FSX issues with Internet Explorer 9 beta

Featured Replies

Installed Internet Explorer 9 beta :(, what a mistake! One issue was that when viewing the Kneeboard in FSX the window was blank. Pressing any of the buttons like Keys configuration rendered no text display. Also some of the graphics appeared washed out. Luckily was able to return back to IE8. FSX seems to be back to normal. :( Understand that IE8 beta had similar issues which were fixed later. Use Internet Explorer rarely, I have been using Mozilla browsers for quite a few years as my default browser. :(

Surely you must expect problems when you install beta versions?

There have been numerous reports of issues like yours when using the IE 9 Beta.Any Beta version of any software is expected to have unsolved problems - that is why it is named Beta - so they can be found and corrected.

You can uninstall the beta - it will be listed as a windows update. Hold down the windows key and press R. Type in appwiz.cpl and press ENTER. Click on View Installed Updates on the left hand side and then scroll down until you find it in the Windows list.

I am using IE9 beta, and yes I have seen some problems. but that is a beta The only problem I have with either my aviation for flight sim sites is with Airliners.net, the categories don't show up. But other than these few problems, IE9 is a BIG improvement. But if I get into a big problem I just bring up Firefox and get done what I can't with IE9 beta.Bob

False.

Keith Sandford.

Chrome is fast, however with multiple tabs open and reloading all, most time out. Looking at the chrome forums it is a known issue and not yet resolved. I've moved over to Safari and it works a charm.

False.
Uh no, it's not false. A ton of independent tests on benchmark sites have confirmed that.

From an end user point of view, this may be true, but to be honest, I have never used it.From a web developer point of view, Google Chrome is a nightmare. Writting web pages that work both in IE & Firefox is relatively easy, however I have had to do all sorts of tweaks and weird fixes in order for pages to appear properly in Google Chrome which does not read HTML & ASP.NET code the same way IE & FF does.Web standards are nice, but only when a browser respects them. No browser respects them 100%, but Google Chrome seems to respect them far less than IE & FF.My .0000005 cents.
