June 17, 201015 yr Radar Contact doesn't sound like that, it has a number of regional accented ATC controllers, however, like the default ATC, they are not always the right accent for the region, but it is an improvement on the default ATC nonetheless.Al Alan Bradbury Check out my youtube flight sim videos: Here
June 17, 201015 yr I've been using poor man's ATC. Fire up FSX, internet connection, http://www.liveatc.net Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-14700F 32.0 GB memory Windows 11 Home Nvidia GeForce RTX 4060
June 17, 201015 yr Commercial Member I've been using poor man's ATC. Fire up FSX, internet connection, http://www.liveatc.net Ha! I still use poor mans atc, even with radar contact. I turned off the prerecorded atc in radar contact because I heard the same voices and exchanges over and over, also I couldn't turn the volume down on it (which really made it pretty annoying)Otherwise RC4 + meat water voice pack + poor mans atc = golden

I am sold on RC4. I will also download meatwater's stuff. How do you use 'poor man's ATC' exactly?
June 17, 201015 yr Hirgab, I generally go to liveatc.net, select a feed that is in the area that I plan to fly. A selection of pop-ups will be available that will give you a real-time feed. At different times I've had 3-4 different tower feeds active at one time, just for atmosphere. Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-14700F 32.0 GB memory Windows 11 Home Nvidia GeForce RTX 4060
June 17, 201015 yr Commercial Member Read your review, very long and detailed! I do have one question though that your review did not address: is MCE compatible with RC4? Can I using my voice to communicate with ATC of RC4? If so, I will go for this add-on.Thanks friends!Hello HirgabThe reason RC4 was not mentioned in the Avsim "Multi Crew Experience" Review is thisThe review was done on Version V1.3 back in April 2009. Current version is V2.2.1Since the review, MCE has undergone constant improvements, and had stuff added to it, notably - support for Level-D B767 (added Sep 2009)- Better integration with PMDG aircraft series for FS9 (added Oct 2009)- voice interaction with RC4 (January 2010) which you can hear on this video: - Added Voxkey, a tool allowing you to create your own voice commands. Works like VoiceBuddy dedicated to FSX and FS2004Needless to say that all these improvements have been made available as free updates for all MCE users (even those who bought V1.2), rather than packaged as new product versions.Gerald ReillyOn behalf of the FS++ teamhttp://www.multicrewxp.com Gerald R https://www.multicrewxp.com

June 17, 201015 yr Loquendo is one of, if not the best TTS programs on the market. Will Multi Crew Exp. work with these SAPI5 voice packs?.Yes it will. basically, if Your OS works with TTS, MCE will also do. Some (Realspeak AFAIK) do not work under x64 systems. Bartłomiej Ender

Will Multi Crew Exp. work with these SAPI5 voice packs?.ThanksJust to confirm what BartEnder said, any SAPI 5 compliant voice will do.Although installing a 32 Bit voice on a 64 Bit operating system means the voice will not show up in <Speech> control panel applet (because those applets are 64 Bit applications), MCE will still be able to detect the voice and make it available for use.Agree, Loquendo voices are quite good. Realspeak voices are cool too.As for running through the network, regrattably No. MCE must be installed on the main computer. If your main PC has a dual core CPU or higher, there will be zero impact on peformance. MCE as well as the speech engine are automatically set to run on the second core.Since there is a free demo available, you have nothing to loose in trying. As far as setup goes, there will be strictly no change to your FSX folder apart from the addition of "fsInsider.dll" (our way to communicate with the simulator) and "airlines.cfg" (lists the names of various airlines used in Native FS ATC) to FSX root folder.Setup should be a breeze.Gerald ReillyOn behalf of the FS++ teamhttp://www.multicrewxp.com Gerald R https://www.multicrewxp.com
June 17, 201015 yr Hi,There is a work around for 32bit voices and them not showing in Windows 7/Vista 64bit. All you need to do is copy and past the following line into the START / SEARCH PROGRAMS AND FILE entry box: C:\Windows\sysWOW64\speech\SpeechUX\SAPI.cpl You will need to change the path statement if Windows is not in the C Drive / Default Directory. That will allow you to see all the installed SAPI Voice Packs. It will also allow you to select one of your addon voice packs as the new default.I'm in the process of running your MCE with three Cepstral voices, it seems the Loquendo voices do not work with Windows 7 64 bit outside the Loquendo TTS 7 Director, looks like I'll have to lay out additional cash to get their 64bit Kate voice pack. :( Just to confirm what BartEnder said, any SAPI 5 compliant voice will do.Although installing a 32 Bit voice on a 64 Bit operating system means the voice will not show up in <Speech> control panel applet (because those applets are 64 Bit applications), MCE will still be able to detect the voice and make it available for use.Agree, Loquendo voices are quite good.
