Is there any way to stop FLX playing the (annoying) music when it's starting up - other than by having to turn the sound down and then up again?

Is there any way to stop FLX playing the (annoying) music when it's starting up - other than by having to turn the sound down and then up again?

Start FSX goto settings > sound > disable play user interface sound / musicCheers,

I'm embarrassed to remember how long it took me to work that one out, but what a relief it was! :( The 'music' they chose is awful, and totally unnecessary.

That was the first thing I did when I ran FSX for the first time. Why they ever did that I really don't know.You can replace the music files with something you like if you want to though. can't remember what format they are in offhand though.Perhaps someone might like to suggest a good track or two - related to flying of course :( IAN

Oh Tim, the music is kind of neat......for the first sixty seconds or so... :( I'd much rather had the time that duff idea took invested in actually fixing some of the other bits that either got left out entirely, or were broken, or were only partially fixed.One that immediately comes to mind is the "broken" feature: "Pilot Controls Lighting..." It miffs me to no end that FSX auto-toggles the bloody panel lights on!

Then I think you're owed a debt of thanks!One thing they might have had instead of music - a selection of engine sounds. Perhaps an airport theme with jets spooling up and taxiing, a wartime air display theme with Merlins and Wright-Cyclones, or maybe sounds at a flying club. Something to get you in the mood..?Ian
