May 18, 201016 yr Commercial Member OK, it must be the age thingy, but I cannot for the life of me figure out how to get the TrackIR4 to work with EZDok. I see it active in EZDok, but cannot get TIR to work. The mouse basically substitutes for panning it seems. Btw, I just bought EZDok this afternoon and still familiarizing myself rather slowly with the manual. Any quick short tips, tricks, etc are welcome just to get me off the ground quicker. Go to your TrackIR folder and rename the files

May 18, 201016 yr I got it yesterday and I like it very much. The thing is that you have to understand the philosophy behind it, in the beginning the learning curve is kind of steep :-)I have 2 things which make me think if I really wanna keep it or use the Flight1 30 days money back:1. I would like to have the ability to change the EZ-views with 1 Button (cycle)2. An option where you could disable the default FSX VCcockpit+Aircraft views would be greatSo I will monitor progression and decide in some days.McDan out
May 18, 201016 yr You have to difference between FSX cameras and the EZdok cameras. You can cycle only through the FSX views, but it's not possible to cycle through the EZdok cameras. You can switch between EZ dok cameras either by clicking on them if flying in windowed mode and you have opened EZdok window, or you assign a joystick button or keyboard hotkey for each EZdoc camera.I would also appreciate an option to cycle through my virtual cockpit cams, I was disappointed when I red in the manual it's not possible :( Asus Rampage II Extreme X58, i7 920 @4 GHz, 12GB RAM OCZ Platinum @1.646MHz 7-7-7-20 (1T), Noctua NH-U12P SE1366, Sapphire HD-5870 Vapor-X , 30" Dell @2560x1600 pixel, SSD Intel X-25 M for OS, 1 TB WD Caviar Green for FSX, be quiet Dark Power Pro P7 650W AT, Creative X-Fi Titanium Fatal1ty Champion + Teufel 5.1 Surround Set, LG Blu-Ray-ROM LG DVD+/-RW, Aerocool FP-01 Flip-Panel, Lian Li ARMORSUIT P60 black, Windows7 64bit Ultimate.

I am not sure, but it looks that I get a FPS hit with EZdok, where I have stable locked 30 FPS without it, I now have fluctuating FPS 23-29 :-(So I will monitor progression and decide in some days.McDan out1. That option should be in the next version, so they said on their forum today.2. You mean the default views you see in EZdok? Can't you simply delete them?3. Didn't notice any fps hit myself...!
May 18, 201016 yr No, he means to disable the standard FSX views. Didn't notice any fps hit myself...!YEP, Sorry about Nr.3 I changed settings and I tested now, there is NO FPS impact induced by EZdok!SorryIf I could cycle trough Ezdok views I simply dont have any use for the FSX Cockpit+Aircraft Views. I still would like to use Flyby Tower Top and the other views.(The benefit would be not to have to cycle trough 100 views :-))McDan out

I still would like to use Flyby Tower Top and the other views.(The benefit would be not to have to cycle trough 100 views :-))I think that when you will be able to cycle through the EZdok views (in the next version), you won't be seeing any of the FSX views: they are completely seperate. The default views that are made in (converted to) EZdok for default aircraft can be easily deleted. So in the end you will only see those views that you want to see. The VC and aircraft views from FSX itself can be skipped. You won't have to cycle through 100 views if you don't want to.
May 18, 201016 yr Commercial Member Wow! this is great stuff. My virtual experience is now elevated to an all new level with the TIR and EZDok combination. Took the default 747 and Thomas Ruth's A300 for a ride this morning and am very impressed with the bumps, shakes, jolts, etc.. ...very realistic. There are tons of view-point possibilities now more than default within and outside the aircraft. I was procrastinating over whether to buy or not until I saw this thread yesterday. Life's never gonna be the same now, at least virtually. Looks like I'll be building larger airports from here on to cater for this sort of experience.BTW, thanks to Gerhrad and Jeroen for pointing me in the right direction to get TIR to work with EZDok. Back to more reading...Here's an over-the-wing view which I can now get which wasn't there in FSX default. Like I said, more viewpoint possibilities for great screenshot captions. May 18, 201016 yr Here's a short tutorial so set up a view how you want it.I'd like to change point 4 as follows:4. To make editing easy (and in order to be able to move around even if you don't want to edit a view), make sure to enable the green button called POV (for moving around with keys). Leave ML (mouse look) off (you can temporarily enable mouse look when you need it by pressing and holding the middle mouse button). You can turn on Z (for zooming with the mouse scroll wheel) for editing purposes, but don't leave it on during normal flight or you will zoom in and out when you want to use the scroll wheel to change settings in the VC itself. Besides, it is better to change the position than it is to zoom (I always use the same zoom for all views). PTP is activated by default and makes switching between views smooth (unless you used another zoom setting), but that's of no importance for editing views.Maybe a mod can replace point 4 in my initial post and remove this one, thanks. :( If you want to make a view that is zoomed in on a specific gauge, do not use the zoom but simply move yourself forward etc. towards the gauge: transitions (with PTP enabled) between various zoom levels aren't smooth but transitions between various positions are. So try to avoid using zoom for various views in order to move around smoothly all the time.
May 18, 201016 yr Commercial Member Great tip, Jeroen. I'm still fiddling around with view-points and am just about happy thus far with cockpit and outside a/c settings. btw, a few of my favorite a/c were "rejected" by EZDok when I initially "configured FSX." I don't have the Carenado 206, 182 and warrior, Justflight 152, and a few freeware a/c EZDok-configured. I can only assume that these must be FS9 port-overs. Anybody know another way around this... perhaps, manually altering a/c cfg? Edited for speeling Visit the tribe @ http://islandsim.com
