August 1, 201015 yr I thought I had it right, but I can now confirm that I'm having this haze issue thing at higher altitudes. It's not the FSX haze, but this white visibility haze. This is me at 34,000 ft with DWC checked ON and Enable Visibility Graduation and Smoothing checked ON:Now with DWC still checked ON, but with Enable Visibility Graduation and Smoothing checked OFF:My visibility settings in ASE:Sending an email as listed above with my details.

I have submitted my email to support. They are unable to reproduce this, but are looking at possible issues with FSUIPC settings that are beyond the obvious. I hope that they can find a solution to this.Phil
August 1, 201015 yr Phil, I just sent all all my ASE and FSUIPC settings. It's actually good to know that it's not just me having this issue otherwise it would be my setup causing it. Hopefully HiFi will be able to somehow replicate this.
August 2, 201015 yr Jim and Phil,A few things about this "cruise level haze/low visibiltiy" that I, Phil and some others are experiencing:My setup:FSX Sp2FSUIPC4-registeredASE build 572.Fog Layer Generation: OnDisable Haze Layer: OnEnable Visibility Graduation and Smoothing: OnEnable Direct Wind Control/Smoothing: OnIn my case, I begin to see the low vis problem start to materialize as I fly up to cruise altitude, and it gets progressively worse as I go above FL 300. Below FL300, it's not that noticeable. Now on a flight today in the stock Learjet, I was cruising at FL 410 and, as usual, the low vis effect took over and I had a 2 mile or so visibility, with white haze in all directions, even though the METAR showed clear skies. But I did make one setting change which seemed to help quite a bit. I moved the "Maximum Upper Visibility" slider to 150. The visibility improved and actually looked quite realistic for this altitude, with a much more milder haze effect, to where I could just barely see the horizon. I don't know if this is a "solution" to this problem, it may have been a one time event. But it definitely helped in my flight today. I'll see what happens tomorrow with the same setting, but I would suggest that anyone else having this problem try moving this slider to at least 150 to see if it positively affects high altitude visibility.Bob
August 2, 201015 yr Actually I start to see this white haze effect start showing up around 12,000 ft as I climb. It gradually gets worse until it's a whiteout around 28,000 ft and up. Turning off the Enable Visibility Graduation and Smoothing option takes the haze completely exactly like my above screenshots show.I also tried Bob's suggestion of moving the "Maximum Upper Visibility" slider to 150, but it really didn't help much. I had it already set to 125 before that.
August 2, 201015 yr I just wanted to state that I have this above issue, too...WIN7 64, 8800GTS, ASE last BuildFSX with AccelerationBeside this I'm satisfied with ASE!thanks for the support! August 3, 201015 yr good to hear, Jim!thanks for the info... Guenter Steiner -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Betatester for: A2A, LORBY, FSR-Pillow Tester --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
August 8, 201015 yr Hi,Not a problem!1. Run REX and make your texture choices and send them to FSX. Close REX down.2. Manually copy that ASE file from ASE to: FSX\Texture3. Start ASE and FSX as you normally would. Now you should have REX textures and no FSX haze layer.Jim, that does indeed make a difference although I still have these rapid visbility changes at high altitude when I have visibility smoothing checked. Not very real. When unchecked at least these constant changes are over.Menno Menno i7-11700, 16GB, 1 TB SSD, 2 TB HDD, RTX 3070, Windows 11, MSFS 2020 DeLuxe, P3D 4.5
August 9, 201015 yr I was one of those who communicated with HiFi's support and tested this new update. I can confirm that the visibility issue (whiteout at high altitude) is completely gone.Kudos to HiFi for their quick update.
August 9, 201015 yr I also was one communicating and testing the new update. I can confirm that it works. Many thanks to HIFI's support staff!!! They were quick and pleasant to work with!!Again...Thank you HIFI!!!!Phil
August 9, 201015 yr Hi Guys,Can you shed any light at this thread?http://forum.avsim.net/topic/292561-visibility-issue-after-build-585-install/
