No surprise at all when you realise the panel/gauges were coded by Bill Leaming - the same guy of Eaglesoft "fame"... In fact judging from the user names in the support forum, MilViz seems to be a new "branch" of Eaglosoft... !!!
In this instance you are completely incorrect in your assumption, as anyone who owns the product could quickly verify. The heaviest hit on performance is caused by the extremely hi-res textures used. Comment out the entire 2d gauge system, load the a/c and note that there is no significant change in average framerates.

Is there a 1024 option for the vc and textures? I think that's where I might have the problems...It's why I've held off for now... a lot of people are reporting similar fps to the Duke, which is one of my favs, but does hit the FPS a bit more than most planes.

Ryan, the main $VC is already set for 1024^2, and the secondary $VC is 512^2. As far as that goes, pretty much only the "glass screens" are drawn via the $VC entries, and two very tiny $VC (64x64) sections that enable the instrument lighting.Everything else in the VC is 3d modeled, and every polygon gets its textures from one of the seven cockpitn.dds bitmaps. I haven't myself tried downsizing those seven textures, so I can't even begin to guess what the end result might be.

Hey all. I just finished uploading the 1024 textures to our servers. They can be found on our forum here: http://www.milviz.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=21&t=566 . Please backup your current texture folders just in case you wish to go back for whatever reasons.

Thanks Steve! I've found she runs a lot better in Acceleration! The only issue I'm seeing is the one of the weird 4 sided shape in the distance! As referenced in one of my pictures!

What was the point of Gabe grinding an axe? I have seen nothing but great performance from every Eaglesoft addon, as high quality as PMDG. You guys are world class, now go make us a Gulfstream please :)

Hey PD400. The shape in the distance is an artifact due to the landing lights. That is being worked on as we speak. We have seen it in quite a few screens depending on the angle and such.

For those trying to get to the MilViz website, there is trouble with the MilViz server and they are in touch with the ISP. The main guy at MilVis also just had a newborn baby arrive also! So in the mean time, feel free to post 310R questions at simforums.com in the support forum there.

Thanks,

Fortunately, in this case at least, it was not hackers.Colin was in the hospital with his wife and newborn daughter and his ISP had some technical problems. Obviously, Colin had vastly more important things on his mind that weekend and so was in no position to do anything about it at the time! LOL!!Cheers,Ken
