No. Should be added to the Terrain section. Have you tried to add NoBlackScreensAndNoArtifacts=1 to the Display section?

There's a lot of speculation and opinion in that 14 page Bufferpools thread. Is there any factual performance increases by using the BP settings within FSX?

Where have you guys been, the true holy grail for FSX has been to add the following line under the [Terrain] section of the config:5GHZpeformanceemulation=TRUE

And some CAPITALS AND BOLDS too !!! :(Jose, I've got a 2Gb card and get the same artifacts with BP=0 so, save your cash for next CPU generation...maybe!:--)

When next gen processors and GPU's come along, there will be little point in tweaking (HAHA I doubt it, because then will come ORBX FTX SuperHD). On and on she goes! She will stop though with Super High Speed Internet and streaming 1cm/pixel, 1m terrain mesh, scenery. At that point it will be all about the aircraft and other immersion addons as the rest will have achieved Flying Nirvana, and how to keep up with your subscriber service costs!Noel

It attempts to deal with stuttering, but on my 2Gb 285GTX it just makes a ton of spikes and I get frequent Black screens flying into places like FSDT Kord.So I'm not using it and get better results just leaving the line out, I think I need a different card or smaller but faster memory maybe?Not touching that shader tweak, what a mess.Doesn't it make you laugh reading that thread when some come into it and report that they got big FPS increases! Totally reliable thread! LOL!

I have a 2 GB GTX 285 and I see a huge boost, but I had spikes/flashes, then I went to WinXP64 problem solved, I even upped my REX clouds, then I moved up to my regular 28" monitor, then more spikes and flashes in dense weather, then I went back to 1024 clouds, problem solved. Back and forth back and forth, I feel like I am trimming a plane, every new flight condition means new settings.But on the whole I am thrilled with the tweak.
