February 26, 201016 yr hi i buyed the PMDG MD-11X its the best plane out there!but when i wanna pushback with reverse thrust the plane does not pushbeck i activate pushback 50%N1 reverse thrust but the plane does not pushback???is that normal,i mean planes can psuhback with reverse thrust.Yunus

You should be using the pushback command in the FMC or just press ######+P. I have never tried it personally, but I have on the runway and it does in fact push me back. i9 10920x @ 4.8 ~ MSI Creator x299 ~ 256 Gb 3600 G.Skill Trident Z Royal ~ EVGA RTX 3090ti ~ Sim drive = M.2 2-TB ~ OS drive = M.2 is 512-gb ~ 5 other Samsung Pro/Evo mix SSD's ~ EVGA 1600w ~ Win 10 Pro Dan Prunier
February 26, 201016 yr I laughed when I read this post because I thought 'that's ridiculous, pushing back with reverse thrust' but after having a look round the net have found this is common practice with some of AA fleet. They apparently only do this with the md-80 and he f100. However I think it is also down to individual airport policies due to the risk of FOD and risk of injury to ground staff and damage to buildings, plus the cost of the fuel. I couldn't imagine this being done in an md-11 though because it's a very heavy aircraft. To the OP, try an empty load with little fuel and see if the plane rolls back with reverse then? Gavin Price
February 26, 201016 yr i only had asked.an md-11 should be able to pushback with reverse thrust i only had wanna know if its possible tu pushback with reverse thrust in the MD-11X but again thanks. Yunus Aktas
February 27, 201016 yr Just a simple question. Why would you do that with reverse??? You can do it within youre FMS! Aircraft with engines under the wing won't do it. Aircraft like DC-9, MD-80 and Fokker 70/100 don't have the problem to suck up all kind of dirt etc. to save theire engines.John
February 28, 201016 yr Just to add my thoughts than the pilots will need rear view mirrors as well, mite be an idea for pmdg to fit mirrors on the outside for reversing. :( I7-8700k,Corsair h1101 cooler ,Asus Strix Gaming Intel Z370 S11 motherboard, Corsair 32gb ramDD4,, gtx 1080ti Card, RM850 power supply Peter kelberg
February 28, 201016 yr Does the PMDG simulation include a 'beep-beep-beep' when backing?? Dan Downs KCRP
March 2, 201016 yr Quick quiz to test your knowledge of the arcane: Which commercial airliner allowed Reverse Thrust...in flight? :( First to answer gets...well, nothing but pride and accolades for knowing airliner trivia! My guess is it won't take long for PMDG'ers! :( Cheers!

March 2, 201016 yr I'm pretty sure it was the DC8 but I'm probably way off...Hmmm...not sure about the DC-8. Interesting - maybe someone can weigh-in on that? But no - another airliner I have in mind...and it was more recent than the DC-8 (there's a small hint right there!)*** Update: I need to sign-off until 2100 UTC. Keep up the guesses - BRB! ***

March 2, 201016 yr The NASA Gulfstream does it while simulating a shuttle approach.True! That's a good example. But I'm looking for a commercial airliner that uses (on every flight, btw...another hint!) reverse thrust in flight...Again, good one on the Gulfstream.
