well.. i find FSX plain ugly...i will keep my FS9 for a bit longer.. ps.. i can run FSX thats not a problem...just.... its plain ugly :(oh! and who cares if PMDG is moving on? their choise... theres plenty of fish in the lake... i cant wait for the Ifly 737..... :(

Folks like myself spend more time enjoying FSX than folks who, unfortunately don't have the hardware, to run FSX smoothly.I seriously have a problem with your attitude. I never implied that folks like me were looking for FSX to perform like FS9.The truth is that FSX performs and looks way better on my system than FS9 ever did.I'm sorry for going of topic but I think most simmers know why a full transition has not been made from fs9 to fsx.That's if you are a frequent AVSIM visitor.

Attitude? I wasn't the poster dis'n folks because their system isn't up-to-snuff. I was simply saying I prefer performance (and that includes stability as well as speed) over enhanced graphics/eye candy. I have FSX on my PC now and run it nearly as often as I do FS9 and when it comes down to it, I prefer FS9 performance over the extra features and enhancements of FSX - a matter of opinion, that's all.

Me too, adding the bp=0 tweak combined with my hardware fsx is smoother and actually has more fps then when running fs9, did an approach into the fsdt kjfk with the pmdg 747, fsx 28 fps fs9 18 fps, without the bp=0 tweak fsx was around 15 fps but still seemed more fluid. I'll keep both for now though.

If you are referring to the BP=0 tweak I have since shut it off due to what appears to be a slight loss in quality. Overall though, it is not technically feasible for a computer to run FSX faster than FS9, all things being equal. FSX is more demanding CPU and GPU wise.FSX performance on my computer is outstanding and I have zero complaints locked at 30 FPS with the fps limiter. However, FS9 with 100% AI, in bad weather, with 12 layers of clouds set in ASE, at 2560x1600, at 8xSQ and 16xAF, over LAX/KJFK will perform better on FS9 than FSX with or without BP=0 (in my experience).

I am a big FS9'er and quite honestly not holding anything back this whole argument sounds like a bunch of whining over nothing. Hell I promised to marry my ex-fiance but when it turned out to be wrong I took back a $35,000 ring and called it off. Big deal!!! A promise is not a contract, no one signed over any money to PMDG, nothing wagered nothing lost...You guys need to get out of this mindset that something is owed to you, stop giving other FS9 users a bad name and understand how the business world really works... A passing comment in a forum does not a promise make. Pan,Pan,Pan, as you are asking others if there opinions are based on the fact they are FSX users I will ask you how old you are and if your comments are a result of your age. I would feel any adult who understands economics and basic business practice of supply and demand would completely understand PMDG's decision whether they are personally upset over it or not!!!And again, I am an avid FS9'er and also an avid PMDG fan, is that so hard to believe?-P

Ha ha... There is a huge difference between paid and appraised for... Especially when you deal with the supplier to Tiffany's and Christies and get to spend hours going through stones prior to them shipping out in order to pick the one you want!!! Not to mention being able to custom design the entire ring and setting, getting two wax casts of the product prior to the ring being made and someone explaining to my ex for HOURS what she SHOULDN"T do... Like going so far as telling her to turn it backwards when she was walking in the city and making a Cubic Zirconia exact imitation for when we travelled so g-d forbid she lost it or it was stolen I wasn't out anything :)It is all about who you know and guess what, I would take for 15k for it right now so if we drop the leading 1 we get 5000 and then drop the last 0 we get $500 and a deal LOL!!!Trooper, maybe, sucker surely...-PAnd I whined less about that ring than some do about PMDG not making an $80 addon :(

I agree on the PMDG thing LOL just a little detail in the grand scheme being blown WAY out of proportion... And don't worry, your secret is safe with me ;)As for the job, nothing comes easy except a hooker with a $100 bill dangled in front of her ;) I definitely get my perks (like working from home if I am not on the road) but also worked my butt off to get here and used to work with a sleeping bag in my cube at IBM once not leaving the office for 72 hours straight so it aint all roses but all in all I won't complain. Not to mention I have been a Continental Platinum or Gold FF since 2000 at my peak doing 184 segments in a year and I couldn't imagine giving that up! I don't remember the last time I saw the back of a CO bird :) Some would hate that life and it did have its horrible moments and nightmare stories but for an Aviation fanatic like most of us it is great!! Well Paul i do have a right to an opinion, and i take offence to your suggestion of immaturity just because i dont share the same opinion as you. If as you suggest i dont understand economics and basic business practice, i certainly understand what commitment is. I was brought up that way, and the military certainly taught me that way.And thats half the problem with the world today, people are willing to put up with mediocrity. You dont see deals been done on a handshake these days, there done on pieces of paper in front of lawyers.I equate the society of today as opposed to the past, with cars. In years gone by cars were built like tanks, sturdy, reliable, trustworthy. Today their built of tinfoil and you wouldnt trust them in times of crises'. Service packs this, service packs that, get it right! Banks getting bailed out by the taxpayer in times of crisis, ripping them off with outrageous fees 6 months later. I think that's a good way to put it :( Yes I have FSX installed, but on my system it's not as good as FS9. I'm fully aware that it's my comp that's the problem here and have nothing against FSX in any way. I can't afford a new comp at the moment.

I agree that once they get to be heated then they should be locked.It's funny though that we go for spells with no FS9 VS FSX debates, then all of the sudden a few pop up and the debates begin and it the same arguments over and over, a lot of times by the same people(me included) standing up for and explaining why they like their choice of sim and arguing about the hardware it takes to get it to work right.Some say you need a $6000 system with an overclocked i975 to run FSX maxed or close to, then others like me say you can do it on an overclocked E8400 system that only cost $1800 and was built 2 years ago.Some say no way to flying airliners in FSX, others like me and Flyhalf and the fellow that started a thread named Mike T, say yes you can.Some fellows think that FSX users are blowing smoke with the performance claims they make, most likely because they have tried FSX themselves and for what ever reason couldn't get ample performance to make it enjoyable to use. Some think FSX is ugly, others think its beautiful, and on and on.At the end of the day whats changed? Nothing. Those that love FSX will continue to use it and those that love FS9 will continue to stick with and some will use both. Hopefully one day we will have ONE sim that the majority of simmers will be using and the arguments that never end in resolution will cease. Of course if that happens we will all find something else to argue about, lol.

As an atheist Englishman who thinks footbal is silly and an obscene waste of money living in Brasil (I know, I know, "Why do you live there then?") I think its wonderufl that so many teams so far are not having it all their way (England, Brasil, France, Spain, etc).I
