Well I'd probably run water at 2x low or mediumbloom should be off, any self shadowing etc set to offIf you have UTX installed set AI cars to 10-15% at the most.AI traffic set to 50% for default or like 30% if using an addon packageOther AI set to 15-20%Cloud density on high or maximum, visibilty set to 60

Read and apply Bojote's sticky on BufferPools: Read and apply the same author's posts on Shaders version 3.0.

I run the following settings. The only places I see a slow down are in the major ORBX cities. Even NYC runs pretty well with FSDT's JFK and Imagine Sim's LGA. I have not added Aerosoft's scenery yet but I probably will in the future. I use Nick's NHancer settings with vsync off. I do get what I guess would would qualify as tearing when I pan quickly but it is not very noticeable. The performance increase by having vsync off more than makes up for it. As far as the Bojote tweaks, I use the highmem fix and BP=1 along with a few of his other tweaks. I tried BP=0 but had random crashes. BP=1 has produced several great flights without one problem. I don't look at the fps counter but everything is usually smooth as silk. It was Bojote's tweaks, combined with moving to a single monitor and using NHancer that helped me hit a really sweet spot. 1920x1080 resolutionOne MonitorDX9Bloom offAll shadows offLOD LargeMesh Complexity 100Mesh Resolution 10mTexture Resolution 7cmWater High 2xScenery Complexity Very DenseAutogen Complexity Very DenseSpecial Effects HighCloud draw distance 60miCloud coverage Max (set to 12 in .cfg)Airline traffic 100%GA traffic 100%Airport vehicles LowRoad vehicles 20%ships and ferries 20%Leisure boats 20%Traffic is UT2+WOAIClouds are REX 2048Weather is ASAGEX Europe, NAAll FTX regionsI could probably bump things up if I eased up on the traffic but that is not an option for me. You are using a 64-bit OS?Move autogen down to very dense or dense, keep everything else maxed except for water as you have it now. I have clouds out to the max, full density, and I don't ever see frames in the 15's except in the very worst of conditions in very complex aircraft in big terminals, and even then I rarely see that. If you haven't done this yet, far and away the best improvements for me came with following Bejote's tweaks, in particular his fsx.cfg edits plus Bufferpools = 0 control, plus using FPS Limiter.exe. There is way too much to post directly, but search on those topics and you should be well rewarded. You have a higher end machine than I have (the CPU is a quad?) and I have totally, and I mean totally fluid performance at good frames with excellent image quality.Noel

thanks for those, I'll check those outI have spent pretty much all day yesterday tweeking and now, I'm fairly happy with it. Overall very nice, still gets a tad slow in real heavy areas, I did drop some of my AI down a bit, but ooohh love all the autogen full up, but yes, I could drop that down one notch if I really need to yet..

Ciao!

If you turn off airport vehicle traffic (tugs etc) and road traffic (which looks awful in my opinion anyway) you will get quite a big boost too.

Cheers, Andy.

I agree!Reduce AI 50% or less, AG to Dense, and reduce car traffic 5% or less. You will see a dramatic increase in performance without loss of eye candy.
