February 3, 201016 yr We now need a PMDG Airbus 320 as there is nothing out there of the PMDG standard for Airbus. Airsimmer, well they promised a lot but delivered very little. Sure a really nice looking Airbus but absolutely nothing related to the real FBW in terms of handling. By looking at their forum it's pretty much the general opinion, not mentioning the amount of bugs still unresolved.PMDG, the ball is in your side.
February 3, 201016 yr Well.. if its true that Airsimmer has reached a dead-end it would be just much better to sell the product to PMDG.Regards Márcio Nóbrega
February 3, 201016 yr I actually don't want to provide a negative image for Airsimmer but I was never convinced from day one that their product was on par with PMDG. I believe that PMDG is the standard for which virtual airframes are built. Any other company regardless of name has a mighty big bar to hurdle. As for an Airbus, I think our virtual community needs a realistic Airbus. I would love to get a chance to fly one. I just don't think PMDG is the company to make it. If they dont produce one it gives the other companies a chance to compete in the virtual market......some day the Airbus will see some justice I just think we have a long wait ahead! I also don't recommend holding your breath for the airsimmer, my intuition says "stay clear"
February 4, 201016 yr The flight simulation world would do great with a PMDG A330 series.Anthony Scott
February 5, 201016 yr I disagree. We most definately do not NEED an Airbus. There are many other planes I would like to see before I see an Airbus.I would never buy an Airbus add-on anyway, but I will most certainly buy PMDGs 737, and 777. That's why talking about this stuff generally is of no real use. There are those that that want an Airbus, and those that couldn't care less. I sort of belong to both camps, at the moment. I'd like to see PMDG do an Airbus, but right now there at least are some alternatives... For a good 737, Dash 8 and 777 we have no alternatives that really are up to par with PMDG's recent work in both systems and visuals. February 6, 201016 yr Okay, we certainly don't NEED any of this - we need world peace, food for everyone, the end of wars, full employment, etc. However, our hobby would be best served by not only variety but also a high-fidelity representation of the popular and prevalent aircraft that populate our skies in reality. So, I do agree, we could really USE the airbus family on the caliber of PMDG.Eric Marciano's work was actually pretty good, it just needed to be fixed and Wilco was/is a TERRIBLE, TERRIBLE, TERRIBLE steward of his work. AirSimmer? Too much hype, too much pomp-and-circumstance and not enough delivery. I mean, really... you do a pay-for-beta and this is still the best you can do? "Due to the world-wide financial crisis..." really? I think Air Simmer bought some big-boy's clothing, bragged about them, and then found out that they can't really fit those clothes.Anyhoo, I WOULD like to see a high-quality AirBus and I WOULD like to see PMDG rapidly expand their team by subsuming some of the promising talents out there into their shop. Clearly Robert has the required leadership and will ensure adherance to high standards. Jeff Bea I am an avid globetrotter with my trusty Lufthansa B777F, Polar Air Cargo B744F, and Atlas Air B748F.
