Nope, keep guessing, but here's a clue; the aircraft type has something to do with the American Revolutionary War (aka the American War of Independence).Al

Winner! - it is indeed a Piper Saratoga - a name that is significant in American independence. The historians among you will know that the second Battle of Saratoga proved to be the turning point in the war with the British, when General Burgoyne ended up surrendering his army to the Americans as a direct result of being roundly thrashed by them at Saratoga. Ironically, the American victory was largely a result of the actions of Benedict Arnold. Arnold later became a turncoat, secretly joining up with the Brits and plotting to surrender West Point to them.Al

Happy birthday to you, happy birthday to you, happy birthday dear america, happy birthday to you!

Saw something interesting watching the Fireworks over Washington on TV last night. The fireworks were being launched from the western portion of the Reflecting Pool near the Lincoln Memorial. Aircraft though were still landing via the River approach on Runway 19 at DCA. I would think that would be a little too close and they would have closed that runway during the show. Regardless the passengers on the left side were treated to quite a sight from the air and being that close!

Thanks

Tom
