March 13, 201016 yr Commercial Member This has happened out of the blue.. I loaded up the PMDG MD11 as normal but the guages are blank in 2D and in VC most of the textures around the VC are missing, I can see through the overhead, PFD etc. It worked fine yesterday, no changes have been made to the sim and IU have done a complete re install of the Aircraft. I remember seeing a screenshot on here with the same problem but my search has not turned anything up. The 744 and all other aircraft display correctlyThanks Rob Prest

March 14, 201016 yr Rob, this problem description is usually something amiss in the VS C++ runtime files. Try running the installer and repairing those. Dan Downs KCRP
March 15, 201016 yr Author Commercial Member Rob, this problem description is usually something amiss in the VS C++ runtime files. Try running the installer and repairing those. Thanks guys, I have re installed twice now and still have the same problem. I backed up all my custom sounds and repaints, uninstalled the aircraft then reinstalled everything from scratch and validated. I never had a option to repair, it told me to remove the previous version. Not sure if it will work but below is a screenshot..Ha! I've learned to post screenshots after being lazy all these years, I guess thats one upside to this mess :) Rob Prest
March 16, 201016 yr Rob, FSX or 9?Did you remove all traces of the original install by removing by hand the folders left over from the installation?Andrew Andrew Entwistle
March 16, 201016 yr Author Commercial Member FS9 - Yes I backed everything up, removed everything from add remove programs and then deleted all traces from the aircraft folder. I then reinstalled and activated and I still see the same problem. I've had the MD11 since it came out, have about 500 hours logged and never had any issues like this before. The 744 works fine and GPU temps are normal.I remember seeing a screenshot with exactly the same problem but I cant find the post anymore. Thanks Rob Prest
March 16, 201016 yr Difficult to tell. The only times I see something similar to that is when I push my graphics adapter over its limits. Things start to look really weird then. Maybe you can try to play with the graphics settings sliders, maybe your hardware has become corrupt somehow... Andreas, LOWW - Nihil sumus et fuimus mortales. March 16, 201016 yr New programme installed that adds another window to FS9 when the MD11 is running? CPU temps normal?I can vaguely remember the post here too... must be around somewhere, though I cannot remember any subject line for it...A freind of mine here had a similar corruption from the outset... If I can catch hold of him, I'll ask him what he did to resolve it...Andrew Andrew Entwistle

March 16, 201016 yr Author Commercial Member The aircraft had already been installed and Validated for over a year. I have also reinstalled it twice and Validated since the error occurred. The installer would not let me install the aircraft if my account details are incorrect and I definitely do not have a pirate copy.Cheers Rob Prest
March 16, 201016 yr I think the validation issue was just with blank screens and not what we're seeing here. I've seen this many times, but never thought it happened in FS9. I guess it really doesn't matter which platform but the reason may be quite different. This of course looks just like the disappearing texture thing a lot of us have been chasing for a long time as seen more actively and lately here. I don't think this would be the case though if you're saying this happens now all the time and even from the start with the MD-11. If it starts off fine then goes to crap, then it looks like the above link but then why would this just start without introducing something new to your install or rig? You stated nothing has changed. Some things that could all of sudden show this is a new overclock, different memory configuration and of course new addon scenery. If nothing has changed then I would download and install the latest C++ from here. Download both 32 and 64 bit for both 2005 and 2008.I don't know what OS you use, but think it was Win7, so another thing that I had happen not to long ago is .Net seemed to disable itself. I have no idea when or how but check it also.Go to control panel and select "Programs and Features". To the left you will have a link to "Turn Windows features on or off", select it and scroll through the list and verify there is still a check mark in "Microsoft .NET Framework 3.5.1".That one caused me a few issues but nothing specific to the MD-11.Lastly maybe something got corrupt in the video drivers or if you use Nvidia, maybe something got hosed in nHancer. I would try a fresh install of the driver, therefor overwriting your nHancer settings and then redoing them as well.Really can't think of much else since I don't know any FS9 specifics. The last thing is if you attempt another reinstall of the MD-11 be sure to check your various folders for any lingering dll's and other files and folders. Manually delete anything MD-11 specific that may be holding corrupt data or recausing the problem. It is very possible that a reinstall will not overwrite these files if you use Vista or Win7 and the install is in one of the protected Windows folders ie: C:\Program Files (x86).Good luck, i9 10920x @ 4.8 ~ MSI Creator x299 ~ 256 Gb 3600 G.Skill Trident Z Royal ~ EVGA RTX 3090ti ~ Sim drive = M.2 2-TB ~ OS drive = M.2 is 512-gb ~ 5 other Samsung Pro/Evo mix SSD's ~ EVGA 1600w ~ Win 10 Pro Dan Prunier
March 16, 201016 yr Commercial Member We're nearly certain this stuff happens when the FS engine runs out of some type of internal resource. (exactly what, we're not sure on since the ACES team is no longer around to ask) This happens with other companies' aircraft too, I know it's been reported with the LDS 767 and the Captain Sim 757 as well, it's not a PMDG issue per se, it's FS.What other addons are you running? Scenery stuff can overload the video card's memory very quickly - I ran some tests the other night using FTX PNW, REX2, Ultimate Traffic 2 and our 747-8 and got very close to going over the limit even on a nearly 1GB card. March 17, 201016 yr I'd try to kind of disable all add-ons (scenery and -enhancements) and make FS as lean as possible. Maybe only a fresh install of both the OS and FS would do the trick since many things are tightly interwoven into Windows and it's at times difficult or impossible to get rid of them.I don't think it's an issue with missing textures or so, to me it looks like a ressource overflow problem of FS.
