May 6, 201016 yr Believe me, we know about how cramped it is haha. I had neck/back pain for several days from contorting myself into weird positions to get the correct angle on the texture photographs. I had this whole plan beforehand where I was gonna use a tripod etc, it wouldn't even fit in the doorway! Ended up doing everything by hand from very odd positions. One thing that really struck me was how small the front windows seem when you're actually sitting in the seat looking through them. It's not a very high visibility cockpit out the front at least.Don't see any PMs from you, resend, it might have gotten deleted by accident before I read it.Yes the door is not for wide people - it's really small! And yes - the windows actually surprised me the first time I sat there as well. However, you get used to it - and it really is a nice cockpit, as well as charming. I would always go for the Boeing cockpit. They're just great.Nevertheless it looks like you did your photo session quite well!I will resend that PM.Kristian N Kristian Nørregaard737, 777 and 787
May 6, 201016 yr Dear Vin,Thanks for the posting these lovely screenies.I have a couple of questions if you can answer them.1. I think it was mentioned that there will be a 2D panel. Yipeeeeee!!. I assume you will also be doing an FO panel, like the 747 and MD11. In the old NG, you had modeled the master caution annunciator such that all 12 annunciations were displayed on the one unit, presumably due to the lack of an FO panel. I was wondering what approach you are taking for the NGX ? Will it be similar to the MD11 where we have the click spot to "slide" the MCP left, whereby displaying the whole unit ? Otherwise, in the 2D panel how will we know if there is a master caution annunciation on the FO side. Yes, the Master Caution lights on both sides will illuminate, and if we dont see anything on the Capt Annunciator panel it is obvious there is a warning on the other (FO) side. Just curious how you are going to go about it.2. I am very curious as to what FMC update you are basing your sim on? I think the version 10.8 was rolled back to 10.7 due to some glitches. Thanks and keep the previews coming :)Dinshaw Parakh.
May 6, 201016 yr Believe me, we know about how cramped it is haha.On the older Classics, there was a mod for the forward bulkhead which required being stuffed into small spaces, it gets even more cramped below the floor.

Just curious how you are going to go about it.The PMDG NG 2.0 (or NGX) is a complete rebuild from the ground up. There are 6 annunciations per side, and although we have yet to implement it, we will probably go for the "slide" option that existed in the MD11.2. I am very curious as to what FMC update you are basing your sim on? I think the version 10.8 was rolled back to 10.7 due to some glitches.I'll leave this answer up to another team member.... May 6, 201016 yr One thing that really struck me was how small the front windows seem when you're actually sitting in the seat looking through them. It's not a very high visibility cockpit out the front at least. So glad to hear a developer say that regarding how small the forward cockpit windows are. I'm always disappointed by how huge the windscreens are modelled on 99% off aircraft addons for FS. It really ruins the immersion of feeling like you are enclosed inside of something. It's the first thing I always notice whenever I have the opportunity to be in a real airliner cockpit. Hope to see some nice wide and thin windshields on this upcoming 737 now! i7 2600k @ 5.1Ghz, ASUS Sabertooth P67, 8GB Corsair Vengeance DDR3 1600Mhz, EVGA GTX 580 @ 950MHz, OCZ Vertex II 240GB, ASUS Xonar DG, Thermaltake Toughpower XT 875W PSU, Antec KÜHLER 620 W/C, Corsair 600T SE White My FS9 Screens - http://fs9screens.blogspot.com/ Callum Richardson
May 6, 201016 yr YES!!!!!!! I sat in a WestJet 738 at YXU once and I could not believe how small the view out the window was, I almost laughed. I also sat in a Delta 764 at DTW a few weeks back and had the same feeling that everything was tight and small and you had to move around alot to look outside of window. LD 767 did a decent job of that but still not good enough>Aerosoft Airbus has the same problem, it seems as if the windwos are way way to big. I didn't mention it to them because its going to be a dumb down version of the bus which I'm not into but w/e. May 6, 201016 yr That's been a grand tradition with Boeing for years to have small cockpits, from what I know of it, although with the NG, it is slightly more of a contortionist act to get into position thanks to the remodeled central pedestal compared to the earlier 737s. The Grand Prize for cramped cockpits in big aircraft for me is a flip up between the AVRO Vulcan (smacked my head a lot in that thing) and the Consolidated B-24 Liberator, which has an unbelievably tiny cockpit for a four-engined aircraft.Back on topic though, I don't see why people should feel the need to be partisan about this or that FS 737 from this or that developer, especially a freeware developer. I really like the 737 very much indeed, and I'm just happy that another one is going to be kicking about, since I'd cheerfully check them all out. Now if PMDG would make a 200ADV, that would really be something. Yeah I know, doubtful, but not doubtful where freeware developers are concerned (i.e the Tin Mouse), so freeware developers do indeed have their place, and I'm glad that is so.Can't wait for you guys to shove that NGX out the hangar door, looks like you are doing an amazing job of it.Al Alan Bradbury Check out my youtube flight sim videos: Here
May 6, 201016 yr We can move the HUD up and down in the real one. So if you don't want to look at it - simply bend it up.Kristian N Jordan Forrest
May 6, 201016 yr Hello,is there a posebillity that all the updates and teasers can be uploaded in to an separate topic were only moderators can replay to keep it a bit more clear for those how don't have time to read all the comments?thanks very much in advance!
May 6, 201016 yr New Russian Airlines NordStar http://www.flugzeugbilder.de/show.php?id=938085 i think its an beutiful paint sheme fo a B738W!http://www.flugzeugbilder.de/show.php?id=916335best regards Christian Urban Munich

It's the first thing I always notice whenever I have the opportunity to be in a real airliner cockpit. Hope to see some nice wide and thin windshields on this upcoming 737 now!Do keep in mind though that you can never 100% exactly simulate that "feeling like you are enclosed" on a computer monitor, it's just the nature of the beast. Sitting in the real thing with your peripheral vision, the sense of depth etc are all things that are very hard to replicate. Even if the model is completely accurate in terms of the dimensions (which it will be), it still isn't going to perfectly replicate the way sitting in the real thing looks. You're taking something that consumes your entire visual field of view in real life and trying to condense it down onto a small video screen...Thanks!Can someone from PMDG comment on the model? ThanksI can't imagine the HUD will not swing up and down like it does on the real thing. Ryan MaziarzFor fastest support, please submit a ticket at http://support.precisionmanuals.com
May 7, 201016 yr I think its an problem on the taxiway (with the HUD) , i think swing up and down the HUD it s the same with an sunshild ! The carenado cessna can it ,and Ariane Boeing too!You must kick Ariane design ;)!! I need no Open and close Windows in the cockpit , but the HUD movable its more realistik i find tis not so difficult for PMDG team ;)! i hope so Thanks!Best regards Christian Urban Munich
