Attention FS2Crew users and Maddog Drivers:I'm proud to announce that the Maddog version is now available for sale on our website!!!To reward our loyal FS2Crew customers, a special coupon code is available to anyone who has every purchased an FS2Crew product before. The coupon code is: PREVIOUS OWNERThat will give you 25 percent off. Just type the code in the Coupon Box on the Checkout screen in our E-Commerce system.Important: The code expires Feb 21st, so act now to take advantage of the code.General Product Notes:FS2Crew adds a complete flight, cabin and ground crew to your Leonardo Maddog 2008 aircraft.Users assume the role of the Captain/Pilot Flying in the simulation, and interact with the flight, cabin and ground crew using Voice Control. For the First Officer position, we have a large international voice set:UK, US, Italian, Finnish, French, German, Spanish, Irish and Dutch. The United States and Finnish Voices were recorded by real-world MD80 pilots. The French FO position was recorded by a French female, and this is the first time in FS2Crew's history we've had a female voice for a flight crew position. She sounds very good, and you'll enjoy flying with her.For the SOPs, we had a Finnish real-world MD80 FO on staff. He was extremely active during the product development and beta testing, so you'll find that the Maddog version is technically quite accurate and immersive. The Maddog was a great plane to work for FS2Crew because a semi-SDK is available for the aircraft. We were able to write to the vast majority of the buttons on the controls on the aircraft without using any simulated mouse clicks. That's a real huge plus. Davide from Leonardo was also very helpful in assisting FS2Crew integrate with the aircraft. The Maddog is a complex aircraft and you will need to read the manual. There's no getting around it!If you have any questions, feel free to ask them here.FS2Crew aims to provide the best support in the business!I'll finish with a description of the new Maddog version from our on-staff real-world Maddog FO.He's flies the Dog for real, so he's in a better position to judge than anyone:"I am an active MD80/90 pilot flying in a European airline, and took part in the development process for the FS2crew for the Maddog. When I saw the final result I must say I got very surprised about the level of realism, and detail. Numerous aspects have been considered concerning the operation of this specific aircraft type, from normal airline operation to realistic SOP handling and crew interaction. All this definitely makes out of this release the most complete multicrew package available, specially for the MD80 series aircraft." -S. Sutinen samuli30.jpgHave fun talking to your "Dog"!

Great news Bryan, only one problem. The web site seems to have a problem. I get to step 2 "use existing address" and just hangs and eventually give "an error occured, try again". Bummer.. :( Mike B.

Amazing job. Voice recoqnition works really well. Can't imagine flying without this anymore. :)

Hi Bryan,Is voice control required for the product? Thanks, Bruce.

ASEL, Instrument.

Hey Bryan, after years of dealing with texture corruption and black disappearing screens with complex aircraft I have switched to XP 64, I absolutely love it, and have not had any problems with fsx since. But reading your release notes it seems like this is not going to work on my system, I already have the 737 voice commander for 2004 but have yet to reinstall my 2004, I suppose that will not work either, I don't know why if XP 32 supports SAPI why they left out that support in XP 64. :(

Hi Bruce,You need a microphone or preferably a headset. You literally 'talk' to the crew in this version of FS2Crew.You can pick one up at any computer store fairly cheap.Best,

I don't know why Microsoft never updated SAPI to work with the 64 bit version of XP. Only MS knows that one.But why would you switch to XP 64?Windows 7 is the way to go. You can get an OEM 64 bit version of Win 7 Home for around $100.Best,

When you talking about SAPI what are you talking about. I'd like to get FScrew for the Maddog but my computer is running under XP 64. What won't work exactly? Thanks and regardsLmaire

If you're running Windows XP, you need to install SAPI... that's Microsoft's Speech Recognition Engine. Now, you can do that in XP 32 Bits.But... Microsoft never made a version of SAPI for XP 64 Bits.So you cannot use XP 64, only XP 32.There's no problem with Vista or Win 7 64, only XP....However, as mentioned before, Windows 7 is really the way to go. Just make sure you get either the Ultimate or English version so you can set your Speech Recognizer to English - US.Best,

The reason is that with Vista and W7 there are huge problems with texture corruption when flying complex addons ie leveld and pmdg. I have dealt with those problems since buying Vista, apparently the problems are the same for W7, there is a thread on the PMDG forums. XP 64 has cleared all these issues up for me, some experts say its something to do with not having dx10 sound support (something like that ) some also suggest turning down the sound quality to around 8000 mhz which for me is not possible my mobo does not support that, the lowest I can go is 16 bit 41000 mhz, http://forums1.avsim.net/index.php?showtopic=249782However this is my new question, I installed the MS speech sdk 5.1 on my pc, I able to use speech recognition to train a profile, it recognizes what I say. So why won't it work.

Hi Ian,If you somehow managed to install SAPI in Win XP 64, then I guess you're in luck... maybe... but I can't explain it.If FS2Crew Voice actually works after installing SAPI in XP 64, let me know.
Hello BruceAnother great product. I was looking forward to the release of the fs2crew for the maddog. The maddog is one of my favorite plans to fly. So after purchasing it today, I was shocked to find out that it does not work with XP 64. I, Like others who posted above have had may problems with Vista, Win7 and FSX. and I finally bought XP 64 and used a duel boot system. XP64 for FSX and Win7 64bit for everything else. I downloaded the SpeechSDK51.exe from the link you provided anyway and was able to install it without any problems. The "Text to Speech" tab in the Speech Properties box from the control panel still is not there, however now when I load up the maddog and the FS2Crew Panel, the Voice button is now active and FS2crew responds to my voice commands. :( I don't seem to have a way of training my voice with windows, however, being Canadian and English is my first and only language, Its seems to recognize everything I say without too much trouble. So It looks like it can work for some with Windows XP 64bit.I have FS2Crew for the PMDG 747, MD 11, Level D 767 and I really liked the way you did it for the MD11, But this voice recognition is pretty neat. Thanks again for a great product. :( :( B) Rick

If you want to train your voice go to control panel, in the control panel there is a folder called X86, in that there is another speech icon, open that one and you will see an option to train your profile.

Thanks Ian for the tip. I shall give that a go.Rick
