March 13, 201016 yr doesnt say what airport to start at. i started at seatac but it was default scenery. instructions are lacking or i am missing where it says? Not sure about the demo, but in the full version, there's an 'FTX Central', with some large icons for 'Default FSX' scenery, and 'North America' scenery, which is for the PNW stuff. If you have that, make sure it's set to North America. i7-920 @ 3.2ghz | 6GB OCZ DDR3 @ 1600 mhz | GTX 580 1.5 GB | 1TB WD; 750GB WD | X-Fi Audio | 24" Dell LCD | X52 Flight Controller | REX-GEX-UTX-FTX
March 13, 201016 yr Server must be getting slammed, tried to download several times without success :( Guess I'll try later when things settle down somewhatSteve Steve Corzine
March 13, 201016 yr Still don't know what's causing the exception I am seeing, so in the interim I manually edited my scenery.cfg to point to the demo scenery and I am exploring the area now.-John

March 13, 201016 yr Commercial Member Seattle and KSEA are _not_ in the demo area. There is an included KMZ file in the demo ZIP file, which we recommend you load into Google Earth to see the extents of the demo area (the Olympic Peninsula outlined with a red boundary). We also recommend reading the User Guide :( Cheers, John Venema

March 13, 201016 yr I downloaded it and checked the .pdf manual. There is no mention of "uninstall" or "remove" at all. I can't bring myself to install this demo because I have FSX running very well after months of playing with settings. Can someone please post here some feedback once they install, check it out, and uninstall this demo somehow (control panel or otherwise)? I am too chicken to mess with a good thing.

I am too chicken to mess with a good thing.Someone can correct me if I'm wrong, but I'm pretty sure removal is as simple as deleting the Orbx subfolder from your FSX folder. Also, just a suggestion, but you might want to mirror your FSX folder to another hard drive. After spending weeks getting mine setup to where I was finally happy with everything, I copied the fsx folder to another drive for safe-keeping. Too much time & effort went into making that just right. i7-920 @ 3.2ghz | 6GB OCZ DDR3 @ 1600 mhz | GTX 580 1.5 GB | 1TB WD; 750GB WD | X-Fi Audio | 24" Dell LCD | X52 Flight Controller | REX-GEX-UTX-FTX
March 13, 201016 yr Commercial Member Uninstalling is done in two simple steps:1. Run the included FTX Central tool, select 'Default'2. Delete the ORBX folderThis of course assumes you don't have any other Orbx addons installed. Cheers, John Venema

March 13, 201016 yr Any thoughts as to why I am seeing the exception I reported above?Regards,JohnHi John,I think you need Microsoft .NET 3.5 installed and it must be installed without Vista UAC enabled, At least this was the requirement for the Oz stuff they did.Steve Stephen Munn
