September 14, 201015 yr B377: busy as heck, constantly monitoring and adjusting everything, temps and pressures, airspeed, navigation. I'd never broken out a sweat on VATSIM before, not even with PMDG's stuff, not before I tried this baby.P-47: Like walking a tight rope, a real balancing act to keep the plane performing well. Hard to taxi (not only temperatures but also view), hard to take off (don't push the engine but you don't want to overrun the runway and the torque is horrible even with TO trim), harder still to land (landing blind and constantly bordering on overheating due to low airflow). J3: Loads of fun, a bit more forgiving, but still a machine you feel the need to take care of.B17: Totally indimidating. I haven't dared taking over complete control yet. Amazingly immersive, from the engine vibrations ("gee I think the no.3 is riding a bit rough!") to system depth (keep an eye on the electical system). Feels great to fly, docile, but again staying ahead is vital. I wish the B377 had a virtual crew like this baby, that could make it more "survivable" in an online situation to me. A2A along side with PMDG and ORBX are my absolute favourite producers, and that's a lot coming from a complete payware nut. I've tried a LOT of stuff and I'm genuinely afraid to calculate how much I've spent so far. :(
September 14, 201015 yr That looks pretty sweet. I wish they would focus more on Passenger type aircraft though. I find fighter sims like LOCKON the place to go to fly fighters, etc. Dropping bombs on VATSIM just doesn't cut it for me. hehe. But if Accusim got into more things liek DC3,4,6 type planes that would be more up my ally.
September 14, 201015 yr I own all 4 (377, 47, Cub, B17), and I feel all are excellent products that add a lot to the sim. The 377 and P-47 were especially painful to learn as I was always blowing up engines on the 377, and crashing the P-47 on landing.. The P-47 really is a touchy plane. Like said above cannot wait for the P-51 & F-4 Phantom.. Interesting to see PMDG enjoys the products as well. The Stratocruiser is definately a beast.. is very hard to try to manage the systems from the FE station on takeoff, while also simultaniously trying to takeoff.. Is why I am glad for the B-17 they at least let you hand off the RPM/Cowl Flaps/Intercooler Flaps to the Co-pilot. Makes managing takeoffs and inflight emergencies a lot easier not having to worry about those items. Here is a tip for flying the B377 from the captain's seat while ajusting the system settings on the FE's panel. I programmed two of my yoke switches for zooming in and zooming out. It really helps. Give it a try.Yes Accusimed aircraft are fantastic. For me it is accusim or nothing. Now flying outside the flight enveloppe, doing any old thing with your engines will be punished as in real life. Note that you can always switch off accusim when learning to fly. Take care My gallery: http://s1075.photobucket.com/albums/w430/yankeegolf/

Engine management and speed limitations are not forgiving which is great :(

Take careI use CameraDefinitions and HotKeySelect statements to move around the B-377 (actually, ALL my VC's ).I assign the #2 hat switch on my X-45 stick to switch to 4 CameraDefinition setups. In the 377 that takesme to the right seat, FE station, Navigators station and left seat. Using the "spare" hat switch makesit very intuitive andm a flick of my thumb moves me around.BTW, I have all four A2A Accu-Sim aircraft. I'm particularly fond of the B-377 and B-17G. Havingdual Saitek throttle quads to enable individual throttle control of all four engines certainlyfactors in to my enjoyment of those aircraft, coupled with extensive use of the facilitiesin FSUIPC & Lua to program multiple functions to the various switches on my quadrants. I onlyneed to use the mouse for a few functions in those two planes. Paul
September 14, 201015 yr Thanks for the replies, you've convinced me to get the Cub.! I have several hundred hours in the C172 which is why I was looking for that bird, but the Cub sounds like a very realistic experience- besides I'll get to try tail-dragging :)Bruce.I never thought I would get used to tail-dragging, but since I fly their Cub I have problems to go back to "normal". It is so much fun to land in some remote dirt strips and only use a few meters of "runway". And all the things you can do with it. Ok, it a all takes time, nothing to hurry :( -Rodger
September 15, 201015 yr Here's a development preview of the upcoming A2A Accusim P-51 Mustang which shows some of the research that goes into their products.
January 18, 201214 yr I have the P-47 with accu-sim and the B-17 with accu-sim....Both awsome aircraft without accusim, But with accu-sim more realistic flights....Accu-sim makes a great aircraft even better....Well worth the extra money....
January 18, 201214 yr Hello,I have owned two of these products:Piper J-3 Cub : So far, has been my favourite aircraft since I got it! It is a load of fun, with Heidi, its hand starting, and all the realistic awesomeness it contains. There are so many things you can do such as in air starting, standing on your main wheels, landing your tundra tyres on water...and the list goes on. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!Boeing 377 Stratocruiser + Captain of the Ship : This aircraft is quite nice if you like the old airliners. You have your crew, who can help you do all these things that need to be done in such a complicated aircraft! Again, there are the features that A2A amazingly include, such as if you don't have your defroster on at altitude, you will get your windows fogging up! And, realistic engine starting etc.I have written reviews on both these aircraft and I will happily provide them to you (links to the PDFs) if you want via Personal Messaging.Cheers,Clem Happy Flying, Clem Wu Beta Tester for OZx, Iris Simulations and Shade.
January 18, 201214 yr I love the Cub! Possibly the most realistic flying experience I've had in FSX compared to the real world.I'd like the have 377 as well, but the accusim part seems a bit too complex for single pilot operation, so I'm torn. Simmerhead - Making the virtual skies unsafe since 1987!
