January 27, 201016 yr Start FSX goto settings > sound > disable play user interface sound / musicCheers,I'm embarrassed to remember how long it took me to work that one out, but what a relief it was! :( The 'music' they chose is awful, and totally unnecessary.
January 27, 201016 yr That was the first thing I did when I ran FSX for the first time. Why they ever did that I really don't know. You can replace the music files with something you like if you want to though. can't remember what format they are in offhand though.Perhaps someone might like to suggest a good track or two - related to flying of course :( IAN Ryzen 5800X3D, Nvidia RTX5080 - 32 Gig DDR4 RAM, 1TB & 2 TB NVME drives - Windows 11 64 bit MSFS 2024 Premium Deluxe Edition Resolution 2560 x 1440 (32 inch curved monitor)

January 28, 201016 yr Hey All,Believe me, I fought hard to keep the click sounds/music out of the UI, but lost that battle. I did insist on the checkboxes to turn them off though, they weren't in the original design :->Tim Tim http://fsandm.wordpress.com

It miffs me to no end that FSX auto-toggles the bloody panel lights on! Fr. Bill AOPA Member: 07141481 AARP Member: 3209010556 Avsim Board of Directors | Avsim Forums Moderator

I did insist on the checkboxes to turn them off though, they weren't in the original design :->TimThen I think you're owed a debt of thanks! One thing they might have had instead of music - a selection of engine sounds. Perhaps an airport theme with jets spooling up and taxiing, a wartime air display theme with Merlins and Wright-Cyclones, or maybe sounds at a flying club. Something to get you in the mood..?Ian
