That one has me confused, too. It definitely sounds like it was put in intentionally, but what the heck is it ...? :(
That's what I'm wondering! I've been clicking different things to figure out what it is!!!

Hey All,In regards to everything brought up (not necessarily in order):1. The rectangle block in shots 3 and 8, shows up when the lights are in the OFF and ON positions. Furthermore, it DOES NOT show up at night.2. The weird three-nav light thing still shows up under the tip tank. Also, lights look great at night, but, it's almost as if 2 different light effect sets are showing up at once. a. When beacon is on, it's like the taxi light blinks with it, showing up on the ground but not on the model b. The effect landing lights look great, but as in (a) above, it's like there is another effect going on, showing on the ground also.3. Props still spin when loading, during day and night.4. FPS seems to be a bit improved at night versus day.5. Using full PFactor and Torque settings via FSX, the plane actually exhibits less of what I discussed in the earlier posts! I don't know why that is, but I'll take it, as the plane is more flyable, in fact close to joyful! Landing is the easiest part for me...!! Also, +3 rolls (right) of right rudder trim for take off, back to +1 for climb, seems to work great and is how I fly the Caravan (sort of, we are CONSTANTLY running rudder trim. Any time it's climbing, descending, turning, losing and gaining speed).6. Clickspots in the VC (the yoke) work right, as do the 2D ones. The 2D ones are what I mistook in earlier posts.7. A new one. Sometimes in the VC when not doing anything, I'll hear a mechanical chirp sound. I have not been able to figure out what causes it! I realize that is not much help!Thats if for now! Going to get caught up on sleep! I look forward to this beauty being cleaned up just a bit, and then i'll recreate my 4 day, 4300nm time building 310 trip! I'd love to see this plane, the exact paint as the Songbird (the one I did the Cross Country in): here and here!@Tierborn...see number 5, oddly enough....!@Tom, no I didn't see that! Thanks for bringing it to my attention! (It was VERY late last night dealing with this :()
I solved all of this by installing acc pack, I had no Idea that I bought it.... There is something wrong there I already told them this over milviz forums I tink is going to be easy to identify now, its proven now that it wont work without acc

It's a test intentionally put in to find out who doesn't read the manual(s)......as the "chuff" sound is explained on page 111... :( I'm just kidding about the "test" of course! :( If the "Door Seal" switch is left in the "off" position, every thirty seconds you will hear a "chuff" sound, which is the pneumatic door seal system purging excess pressure from the tank. Hey Steve,I'm not sure about this! It may be best to contact Flight1 directly to get an answer, as they'd know more than anyone.Flight1 SupportLicensingLive Chat and Ticket SupportHope that helps
Thanks, yeah I looked at their support forum and registered but so far I have not received any confirmation e-mail, so I can't post my question. I read all their licensing policy stuff and I think I understand that some products are tied to the machine they are downloaded to and some are not. Also, they have software available to transfer the license to a non-internet machine. I just want to know which one of these is the case for the C310R.Steve

Steve, you can download and purchase the product, then install on another computer quite easily using the Flight1 Transfer program. The C310R is not tied to any specific machine.

Good to know Bill! It'll be interesting to see of the Accel pack addon works for me too!

Good to know Giorgio! I hope that MilViz and Flight1 put it up that Acceleration IS required. That SP2 only will not work. And that to use the G1000 you need at least Deluxe.I hope for MilViz's sake, that they work on a fix for this, because they could potentially lose a lot of customers if they only make it available to Acceleration!

Mea culpa, mea maxima culpa. During the time I had this in my hands for rigging and coding, I had tested the release extensively on what I (mistakenly) thought was an FSX+SP2 installation. Even though all the .exe files clearly show "SP2," it turns out that my Vista machine was gleefully acting as though I were running the Acceleration version...Since reading the early reports of various issues, I've now confirmed that Acceleration "fixed more" than previously believed by everyone. Many "non-Acceleration specific" things (such as Attachpoints and boned-skined animations) simply do not work with SP2... <sigh>I am in the process of trying to find a workable solution for those who do not have Acceleration installed.

I use a Microsoft Force Feedback 2 with a twist control rudder. Even though it's a little challenging to steer the 310 down the runway, it is totally do-able, and it is absolutely NO challenge to keep her flying straight and true. Yes, rudder pedals might work easier, but it certainly not that difficult to have a totally immersive experience with this plane and all others that I fly. I wouldn't change the Force Feedback experience for anything, and I'm going to go to EBay right now and order another one...just as a backup. I sure hope that someday, there is a force feedback yoke for FSX (don't know why someone hasn't produced one yet...there's force feedback steering wheels for racing games!). When that yoke appears, I'll take my rudder pedals out of the closet and use them again. The Cessna 310 works GREAT with my twist rudder.Stan

Bill, it takes a gentleman to be willing to admit his mistakes in public! :)In addition to what Bill wrote above, Colin is immediately changing the requirements section to say that you need SP2 + Acceleration for the airplane to work as intended. The long term solution is that we (really Bill) are going to work up optional models of the aircraft designed to work with SP2 without Acceleration. But, obviously that is going to take some time. If I may offer a personal recommendation ... if you don't have Acceleration, it is well worth the price in my personal opinion, and it seems clear now that all of these myriad of problems experienced were the result of the absence of Acceleration. Beyond that overall recommendation, if you really want the full measure of existing features on this C-310R, then Acceleration is the best way to go.Obviously, we feel very badly for this mistake and apologize for any frustrations and inconveniences you paying customers have already experienced.Cheers,Ken

I couldnt agree more Stan. The MSFFB2 is an amazing joystick. Ive tried two yokes and both were sticky and made flying a chore. Ive tried a hotas stick set with rudder pedals and after a short time, went back to my MSFFB2. it really is an amazing joystick and works great with this plane as well as any others ive flown in FSX. The force feed effects work great in Rise of Flight too. Rob

Thanks Bill, good to know, but I thought the transfer program was used to transfer the license that is used when a software IS tied to a machine so it can be used on another.Sorry to be somewhat dense headed but I've read the docs on the "Flight 1 Wrapper System" and here is what I think is supposed to happen with the C310R download. 1 I download the EXE2 I run it and purchase the 310.(On the internet machine)3 I receive some files put in C:\Milvis(or something similar) which contain the key4 ..and here's where I am a bit foggy.. I take move this folder to my FSX system and ????IS their an exe in this downloaded file to run, or what?Really looking forward to flying her and thanks again.Steve

Just as a help to other inexperienced pilots, like myself, I found that emptying the external tanks makesfor a more docile aircraft. So, until you've got her under control, fly with empty external tanks andthe first three choices under Aircraft Realism set to maximum. (Yes, including torque)

Bert,That's actually a characteristic of the real Cessna 310R! Except you get the benefits when the main fuel tanks (tip tanks) get down to halfway. One benefit you can get from the virtual copy of this aircraft vice the real one, is that FSX cannot replicate one aspect of the real plane. If you lose an engine, all the fuel in the associated auxilary fuel tank is unaccessible! This is because the pumps needed to transfer fuel from the aux tanks to the engine are powered by the engine on the same side the tank is on!Another characteristic is that unburned fuel from the aux tank is always transfered to the associated main fuel tank -- FSX cannot do that also! This means that if you fail to first burn at least 10 gallons from the main tank, and you select the aux tank, you may end up puking fuel into the atmosphere because the transfer pump will send to the main tank and push it out via the bypass overpressure valve! In other words, your technique will work great in the virtual aircraft, but would be a very unsafe idea in the real one! LOL!!BTW: If you are seeking a true challenge in FSX, fill up the main tanks, and then after you takeoff and are climbing out, shut down the left engine! LOL!!! That sloshing fuel in the main tank will cause a "significant" yaw to say the least, and it is just like it would be in the real airplane! That's why you have to be "on it" during takeoff and being ready in your mind for an engine failure on takeoff and initial climbout. You have to immediately step on the correct rudder to counter the yaw, or the plane could get itself into a flat spin, especially if you let the speed bleed down to "red line" which is the red radial line on the airspeed gauge at 80 KIAS.In my opinion, this is one of the very finest FSX aircraft to learn what flying a high performance piston twin is really all about! Not saying it constitutes actual flight training -- not saying that at all. But, it does, in my view, promote realistic habit patterns.Cheers,Ken

After your payment is validated, you will receive a key file. Copy both the downloaded file and the key to your non-internet computer.Use this key to "unlock the wrapper" and extract the actual installer executable.Once "unwrapped," the installer program should run and allow you to continue installation.

You are aware that what you are calling the "external tanks" are actually the main tanks. The aux tanks are in the wing lockers... ;)
