June 19, 201015 yr Well Paul i do have a right to an opinion, and i take offence to your suggestion of immaturity just because i dont share the same opinion as you. If as you suggest i dont understand economics and basic business practice, i certainly understand what commitment is. I was brought up that way, and the military certainly taught me that way.And thats half the problem with the world today, people are willing to put up with mediocrity. You dont see deals been done on a handshake these days, there done on pieces of paper in front of lawyers.I equate the society of today as opposed to the past, with cars. In years gone by cars were built like tanks, sturdy, reliable, trustworthy. Today their built of tinfoil and you wouldnt trust them in times of crises'. Service packs this, service packs that, get it right! Banks getting bailed out by the taxpayer in times of crisis, ripping them off with outrageous fees 6 months later. Commit to this, commit to that, dont deliver. If you cant commit to it in the first place, then dont at all. And if you do commit, then damn well deliver.Andy?Andy,I totally understand other's opinions, no issues there. As for structure I spent 5 years at New York Military Academy so you are preaching to the choir... I also deal with 100's of pages of legal contracts and amendments every day, it is the world we live in like it or not... My issue is when people are so set in their opinions they can not see the light through the tunnel to make sense of the big picture... Just because you have your opinion does not make it right and sometimes we all need to learn to accept things when they do not align with our opinions and "just take it on the chin." There is a tremendous amount to be said for taking a step back and looking at something from someone else's perspective. In my line of work I frequently joke with my engineer that when we walk into a meeting I will just bend over and say thank you sir may I have another as soon as we walk through the door... To say I run into people with other opinions on a daily basis would be a MASSIVE understatement but how people express those opinions and the feeling of entitlement some have at the expense of others (ie wanting a 737 for FS9 when it could potentially financially cripple PMDG) is where my problems lie...I have opinions too but when I don't agree with something it usually means I better learn to adapt... Not saying that you shouldn't fight for something you believe in but when you have been presented with a completely logical explanation of WHY a decision was made, like it or not sometimes we need to learn to accept it. As for the immaturity comment, I do find this whole argument very immature and that is my opinion... Commitment schmitment, if I commit to something and then determine after the fact I would be hugely negatively affected by that original commitment you expect me to take the hit rather than logically explain why the commitment can't be kept? You have taken a gray area and made it a black and white argument. My G-D, we are talking about FS add-ons here not committing to give a kidney to save a life and then changing our minds...-PPS. As for world cup WE (the US) was ROBBED!!!! What a bunch of garbage! We should be top of the group right now with 4 points and 4 goals and instead we are tied with 2 points and 3 goals. Pathetic excuse for an official!!! At least in the US a few weeks ago when an umpire robbed a young pitcher of a no hitter he came out the next day admitting he had made a human mistake and apologized. Ump Blows no Hitter and Apologizes FIFA allowing its officials to not have to answer to anyone is a DISGRACE!ok, back to flightsim now, when is that IFly 737 ready? Have a Wonderful Day -Paul Solk
June 19, 201015 yr ok, back to flightsim now, when is that IFly 737 ready?Hopefully sooner than later :( But im willing to wait if means a close to perfect 737NG for fs9. June 19, 201015 yr As an Englishman I would like to state that England are the worst team in the World Cup. Oh hang on, nothing to argue about there.:( the french team is worse :( KInd regards Jean-Paul I7 8700K / Fractal Design Celsius S24 watercooling / ASRock Z370 Extreme4 motherboard / Corsair 32GB 3200mhz DDR4 / INNO3D iChiLL GeForce GTX 1080 Ti X3 / Samsung SSD 960 EVO M.2 PCIe NVMe 500GB / Seasonic-SSR-850FX power supply / Fractal Design Define R5 Black case / AOC Q3279VWF 32″ 2560x1440 monitor / Benq GL2450 24″ 1920x1080 monitor / Track-IR 4
June 19, 201015 yr Unfortunately, it seemed to me that the pitch was a football-free area as well based on that England performance last night. I know the team selection was not the greatest, but that performance was appalling by the England squad, they should never have got rid of Sven.Al Alan Bradbury Check out my youtube flight sim videos: Here
June 20, 201015 yr :( the french team is worse :(Oh no, no mon ami, we are worse than you :( Gavin Barbara Over 10 years here and AVSIM is still my favourite FS site :-)
June 20, 201015 yr With Calamity James in goal and the only player capable of passing a long ball up to the front accurately currently sat on the bench in a suit, nursing his busted foot, the England footy squad have got more chance of winning the Oxford-Cambridge boat race than the World Cup. Clearly, the blame can be laid squarely at the door of PMDG, for not making an updated 737NG for FS9. :( Al Alan Bradbury Check out my youtube flight sim videos: Here
June 20, 201015 yr I've never been a fan of "Soccer" (Erhem, Football, for those you over-seas).US Vs. Slovenia though,I don't think I've ever seen a more intense game (in any sport), I was literally on the edge of my seat when I saw Donovan go for that first goal. I jumped out of my chair and screamed in glee when I saw Michael set the score 2-2.The feeling was ten times more intense during that free kick, until about 5 seconds later when it sunk in that the ref was going to give it to us in the &@($* =[. That guy did horrible, there were several times the US should have been called for getting rough, and that 3rd goal won the game for the US. mmmm, Algeria right? =] I'll be rooting for the home team :(
June 20, 201015 yr Clearly, the blame can be laid squarely at the door of PMDG, for not making an updated 737NG for FS9. :( Al:( nice one Al...As for what does this have to do with PMDG and FS9: Thank g-d absolutely nothing because this dead horse has been beat way too many times! A business decision was made, lets all accept it and move on and stop with these FS9 V FSX or why isn't X add-on being made for my sim threads!@!-Paul Have a Wonderful Day -Paul Solk
June 20, 201015 yr ##### has this to do with 'PMDG done with FS9?'? :(Everything. What we are seeing is the regulation irrational backlash period that all developers have to endure at some point. When that occurs, rationality goes out of the window. Tradition has it that any developer who is currently the target for irrational ire can, for a limited period only, be blamed for everything from the Fall of the Roman Empire to the price of cheese. Somewhere in between those parameters falls how badly any particular national footy squad is doing. Thus, you can offload the blame onto said developer during that period.Al Alan Bradbury Check out my youtube flight sim videos: Here

It is their fault that I am now reduced to rooting for other European sides (a whole lot of good that's doing me - they're all utter failures this year!). June 20, 201015 yr I wasn't actually referring to anything myself, I was just trying to inject some humour into a thread that has clearly run its course. To summarise, some people are narked off that PMDG might not make a new FS9 NG, or anything else for FS9 for that matter, but, there is an FS9 NG from I-Fly on the way. Everything beyond that is either grumbling or speculation. And here's some more speculation, or probably wishful thinking for England's next match: http://www.weebls-stuff.com/songs/footy/Al Alan Bradbury Check out my youtube flight sim videos: Here
