April 12, 201016 yr I'm using the bloom plug-in with BP=0 without issue too.As Jeff correctly pointed out, this is very system dependant. The recommendation to disable Bloom,AA,AF is to increase of your chances of success with BP=0. However, this applies mostly with people using full sliders! if you are more conversative, then you are probably able to run nHancer, ENBSeries mod, BP=0 with no problems. Only a Fermi is the real way to run everything maxed out with full IQ mods, and to 'confirm' it, I'm waiting for mine (unfortunately, newegg is not listing them as available yet) and I check every minute :)

IMO the best trade off when flying in FSX.
April 12, 201016 yr In short,Sacrifice IQ (image quality) to be able to use full sliders!Well, not JUST IQ.. Autogen and Scenery complexity are not neccesarily IQ enhancements, ENBSeries, nHancer ARE.But yes, you are correct... its a tradeoff, depending on your flying style. Again... Fermi will make all this irrelevant, I'm still hoping for newegg to list them again.. (last week they were online like for 10 minutes!!!) they are selling like hot cakes.
April 13, 201016 yr I am having some display issues, one of which is black screen when returning from the FSX menu, and we all know that was fixed thanks to *******. I will have to give it another try when I have more time to tweak, so in the meantime there are 6 folders to delete, right?d3d9.dlld3dx9_26.dlld3dx9_40.dllENB Series for FSX and FS2004enbseries.iniENBSeries FSX FS9 manual.PDFI liked what I saw until I started having issues, better luck next time. \Robert Hamlich/
April 13, 201016 yr Happens to me every now and the. It's a myster why this happens :( Happens to me every now and the. It's a myster why this happens :( :( In short,Sacrifice IQ (image quality) to be able to use full sliders!I prefer IQ and not full sliders! IMO the best trade off when flying in FSX.As usual with FSX it's all system AND user related... B) I like full sliders (on the scenery tab anyway) and I don't mind using FSX FSAA at all...! And btw I use BP=0 and still enjoy the ENB enhancements also: I wouldn't want to give up on ENB!

April 13, 201016 yr Where can you get this latest ENB mod?Mitch's link is 'file unavailable'.It's here now:Flight Simulator X - UtilitiesNew! Light Bloom Plugin ZipDive! DownloadFile Description:FSX supports light bloom, but the effect reduces framerates. In 2008, Boris Vorontsov developed a small freeware plugin, ENBSeries, which produces a similar effect, with little or no effect on framerates. This plugin has been discussed extensively on AVSIM and other flight sim forums. The purpose of this package is (a) to help distribute Vorontsov's plugin and (:( to make it easy for flight simmers to get started and enjoy what Vorontsov has given us. The trickiest part of (:( is adjusting the various parameters for Flight Simluator. You're welcome to play with this yourself, but most people are going to be happy with the settings provided here, courtesy of Orbx founder John "Koorby" Venema.Filename: lightbloom.zipLicense: FreewareAdded: 8th April 2010Downloads: 1154Author: Boris VorontsovSize: 345kb

Just use BP=1000000 (six zeroes) or you can use 500000 (five zeroes) and you can have it all? I get just as smooth with a setting 1000000 as with BP=0 on an i7-975/GTX285 combo. I have all the graphics sliders cranked right except resolution at 2m and water set to HIGH (one notch below full right--Max) With nHancer and ENBSeries, FSX is utterly amazing to fly though! Seriously, to create a truly virtual world, (I guess my personal opinion in play) ENBSeries is a 'must have'. It does set up FSX to be 'virtual'.Two cents,Mitch

April 13, 201016 yr Brent,The reason for *******' recommendation not to use it, is because BP=0 causes system instability when overworked. The bloom mod puts additional stress on the video card and can result in system crash. You can use it with BP=0 as long as you find a point where your system is not over worked (which is obvously system dependent). You know when you hit the wall, because your entire machine will crash in-flight.I'm using the bloom plug-in with BP=0 without issue too.Enjoy! As Jeff correctly pointed out, this is very system dependant. The recommendation to disable Bloom,AA,AF is to increase of your chances of success with BP=0. April 13, 201016 yr Is there any way to brighten up the cock pit with the ENB mod? I love what it does for the outside world but makes the interior really dark in my Carenado Archer.
