but I guess you get the point.dilloll0: I trust you meant AirSimmer, right? Aerosim is a completely different thing, and hasn't done any Airbus to date.

I like the 757! :( I also own almost every heavy metal add on for FS9. I got the CS75' for 10 bucks and have to say that's a deal. Even has a decent FMC!

Ok...don't get me wrong. I like the visual model of the CS 757. It is by far one of (if not) the best available out of any payware addons. It is the functionality and realism perspective that I am talking about. I am a realist. I don't fly my planes from seat 10F, although I do enjoy the wing views quite a bit when it comes to replays. The 757 does an aileron roll better and faster than an F-4, and just to test my theory, I took the 757 (fully loaded) and did a high performance takeoff. After liftoff, I went vertical and got to 8,000ft before it stalled. Mind you, I was just under my v2 speed of 165kts and took off from KSEA. That is not realistic in my book. I won't even go into the fuel feed/burn, or the unbelievable amount of fmc related ctd's. I wish to no end that I could get this bird up and running straight, and I won't give up because, unlike the lucky ones who got the complete package for $10, I paid $60 for this girl. There are good things about the 757, but there are also some major bugs and flaws with it as well. And that is where CaptainSim needs to step up, grab the bull by the horns, and support the product that is (in my book) incomplete befor diving into new projects.Just my 2 penniesMatt

Sadly that's how CS has always done business. Ask those who bought the 707 some time ago...Speaking of the things you mentioned I don't hand fly the CS757. I found for the most part after takeoff using the autopilot and turning it totally off only at the end of a flight on the ILS approach just before landing works great for me. Real world airliners are rarely flown by hand unless your flying a visual approach or somethings wrong with the aircraft. Every FS add-on has it's faults but if one flies the CS757 the way pilots in the real world do I find it perfectly acceptable. After my last flight on a real world fully loaded 737NG I'd bet we'd all be surprised what the real birds can do if there were no FAA restrictions and passengers didn't have to be accounted for. From my experience in the military some of these unassuming airliners can do some amazing things if let loose. That aside I know the CS757 has it's problems but it's far better in my book that the overall package we got from PSS. Seeing as no one else is stepping up to the plate to do a better 757 (at least for FS9) I'm counting my blessings. For awhile there I thought the CS757 was going to be left in the dust without the promised 'Block F' add-on (adding all the promised realistic avionics) like what we've seen from them in the past. When CS came back and completed the project I was happy we didn't have another 707 on our hands. Under normal flight operations this bird is more than acceptable to me...One thing I would like to know is where in the contact points can one adjust the steering of an aircraft. The PMDG 737NG turns on a dime in FS9 but the CS757 slides around turns needing right/left brake to properly make a corner. I'm sure there's a setting somewhere that fixes this, if anyone know please let me know... :(

Matt, I am a purist as well, so I definitely understand where you are coming from. That being said, The 757 is known for it's great climb performance and other very cool "personality traits". I guess I'm just lucky I haven't ran into any problems with the bird like you have. I find hand flying it rewarding, btw! Maybe I'm just partial because since I was 8 I've been fascinated by the 75'. Either way I find CS support DESPICABLE, and I never have had any real problems with their products to need real support! :( The forums are a ghost town and e-mails go unanswered.

Hi.I have had a few CS planes, and to be honest I was disappointed, but kept grabbing one now and then to see if things had changed.Whilst I like their external models, thats about it.I did however like the cockpits of the B757, C130, B707, but they are still buggy to this day, and so is the B727.I was getting horrendous frame rates with the B757, so I deleted it off my system, thank goodness I got it in the sales.Just my opinion of course, but I have got lots and lots of other add ons to compare it to.

Steve.
