April 20, 201016 yr Any chance to run AIsmooth with the unregistered version of FSUIPC ?Absolutely you can!
April 20, 201016 yr Author Absolutely you can!Hmmm...I just downloaded the AIsmooth and wanted to check how it works. I start the AIsmooth at first, then FS. When FS completed loading I got an error message, generally speaking, that AIsmooth cannot run with the unregistered version of FSUIPC that I have. And in fact the AIsmooth did not work properly, I 'went to' Madrid, compressed the time 4x to get a lot of 'active' traffic and although AIsmooth saw the FS running it was not controlling any aircraft...

April 20, 201016 yr I don't believe you can expect AISmooth to work properly with time compression.Keep us posted.I've observed many airports at 4x for awhile and AISmooth seemed to be working fine. A way you can check, is to turn on the message bar in AISmooth options so you can see if its giving up commands to AI. - Red E8500 @ 4.1 | EVGA 275GTX (overclocked) | 2x2GB Mushkin Enhanced Redline @ 1066 | Samsung 24inch LCD @ 1920x1080 |
April 20, 201016 yr Don't forget it applies only in the range you have defined for airport approaches. Start up a parked flight (with a TCAS equipped panel) at a known busy arrival time with AI at 100%. It takes a few minutes for AI to arrive as they play catch-up with the traffic schedule. Here's a pix of the AISmooth version 1.2 (works with FS9 and FSX) status window at 10:30A local at KMSP after about ten minutes. AI is at a 100%. I've seen in more dense after a longer period.
April 21, 201016 yr Author Updated my FSUIPC version and it works fine! :)However, I hate this green bar with red line showing me the AIsmooth ATC, is there a way to 'hide' it?
April 21, 201016 yr Updated my FSUIPC version and it works fine! :)However, I hate this green bar with red line showing me the AIsmooth ATC, is there a way to 'hide' it?Yup. Go into the options of AISmooth and untick it. - Red E8500 @ 4.1 | EVGA 275GTX (overclocked) | 2x2GB Mushkin Enhanced Redline @ 1066 | Samsung 24inch LCD @ 1920x1080 |
April 21, 201016 yr Author Yup. Go into the options of AISmooth and untick it.oook... stupid question, I even hadn't looked into AIsmooth setting before I wrote the post :( thanks :))
April 21, 201016 yr If you ever get an ATC add-on like the one in my banner :) you'll want to uncheck the option to speak ATC messages as well under File/setup.
February 26, 201313 yr very late question: does aismooth atc speaks to the player also? i mean is it possible that it gives you commands other than the ai? if so, is there a way to make it speak and write just the atc messages for the player?
February 26, 201313 yr First be sure you are using version 1.2 of aismooth which although is in the FSX utilities library here is for FS9 as well. You have two options regarding user communications that control audio and text display of ATC messages. I have this turned off so as not to conflict with my ATC app. To achieve just hearing and seeing aismooth enable these in AIS and then in FS bring up the audio mixer and turn down ATC. There is also a similar option regarding displaying ATC text within FS as I recall. I believe to enact with with your aircraft to protect separation between you and ai enable the option Respond To User Aircraft in AIS and that also might affect if AIS ATC talks to you.
