  1. Have we figured out what the issue is? If we are now required to sign up for an account, no problem.
  2. Thanks guys. I'll give it a shot. Fidel Lopez
  3. Hi everyone! I was having some serious control problems in cruise with the FS9 747-400. The plane could not hold altitude nor airspeed even at max throttle, and the autopilot was going haywire. By haywire, I mean the MCP speed was rapidly changing itself, various lights on the MCP were flashing, and basically the autopilot was useless. The pitch attitude was very high, which initially led me to believe the load/balance settings has somehow been corrupted in flight. However, the CDU indicated a CG % well within range every time. Researching the forums, I began to suspect the well known FS weather issues were the source. FSUIPC, according to most, would fix the problem, so I paid the $ to register FSUIPC. The issues appear to have stopped which confirms my suspicion that weather was the culprit. So far so good. :Praying:Now, I would like to optimize the FSUIPC settings, but I have been completely unable to find anything definitive in this or any other forum. Could somebody give me a list or screenshots of "optimal" FSUIPC settings for PMDG 747-400, FS2004, using Active Sky 6.5? Muchas GraciasFidel Lopez
  4. Ryan, here's a link to a post by Robert Randazzo. You may want to review. :( http://forums1.avsim.net/index.php?showtopic=264955Fidel Lopez
  5. What is a "hot start?" Manual warns against but doesn't explain it.Fidel Lopez
  6. Here's a shot of my new AA 737-800 with winglets (AAL 2099 KORD-KLAX level at FL340 200nm sw of ORD). Great looking plane I found on flightsim.com! Thanks for the help!
  7. Does anyone know where I can find the American Airlines 737-800 and Continental Airlines 737-7/8/900's with winglets? None of these versions on the PMDG website have winglets.Fidel Lopez
  8. How did you like those 17 inch wide seats!? I enjoy being the captain of PMDG Southwest 737-700 from the comfort of my office chair more than riding in the passenger cabin of the real thing. Also FYI, Southwest has a number of-300's with winglets. Not sure about the -500, however.
  9. With the 3GB sw, are you talking about the boot.ini switch? If so, you don't need that line in a 64 bit OS. However, you MUST set the Large address aware flag for fs9.exe in CFF explorer. After the upgrade (well, really it was a clean install) to Win 7 pro x64, I used CFF explorer to make FS9 large address aware. Since then, I have not had a single OOM. It completely 100% solved the problem. Hope this helps
  10. I went from XP Home 32 bit to Win 7 Pro 64bit. I am very pleased with Win7. Very few issues have arisen, and none of the issues relate to FS2004.OOM's were a crippling problem in xp 32 bit. With Win 7 64bit, I have not had a single OOM. In fact, (knock on wood) FS2004 hasn't even so much as crashed or locked up now that I think about it.FS2004PMDGLevel-DUT FSGlobalHigh density add-on airports (FLytampa, mega-airports, etc.)
  11. Rafael hit the nail on the head. No offense intended here, but one axiom is that pc enthusiasts doggedly pursue and purchase the newest, baddest, and fastest available. Just read the millions of posts from people who just couldn't resist upgrading to Win7 for no other reason than the fact that it's the newest OS from MS.
  12. I have asked Nick_N when he plans to release a tweak guide. His response is to wait until Win7 releases the first service pack update. Then he will begiin working on tweaks for Win7
  13. I am not very knowledgeable with respect to dual boots and partitioning of drives, but I can tell you this: you will get the MOST performance out of FSX and your Vraptor if you run FSX exclusively on the Vrap drive. Nick N has posted extensively on this topic and explains that for the best FSX performance from your drive, you should run FSX on its own drive (and a Vrap is the faster than any of the 7200 rpm drives.)
  14. I've had the same problem with Win7 Pro 64 bit and FS9. I will try this suggestion and let you guys know.
  15. I just upgraded from XP 32 bit to Win7 Pro 64 bit. OOM's were killing me so I need a 64 bit OS to better manage memory. I don't have everything in FS2004 set up yet, (re-installing everything is a major undertaking) but I like what I see in Win7 so far.FWIW, at this time I can't imagine why anyone would want to upgrade to Win 7 from WinXP 64bit. If it ain't broke, don't fix it!
