September 22, 200916 yr Hi Guys, There has been some debate (amongst our group) as to what the following are and I'd appreciate it someone could clear things up. - that ticking sound that comes on once you switch the power on (sounds like a fuel pump), what is it? what is it for?- the vspeeds for landing, I tried to searching the manual last night as to how the vspeeds should be used when landing. How should it be entered into the speed tape, - target speed first, (magenta)- Vref (blue)- V2 - incase of go around (white)- Vyse - incase of single engine (green)Is that correct? I am assuming target speed is approach speed and Vref is at touchdown? ThanksButch

September 22, 200916 yr Commercial Member The ticking sound you are referring to is the altimeter vibrometer - it's a small vibrating device that prevents the altimeter needle from getting stuck. Cheers, Henning
September 22, 200916 yr Author Thanks very much, I can't (won't) tell you how long I've spent looking for the switch to turn that errant pump off! Hehehe... Every now and then a developer releases a 'watershed' product that raises the bar, this one is one of them. Well done gents. CheersButch
September 22, 200916 yr Nice to know, as I thought it was some sort of analogue clock device for a few minutes, unitl I realised that the clock on the panel is digital... :(Thanks for the enlightenment on the speedbug set up for landing... landings in the JS41 are starting to look nice slowly, as I get the speeds nailed on final approach...Andrew Andrew Entwistle
September 22, 200916 yr I remember back in times, when PMDG 747-400 was released, exactly the same question came up. After many many many people complaining about the noise getting them a beep into their ears after three hours flight, they actually released a noise reduction fix, too. And the sound was located in the sound files and some guys truely renamed it to get rid of the ticking tearing their inner ears to pieces! Funny how every now and then, history returns with a vengeance.I actually enjoy the sounds inside the VC very much. I have the beep too after two hours sitting in the cockpit, but this way i save myself from getting the beep by my little son screaming all day Mario - Michael Pietzsch EDHM i5 2400 / MSI P67A-GD53 / 4GB Kingston RAM / Win7 x64 / Gainward GTX 560 Ti Phantom / 1TB Samsung Spinpoint Â

September 22, 200916 yr Is this thread regarding the J41? If yes, just checking, because I want to make sure I'm not missing some sounds on the MD-11. Rhett 7800X3D ♣ 96 GB G.Skill Flare ♣ Gigabyte 4090 ♣ Crucial P5 Plus 2TB
