Your Favourite AI

I don't think there is a similar thread to this yet so post here about any specialised AI you have in fs9 (general aviation, unusual airlines) and where you got the package or how it was made. I'll start off by saying that my Concorde AI is nice to have in the game with a two or so daily flights from Heathrow/Charles de Gaulle to JFK that are always fun to here coming on ATC. Anybody else have some interesting AI?

Apart from countless WOAI packages, which most people here probably have too, as they are simply great, I am using a lot of custom traffic packages. If there is no WOAI pack for an airline I need, I search for flightplans and models in various file libraries and compile the traffic bgls with TrafficTools (that's easy). For example I fly quite a lot in Russia (mainly thanks to great addon sceneries such as Domodedovo, Novosibirsk, Yeakterinburg and many others). So I love to have my Russian airports filled with traffic (and not many western airlines reach these aerodromes). I compile a lot of Russian (and other ex-soviet) airlines. This way I can enjoy Tupolevs, Ilyushins and Antonovs in various liveries. From small turboprop An-24 to giant Ruslans. Some of them are great models since they even have inbuild vehicles including animated pushback tugs. And all this pleasure is for free. A great help here is avsim.su where the file library is full of both great airports and AI aircraft, but also the trafficsystem.ru.My virtual airports are very busy with traffic and still quite fluent. One of the reasons, by the way, to stay with FS9.If I find some time later I may paste a screen or two to illustrate this variety.

HTAI Models are great for general aviation AI. There are many people who have created repaints for Henry's aircraft as well. Many of which are complete packages meaning that they have repaints and flight plans as well. The single engine Cessna package that Henry sells on his web site is terrific and it's worth every penny of the 15 dollars that he charges for it. Do a search in the Avsim Library for Billy Rutherford, John Burford, Jean-Jacques Parel, or simply HTAI.HTAI Models Web Sitehttp://www.htaimodels.com/Mark

WOAI and Project AI... Now I'm waiting for that big huge Delta package hopefully someone will do one day. Next I guess it'll be United's merge with Continental and the ridicules livery that'll come from that. Both of these options would be great coming in the WOAI format.

Sorry for the double post. I hit the button once but two posts came up. :(

WOAI seems to be the huge hit here they just need to restore all their regional packages that were taken down a while back. Rafal your Russian AI seems to be a good idea and I bet those airports are fun to fly into to see all the unusual planes coming and going. Finding those small airlines that are fairly unknown are great to have. I personally enjoy every time I see the Palmair 735 flying around Europe. Anybody know of any interesting small airlines to add into FS?

Personally, my favorite obscure AI would be MAIW's Nellis package. It has custom scenery, and it is nice to see F-15s on approach into Nellis while landing in LAS. (On the rare occasion that I fly offline). The bombing range scenery it includes is great as well.

Get the Alpha India flightplans, go on AVSIM, grab some liveries, install the paints on the AI models, compile the files, put in FS and your set. Seriously great stuff.

I made my own two weeks ago using the AIG plans and paints from AVSIM. It's worth the effort, I suggest you do it if you have the time! :(

I second Alpha India they have pretty much everything WOAI doesn't. They really populate the charter airlines. What aircraft are good for use in programs like GA-Traffic? I have a handful including the HTAI package that I use so far a lot of aircraft from Mike Cronin

Favourite? It's a do-it-yourself, AN 225 model I think is by Andrew HallEGLL.jpgLove the Russian AI too. It's tricky to get all the right bits for it, perhaps Rafal could give us a pointer on collecting a few sceneries and AI to match...

There needs to be some detailed instructions on how to do this. For those of us with limited time an attractive aspect of WOAI is 'one click' and the whole AI package is installed.

That An-225 is fantastic! I have a feeling it may soon make an appearance in my sim... Alpha India is much more of a hassle to deal with than WOAI. It consists of a lot of downloading repaints for aircraft but it is very thorough and adds to the game.

That would be.....WOAI!!

I use a combination of models from various sources, to create a 'sort of' retro traffic to populate my virtual skies.I like the old paints from TWA, Pan AM, Eastern, Delta, and so on.Flying in my sim would put you somewhere in the 70s, with lots of DC8s, 707s, 727s.Im usually tooling around in an old 737-200 or a DC-9.
