I have a strange problem. FSX freezes/stops regulary for about 1 sec. at certain airports. Even at the absolutly lowest gfx-settings!The airports are KJFK KORD and ENBR. I have a default fsx.cfg file. (Trying to find the culprit) I also have disabled lots of custom scenery.This also happens if the sim is paused! Panning around in the paused sim - the stop will happen.Any ideas?

The most common reason for freezes or stuttering (stops regulary for one second) is moving your scenery and ai sliders too far to the right. Since you state you have your settings set to the default, then that probably is not the problem. I'm not sure what your mean by "absolutely lowest gfx-settings". Does this mean you have the lowest settings for your graphics card? You should always include system specs when you are discussing performance problems. They sometimes help in diagnosing your problem. In addition, are KJFK and KORD the default airports or are they commercial addons such as those offered by FS Dreamteam? Google has a ton of discussions when I google FSX freezes/stuttering. You might take a look at some of those posts.Best regards,Jim

Hi FolksIf still occuring at MS FSX's "Reset to default" or lower,and occuring on addon airports,I'd suspect either missing textures, or objects.See FSDeveloper - Wiki - Missing textures for detection of missing textures and objects.HTHATBPaul

Thanks but it's not MY system having the issues posted by the OP. My system works great and I was able to o/c via the BIOS to 3.7 and it is very stable. I have the Extreme chip and I heard the sold the same system without the Extreme edition and that system cannot be o/c'd.Best regards,Jim

I dont think so, because its only at certain airports, not the "whole" sim. And with settings so low it only uses about 25% of CPU capacity. I will look into the missing texture thing. But thanks for the suggestions, it was one of the things i looked into. :)

Have you turned off AI Aircraft etc. AI injection expecially from UT2 can cause slight pauses,especially at the larger hubs where there will be more traffic.

Everything at zero/left. And I mean absolutely everything. It was one of the first things I checked. The sim will run at 100 fps, stop at 100 fps for about 1 sec, and then continue at 100 fps for 4 -5 sec. And so on. Even when paused, as earlier mentioned.

Are you using FSUIPC ? I have the same issue. But not a second more a 1/10 second, every 5-8 seconds. When i moved the FSUIPC out there are no interupts.BTW: i have this interupts also with all sliders left. It

Hey Jim, I just noticed your post and also that you said that you have disabled lot of custom scenery but was wondering two things.1. Are the two airports KJFK and KORD, made by FSDreamteam?2. Are you using Ultimate Traffic 2?If the answer to either question is yes, then you can make adjustments to the FSDreamteam Addon Manager setting to increase the radius by which the scenery will load and not pause the screen. Although I dont own KJFK, I do own most of the other FSDreamteam sceneries and unless I increase the load radius to about 20 miles I get a slight pause when about 10 miles out and the airport first comes into view. Also Ultimate Traffic 2 has some settings that you can adjust when it injects traffic into the sim, such as number of AI to spawn, etc.Not sure if this is your case or not, but I though I would mention it.EDIT: I just noticed that ENBR is Bergen which is a Cloud9/FSDreamteam scenery. The same issues would apply with the slight pauses when the aiport first comes into view. Like I mentioned above you can open the Addon Manager in the drop down box in the top tool bar when press the Alt key and increase the distance in which the different scenery objects will load. By default its set to 1, but it will go as high as 30. I do not have this problem and it was ME who first asked the OP whether he had the default airports or those from FS DreamTeam. He responded that he only had Bergen but he completely disabled it. But he may still have FS ADDON Manager running but that shouldn't cause the problem as I have a lessor system than his with FS Addon Manager and I don't have the stuttering or freezes. I have heard of people having issues with the Addon Manager from Cloud9/FSDT though.He has turned all the sliders to the left and disabled AI yet he's still have freezes/stuttering. This indicates to me a system problem and not FSX. No mention of defragging either which will cause issues as FSX throws files all over the hard drive when it is installed. It could be a bad memory module or a problem with the video card too (defective or drivers not properly installed). Maybe turning all his sliders to the left instead of setting them at the default is the issue! He also doesn't indicate whether he installed Bojote's tweaks, like BP=0 and HighMem= In any case, it is NOT ME with this problem.
