Mushkin Redline 3x2GB DDR3 1600Mhz

Featured Replies

I have been running my new Mushkin Redline 3x2GB DDR3 1600Mhz memory for a few days now and decided to make a report. So far, I am loving this memory. It is much more stable than my old OCZ Gold, and is running at 6-8-6-24-1T timings @1680Mhz on the stock 1.65v. Another really nice improvement is now that I have stable memory, I was able to get a stable 4.4Ghz out of my i7 920. I recommend this memory to anyone looking for quality, low latency, fast memory. Here is a link to some pics of my build (not great quality, shot with my cell phone):

Good to hear! Are those timings stock or did you set them?

Stock timings, except for the 1680Mhz, which is a result of my 210Mhz FSB speed.

"Ah, stock eh?!" he said to himselft smiling, fumbling blindly after his credit card in his back pocket. :(

They might be able to do a little tighter timings, but it doesn't seem necessary to me. This memory was not cheap, but for the stability and performance, it was worth it in my opinion. I got the memory from Newegg if you are looking for it, the model # is 998805.

Hi,I can't find this memory listed in the 'approved' memory list for the P6T. I do have the update for the board. Obviously it works. :) Do you have a reference for the P6T compatibility? Thanks!Bob..

This memory I believe is too new to be in the approved vendor list. Despite this, I highly recommend it, before with my OCZ I could not get the computer 100% stable. The Mushkin has my computer stable and I was able to bump up to 4.4Ghz on my i7 920.

Thank you for the followup Shane. I've added it to my wish list. :)Bob..

What a tiimely post. I've experienced random unexplained CTD's in FSX and suspected memory might be the culprit. I ordered this Mushkin memory last week and just installed it. Much better timings than what was previously installed. I hope I get better stability in FSX.

Let us know how it works out. FYI, my sim never crashed, but I would get random BSOD during startup, and occasionally my computer wouldn't post. When I switched to the Mushkin, it was a night and day difference. I have had NO BSOD's, and the BIOS posts every time I start the computer. I am sworn off OCZ memory for now.

FWIW, my Redline has been running stock timings listed below in tripple-channel for over a year now and continue to be very impressed with this ram.

Glad I chose the mushkin memory. I was considering OCZ , but went with Nickn's advice to a fellow avsimmer to pay a little extra for the low latency mushkins! I am running a stable 4.2 o/c, may consider upping the cpu to 4.3-4.4 soon.

I assembled my new system yesterday with the Mushkin 1600 Redline. I've been running Prime95 for the last 10 hours. The XMP function does recognize the Mushkin and sets the timings and RAM frequency (1600) as stated in the specs. I hope to start installing FSX today.New build:Core I7 930, Asus P6T, Coolermaster ATC 840 chassis, Coolermaster V8 CPU Cooler, 6GB Mushkin Redline, Corsair HX 850 modular, 1TB WD Black Caviar, (2) HP DVD1270,Win 7 64bit.For those running the 930, what full load temps are you seeing? Also, is HT turned off? Thanks.Bob.. :)

With my i7 950 I was getting max core temps of 76C running Prime95. I used RealTemp to get my readings. Those reading were with the stock TRUE 1600 RPM fan.I changed the stock TRUE fan out to a 4000 RPM Delta and my max temps dropped to 69C. I will say that I only run the Delta at 4000 RPM when I am stress testing, in normal operation I am only running it at 2000 RPM.
