July 10, 200916 yr The FS9 version of Aeroworks works generally well in FSX. It works 95%. Some of the autopilot thing may not work, but I think I got most of working. I hand fly this most of the time and it looks as good as its in FS9.Manny Manny Beta tester for SIMStarter

July 11, 200916 yr I've never tried putting it into FSX, but from what everyone is saying I most certainly will be doing so.Al Alan Bradbury Check out my youtube flight sim videos: Here
July 11, 200916 yr I'm considering getting the Turbine Sound Studios (TSS) sound pack for the King Air and see what I get. The only thing I'm concerned with is that it is an FS2004 sound pack.Keith Keith Guillory
July 12, 200916 yr Mike,You make a very good point about the AFG King Air. No matter how you set yourself up this thing will taxi like a wild beast. I have never calibrated my throttles to have beta but sometimes when I pull power to minimum I get torque and rpm and sound that almost resemble what you might see when reversing prop pitch or something that I can't quite explain. But overall, I enjoy this one as well. I have a couple of nice wing views.KeithAs AFG changed their forums, I don't know how much of the old stuff is there, but in order to taxi it properly, you need to pull the condition lever down to minimum. It will taxi much better after that, and won't creep. I also suggest downloading the FSX conversion files I created if you haven't already done that. I think the link is still in the AFG forums. It includes a new model which fixes the click spots on the panels in the VC.I think it still needs some fixes for Acceleration (props, etc.). It's been a long time since I've taken a look at it. July 12, 200916 yr Make that condition lever at low idle. You won't get very far with it at fuel cutoff. For SP2, the panel.cfg file needs to be edited. Scroll down to the VCockpit01 section and change the lineBackground_color=175,175,175 to something like Background_color=175,175,175 whatever color (between 1 and 255 for each of r,g,:(.The props are funky in SP2 in external view. Using the FSX Default Kingair prop textures does not fix it, so I'm not sure what can be done at this point. Tom Perry
May 5, 201016 yr Hi, I dug deep and found this old thread, so why make a new one :( Since nothing has happend regarding the development of a native FSX King Air in the meantime, the Aeroworx aircraft remains the only alternative. Basically it works in my FSX, and I can live with the prop texture autogen remover, but there is one nasty thing: Whenever I click on a main panel gauge in the VC, the right power lever moves to full power (same in the 2D cockpit, but that is not an option anyway).Does anyone know a workaround for this problem? ThanksBoris
May 5, 201016 yr Author Forget about this thread!Hey, I just installed it from my old CD and it works alright. I have the same prop lever issues as you but it's really a non issue because my CH throttle overrides the input anyway. I am having issues with the autopilot. I can't seem to turn it on nor will the altitude selector work, niether will the big screen turn on... I think I'll try and use the default FSX c172 stack...FPS:I'm taking a large hit from the VC... about 30-40% fps lossExternal is worse - about a 50-60% fps loss compared to default king airI expected these results because it is a port... but this could be my new vatsim plane... it's a bit faster than the duke, but slower than the citation mustang hehe | My Liveries | FAA ZMP | PPL ASEL | | Windows 11 | MSI Z690 Tomahawk | 12700K 4.7GHz | MSI RTX 4080 | 64GB 6000 MHz DDR5 | 500GB Samsung 860 Evo SSD | 2x 2TB Samsung 970 Evo M.2 | EVGA 850W Gold | Corsair 5000X | HP G2 (VR) / LG 27" 1440p |
