December 5, 200916 yr Author I see the backup feature in Rex is not working. Running the feature does not restore my texture set to Pre-Rex. Does anyone know what file in the texture folder is for the overall sky? Does anyone know what file in the texture folder is for the overall sky?REX replaces stuff in your root texture folder, as well as the Scenery/World/Texture folder. For sky, it's the sky*.bmp files. There's about 250~ish of them! -feng
December 5, 200916 yr Author Thanks Feng I just bought 'Real Sky Pro Edition' to fix the background sky color. I'm sure I'm going to get a good fit with Rex now... December 5, 200916 yr Author Dillon,Best sky textures come from here:http://secure.simmarket.com/sl-real-sky-pro-edition.phtmlOnly thing i use from REX is clouds, water...but sky NO! Cause it look unnatural, at least to me.Thanks for the great advice. :( Rex in combination with RealSky Pro is fantastic to say the least... I only needed to replace the background day sky texture as Rex's Dusk/Dawn textures are more than adequate. December 5, 200916 yr Author Does anyone know what textures control Jet Black night??? Even though the option was unchecked REX still changed my night environment to Jet Black (night)... Why can't the options just do what's requested of them via the utility.... :( FS2020 Alienware Aurora R11 10th Gen Intel Core i7 10700F - Windows 11 Home 32GB Ram NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4070 Ti Super OC 16GB - Pimax Crystal Light VR

December 5, 200916 yr Do you also have an email address available for support? Personally, I'm hesitant to sign up at yet another forum to only use it once or twice. So I'd prefer email support, perhaps others do too. Mike...
December 5, 200916 yr I love the clouds, I love the water, but I too now look at the sky, and I'm not that pleased yet. I'll have to find a sky texture that is less vibrant. Fortunately, I have an entire database of REX textures to go, so I'll be busy for the next hour trying to find what I look for. December 5, 200916 yr I for one and really enjoying REX for FS2004. It really breathes new life into FS9 for me. I use ASA for weather and love the combination when used in conjunction with REX. The amount of color options for the phases of the dawn/day/dusk are awesome. I've been able to find texture sets that match up with what I am seeing outside almost perfectly. Are there bugs? Yes. But what new app/add-on/etc.. doesn't have them at release? Besides, the REX team will get the issues worked out. Thanks for the great add-on, Tim and Team. December 5, 200916 yr I'm not sure how much its realistic to expect from a product at this stage of FS9's existance. I mean the sim is about 6 years old now...how much real improvement can we expect from texture manipulation? Not to take anything away from REX. I just don't know how much better the sim can possibly look by adding another cloud/sky set and different water textures. I'm currently using Pablo Diaz's HD package and I love the clouds and skies I get from that. With AS6.5 and GE pro...well, I just don't think theres much more to be improved. I don't really see anything in any of the screens I've seen posted that looks appreciably different than what I've got... :( again, thats not a criticism of REX really. I just don't know how much more water can be squeezed out of the stone that is FS9...

December 5, 200916 yr What I'm really missing in REX (or perhaps I haven't had a chance to see it yet) is good solid overcast and solid culumnus fronts that FE implemented in a very good way. 9950X3D, X870E ROG CROSSHAIR HERO, Corsair Dominator Titanium 64GB DDR5-6000 PC5-48000, ASUS RTX 5070Ti 16GB, 9100 PRO 4TB Samsung ,990 PRO 4TB Samsung, AX1600i 1600 Watt 80 Plus Titanium ATX, ASUS 360 ARGB EXTREME 360mm Liquid CPU Cooling Kit.
December 5, 200916 yr Author Dillon,I answered your thread. Sorry, but the entire world is not on your schedule. We are all human, and need sleep to.Ark, thank you for your kind words sir.I'm sorry for my disappointment here as I do like this product overall it's just things like the GUI having a mind of it's own and the various sky textures (that had me buying yet another add-on to correct it) that threw me. You guys did a good job overall and I appreciate your continued FS9 interest. All will get figured out in due time it's just frustrating with some of these unexpected issues...I know many like the 'Jet Black (Night)' concept because in theory this is how it really is at night in the real world. This is true on the onset but Aces got this one right overall. Things in the cockpit and around the airport are very dark at night but your eyes adjust to a point what you get with Microsoft's default option is more of what you get in the real world. You can see pretty good at night especially in the cockpit without turning on the dome light to adjust various switches. No you won't see mountains ahead of you but in the confines of the cockpit you can see pretty good with minimal lighting... With 'Jet Black (Night)' nothing adjusts and you constantly see night as you would see it in the real world coming from a room with light into darkness...
