December 9, 200916 yr So you thought it would "fix itself after the transaction"?! Last time I recieved news of a sale event from them in my email, I purchased the 757 Pro AND the C-130 for FS9 at $9.99 each (Whata bahgain). Sorry you feel tricked or hoodwinked, but the prices are obviously marked in their store! :( Of course maybe it was executed a different way this time around? Good luck everybody. It's NOT $9.99 cents. It never was in any past promotions. It has been always 9.99 Euros. So check the conversions. Think it's going to cost around $15 for individuals using the US dollar. In any event, I repeat, I was tricked just like quite a few fellow simmers the last time. As many as 100 people might have been tricked like I was, maybe just me and 10 others. It doesn't matter. Just that some people got tricked and lost a lot of money on the past "sales" event. There are posts on AVSIM from individuals who were tricked like me the last time and they tried to get their money back or get the reduced price or cancel their credit card, but none of their efforts worked. CS personnel responded to several complaints and said they were not obligated to refund or give the sales price because they didn't click on the sales icon. I relented and paid the price for MY mistake. I think if you read the latest CS promotion post in the FSX Forum, you'll read about others who had been tricked the last time. Yet, I just wanted to post a friendly warning HERE to those who have NOT taken CS up on any sales event (obviously, those who were tricked like me know better). You must click on the sale icon to take advantage of the sale. Do not click on the Online Store tab and go directly to the store. Do not click on the 767 Icon on the main page then click Buy Now. You'll pay the full price. If the bottom line on your purchase does not come out to 9.99 Euros, log off and start another purchase. You will need to make sure you watch the time of the sale as CS is located in Russia, not the USA. So be careful. There's a time zone change. It's a great sale event for those who would like to cheaply purchase some nice products from CS. I have the 757 and the C-130 and very happy with both of these aircraft. I DO NOT plan to add to my CS collection this time around though as I already have the LevelD 767 and I have flown the 727 and that aircraft was not fun to fly. When they come out with the B-52, I might consider purchasing from them again.Best regards,Jim
December 9, 200916 yr Erm, the only email I got, is about a sale on the 11th of december! The sale was NOT on the day of the email! Look at the email again, and you'll see it says the 11th! Gavin Barbara Over 10 years here and AVSIM is still my favourite FS site :-)
December 10, 200916 yr Yes, December 11th... they use Zulu times so everyone is in the same boat... we don't have to work out where exactly CS are, in what time zone. Just check your Zulu times...I got this e-mail as well. It was clearly stated that the sale is on the 11.12.2009 from 00:01Z to 23:59Z and only at the CS online store...As much as there has been a lot of bad press about CS in the past, I think the e-mail is quite clear. The date of the sale is actually mentioned twice....I feel for anyone having thought the sale was immediate and went on to purchase at the standard rates, but one is responsible for one's own actions. The website currently makes no mention of the sale as far as I could see just now, probably because the date is still 10.12.2009... And one is always offered a page to confirm the details of the purchase before actual purchase occurs. If that displays the wrong price, then don't purchase.CaptainSim are under no obligation to refund because you misread or failed to read the date of the sale. I don't see how one can say that CS are trying to dupe anyone here...The e-mail was sent out to their mailing list. They are a company aiming to generate turnover like anyone else. They are under no obligation to announce the sale publicly on their site or any where else for that matter, but did so to their mailing list.I have been thinking about picking one of them up, but will probably pass... the LDS757 is probably more what I am looking for, and I have enough to play with for months currently, both FS9 and X... December 10, 200916 yr Regarding buying online, in general I have found paying by Paypal to be safer and always use that method when the seller offers it as an option. I tend to be cheap and buy even household items online if they are real bargains. Even several heavy bags of special flours every 3 months for making daily bread (from a supplier that offers free shipping on everything they sell most of which is very light weight but they also stock flour)! Out of hundreds of purchases I got ripped off 3 times, and paypal refunded me in full every time I filed a Paypal dispute. Once item never arrived. One item arrived but not to me, the seller sent it to another of their customers by mistake. One heavy 60 pound piece of electronics where our claim was that it was probably damaged by the carrier using xrays for parcel inspection.Full restitution by Paypal, three out three! 5800X3D, RTX4070, 600 Watt, one or two 1440p 32" screens, 64 GB RAM, 4 TB PCle 3 NVMe, Warthog throttle, VKB NXT EVO stick, Honeycomb Alpha yoke, CH quad, 3 Logitech panels, 2 StreamDecks, Desktop Aviator Trim Panel. Crystal Light VR.
December 11, 200916 yr I just picked up the 767-300 base pack and freighter expansion. Be sure to click on the sale banner on the top of the main page on Captain Sim's website. Regarding buying online, in general I have found paying by Paypal to be safer and always use that method when the seller offers it as an optionAs far as I'm aware Paypal's protection guarantees only apply when you purchase through Ebay. I frequent another forum for scale models, and there is a trade section there where members can buy and sell their kits. A member put a sales listing up with quite a few kits, and made around 15 or so sales, totalling more than Nick
December 11, 200916 yr I was going to buy the C130 but for an additional 10 euro I think I am going to buy it from Flight1. I like and trust them better. Also if the C130 is junk, I can return it.JimCYWG
December 11, 200916 yr But isn't the sale in December?Yeah, I saw that mistake and went to correct it, but found that I couldn't edit my own post any longer.Looks like all purchase links point to the sale site.
