Really? :( We can't seem to get through to developers that to run FSX that a virutally new computer system is required. In my case I have close to $10,000 invested in hardware and software to run flight sim. I run 4 monitors, three video cards, external flight sim hardware and some pretty heavy duty software add-ons. I have FSX, I loaded it and removed it. It just kills my frame rates making it completely unuseable for my system. I checked with my local computer store owner/friend and I can't use hardly any of the hardware I have, not even the case!! (power supply is way too small). To run FSX is not like in the past flight sim updates where a little more RAM or a new video card will do the trick, you need a MAJOR upgrade to run FSX.Nope, it's gonna be FS9 for some time for me..Mike B.

My desktop is a HP quadcore AMD with 6 gigs ram and a GeForce 9800GT video card. I get frame rates of 5-6 and also have NHancer running. I paid to have a FSX config file made for my system and still only get 5-6 fps,so I mainly run FS9. JeffG

No its not a scam,I would have to look up who did the cfg as it was last year. I have no idea why I run so slow but even with 3 reinstalls its the same so I now just live with it. Jeffg

Jeff,Have you put up posts in the Avsim hardware forum?I'm sure someone could solve your hardware problem.On a machine like that you should be getting 30 plus fps with pretty well all sliders right (or close to right).

Hi Bryan, I have posted at the FSX and Hardware forums and have tweaked the cpu but still the same outcome. I would be happy with 12-15 fps but I can not figure out what could be happening. Hi Jeff,Maybe try to lower your bufferpools setting.Mine is set at 500 000 and it works good in FSX.Some people said that setting it up at zero could also boost FSX. It is worth trying...

FS9 all the way for me. FSX is unstable and has awfull frame rates and now that MIcrosoft is no longer developing FS series I might as well stay with FS9.I have the PMDG J41 and it looks really good but atm with my current PC I have no way to fly it without it going at a slideshow pace. The maddog is a little better but still no so good.In FS9 I get 22fps locked and it never ever ever goes below this even when Running ASE the MD11 Radar contact and FSCREW will details and AI traffic at full.In the far future maybe I will have a PC that can handle it but for now and the next few years its gotta be FS9Andy

FS9 all the time evenf if I have FSX installed but I am agree with the most people here. It is still unstable, hard to configure, complex even when you have a good pc... Im wonder why after so many years it is on the market.I use it sometimes but it is so heavy... a rock... very boring....Raffaele.
