August 8, 200916 yr Clean slate then. This add-on is fantastic. For the past few years I have started FSX, flown around for ten to fifteen minutes and eventually been distracted and wondered what was on the TV. I really thought the sim was dying a slow and painful death. Last night however I started FSX and couldn't believe it when I looked up and it was over an hour and a half later. I mean - my room was dark!! I had been completely immersed in the sim to a level I have never experienced before. I have bought a lot of add-on aircraft over the years and all of them have needed personal tweaks or official patches. This one however is perfect. I don't care if it's the last add-on aircraft ever released - I now have a reason to keep FSX on my hard drive forever! Thank you Lotus Sim for bringing a previously inconceivable sense of reality to FSX and for giving us a challenging but hugely rewarding aircraft to learn and fly :( By the way there are some excellent repaints being developed and previewed at the developers site and the usual other places. I have a feeling this is going to become the most painted add-on in history. Has anyone tried any formation flying with this yet? What multiplayer servers are people using with it?I'm not really the multiplayer type but I'm seriously thinking of buying this and FSX for my dad and my brother so we can chase each other round the Sonoran Desert.
August 8, 200916 yr I had a server up for a short while but only two others joined. It would be great to organize a L-39 formation flight. Anyone interested? Tired of Streetlights everywhere? Try MSFS DarkStreets today!
August 8, 200916 yr I will probably purchase in the next week or so. The repaints are spectacular, and the fact that people are reporting good FPS is a big help. Especially since my machine is getting to be on the older side of things hehe. The only thing I wondered is if Track IR is needed to really enjoy this bird. Anyone running it without TIR? An another note, I saw TIR + headclip for 120 bucks off the NP site.... it was 135 so thats cool.but if I get TIR I wont be able to get the L39 :(I'd like to see some screenshots of the VC posted in the forums!! | My Liveries | FAA ZMP | PPL ASEL | | Windows 11 | MSI Z690 Tomahawk | 12700K 4.7GHz | MSI RTX 4080 | 64GB 6000 MHz DDR5 | 500GB Samsung 860 Evo SSD | 2x 2TB Samsung 970 Evo M.2 | EVGA 850W Gold | Corsair 5000X | HP G2 (VR) / LG 27" 1440p |

I just put my earplugs in, turn the volume up and I'm there! As for VC shots - have a look at those videos - - great footage of the VC and a little more info on start up procedures etc.
August 8, 200916 yr Five of us including Mike have just spent 80 minutes or so flying in formation and having great fun, actually I should say 4 others were flying in formation and I was doing my best to keep somewhere close to them, lol. Cheers, Andy.

Never have flown multiplayer I am curious how you communicate with each other? Speech or text? Surely texting 'Break Left' would hamper the fluidity somewhat so it must be by speech?
August 8, 200916 yr Yes some were using voice, I was just listening because I forgot to set up my headset before joining the session :( Cheers, Andy.
August 8, 200916 yr I have a server up in the adventures area right now. Tired of Streetlights everywhere? Try MSFS DarkStreets today!
August 8, 200916 yr Can't say enough about the Lotus L39 AlbatrosI too want to add my praise to this aircraft. It is as close to the real thing as I have imagined a computer simulation could be. The lights, especially the landing lights, are just as real as looking out your car windshield at night. Along with the other features like rain and ice on the canopy, the feel of the flight model, the quality of the VC, and the external view, the Lotus L39 Albatros sets a new standard that is head and shoulders above anything else yet seen. It deserves to be recognized for the masterpiece it is. Well done Mike! You're the best.Stephen

But what I'm reading of the L39 aircraft makes me believe that even WITHOUT Microsoft, the wonderful developers of aircraft, scenery, and weather will absolutely PREVAIL! If we're getting raindrops and realistic lighting like what I'm reading about, then we're in good hands.I will be quick to download this plane as soon as mid-week. Keep up the good work, developers, because the future is indeed very bright with FSX and the potential that it has NOT YET reached.Stan
August 8, 200916 yr That's me in them pics :D (I'm the lead and the one doing crazy pilot)That was some fun flying. A great flight to end the day.Once it was over I joined Kiwicat for a while at Oshkosh.Dual seat long range model formations. Now that was a blast!:D
August 9, 200916 yr couldn't stand reading all these posts......was driving me NUTS......now the J41 from PMDG is going to have to wait a few months.....YUP i did it...I am downloading now.....oh boy oh boy oh boy........Gary
August 9, 200916 yr Commercial Member Thank you Spirit flyer and everyone else for the kind words, here and in the other thread, I really appreciate it.That was a fun flight, and nice shots Dougie.Mesa, I would HIGHLY recommend investing in a Track-ir, and certainly not just for the sake of the L-39, but for every single plane you have. It really does transform FSX into something utterly amazing, and makes everything so much easier and more fluid. The sense of 'being there' is awesome with it. I've had one for 5 years, on my second one now actually, gave my first to a friend, and I can't imagine ever flying without it again. The few times I have had to I always feel like I'm stuck in a tiny box, looking through a little hole.Get one, you will love it, I promise you. :)Thanks all,-Mike Mike Johnson - Lotus Simulations
