True. Rumor has it Flight1 is working on an FSX version of the Aeroworx King. I hope it's true as that is one great FS9 Kingair.

There's already one in the works...http://www.isdt-israel.com/sys/mboard/view...?f=10&t=196http://www.isdt-israel.com/sys/mboard/view...?f=10&t=224Flight 1 has one for FSX in the works, as well.. they acquired the source files from the Aeroworx package.Also.. FYI... the FS9 Aeroworx King Air works fine in FSX (including the VC)... it's not a native FSX model (i.e. self-shadowing) but it works and flies great in FSX! I fly it all the time! :(

Good to know. Thanks! I'll give it a try.

If you intend to use the EFIS version, it needs a lot of tweaking to get the PFD and ND to work in the VC in FSX.. but the analogue version ports over pretty seamlessly. (well.. it did for me, anyway)Just make sure that you start from the 2D panel FIRST... before switching to the VC. That initializes all of the gauges and switches. Otherwise, if you normally start FSX in VC view, you have to switch back to the 2D panel at least once, then back to the VC to initialize the gauges. The only downside is that the configuration tool doesn't work in FSX... at least I've never been able to make it work.I just copied the necessary gauges and folders from FS9 to FSX... no problems!

If you don't have the Aeroworx King Air, you are definitely missing out; it's one of the finest add-ons for FS ever.Al

I do have it on CD, how would I go about getting it to work in FSX?

I wonder if it would work similar to how the PMDG Beech 1900 works in FSX. The only difference is instead of placing the guages in the FSX Guages folder, I placed the guages in the PMDG Panel folder. Other than that, there is just a couple of lines to alter in the .cfg file.

Thanks for the reminder, hadn't thought of porting that one yet, loved it in FS9.

I echo Bonkster on using the FS9 Aeroworx King Air in FSX. It still works and is better than the nastiness. I use the US Navy and US Marine Corps repaints for most of my King Air flying.I did encounter panel issues when changing views in 2D panel, but I think I can work that out with FS Panel Studio or something with the panel configuration. But I do get good enough fps to enjoy it. Keith

As do I... in fact, I think I get better performance with it in FSX than I do in FS9!!

So with Ryan wondering about a King Air for FSX, I decided to try the AFG KA 300 freeware plane. I copied the whole folder over from FSP without any tweaking just to test it out. The view from the 2D panel showed just the world pane and no panel. Switching over to the virtual panel works remarkably well and looks pretty good though I did not get any screens of it (forgot all about it really). I did notice that the plane taxis really fast. One has to ensure that your controllers are calibrated before you start it up or you will have control problems. flying it is pretty smooth, but if you fly freehand, you have to pay attention to it.

Very happy to hear this. This was one of my favorites to fly in FS9. Can you review in detail how to install in FSX? Thanks you, Al
Mike,You make a very good point about the AFG King Air. No matter how you set yourself up this thing will taxi like a wild beast. I have never calibrated my throttles to have beta but sometimes when I pull power to minimum I get torque and rpm and sound that almost resemble what you might see when reversing prop pitch or something that I can't quite explain. But overall, I enjoy this one as well. I have a couple of nice wing views.Keith
Yes, I noticed the sounds at idle and the plane's need for speed, even at idle. That is why i am thinking of some tweaks for it, but where to start. I am good at adding paints, but other parts of the .cfg file, I do not mess with unless there are explicit instructions. Maybe I should do the trial and error method I used for modding the Rogue Spear weapons files I did some years ago.
