Orbx PNW cool sites to see..

Featured Replies

How about a thread of cool discoveries you have made with the Orbx PNW scenery? There is so much to discover and so much detail in this package I'd hate to miss something.I'll start off with the Columbia River Gorge which is spectacular-and this animated lock I flew over a few minutes ago.

Hey Geofa,I believe that is the Bonneville Dam. I have really been having a blast exploring this scenery package.

Great shot. Some comparisons with default scenery and that of other packages can be seen here, as already mentioned in another thread.

Here is another one I found. Smoke and an animated guy waving for help-I assume hoping a helicopter might drop in?

Pretty neat! I doubt he's waving for help but just waving at anyone flying over. His mission is to sit in the Ranger tower and report whenever a massive explosion occurs on Mt St Helens. :( I guess he's out on a break... Great thread you started Geoff!Best regards,Jim

Any hints as to what airport one should depart from to get here? This area is new to me (I'm a fellow Michigan simmer), but I'm loving the vast expanse to explore. Thanks!Jesse

Try Portland Troutdale and follow the river east or takeoff from the Dalles and go West. For the waving guy-takeoff from Snohemish and head east for the biggest Volcano.

Geofa,I've been flying around the mountains near Seattle. This is just remarkable scenery. There are so many unique things that I've seen that I would have to take a picture ever minute in flight.Nice pic.

That is true. It would be to cool at least list some of the more interesting features simmers find. I am surprised at the detail at smaller airports-as mentioned the Tillamook Air museum building is there. The waving man on the mountains is pretty hard to find-I just stumbled on it.

My son lives in Portland and I have made the approach, for real, many times to KPDX 28R, and it is just beautiful both in this scenery and in real life. It follows the Columbia River Gorge with the beautiful mountains off to your right.

I think I may have to get this Howard...it looks unbelievable. The only issue is what if I don't want to fly anywhere else anymore? Oh well I guess I may just have to be spoiled.

Tillamook is on my short list of high-def airports to do for FTX. I dig that huge former blimp hanger turned museum.

I looked for it to add to Twin Oaks, but could never find it. If you have coords, I'd be happy to try again.
