September 20, 200322 yr I have but i stupidly forgot to back up the paints I was working on... if i had the ability id kick myself in the arse :)
September 20, 200322 yr As long as there's room for both, I'm keeping both.... FS2002 may be archived....when FS2006 is released :)-John
September 20, 200322 yr With three thousand wonderful aircraft and over one thousand sceneries in FS2002? It stays. Plus, I can fly in FS2002 whereas FS2004 remains a slide show for me with the new weather engine, much as I love it.Mark "Dark Moment" Beaumonthttp://www.swiremariners.com/newlogo.jpg _________________________ Mark "Dark Moment" Beaumont VP Fleet, DC-3 Airways Team Member, MAAM-SIM
September 20, 200322 yr I deleted FS2002 before I even bought FS9. I did however copy all my addon aircraft to CDs first. I have not regretted the decision, infact after installing a new external 120GB HD I now have it loaded on both.I just copyed the intire folder from one drive to the other. One to keep original and one to play around with.Steve A
September 20, 200322 yr I deleted it, but im putting in back on.Cant use FS9 for real world approach practice because of the tough to get ceiling. Actually I just decided to delete FS9. Im going to sell it to a friend who wants it. I only use the sim for approach practice and I cant get a solid cloud deck without maxing out 3D clouds and dropping to 10FPS. The panels are the same in 2002 so thats really all I need.If only there was some way to get a solid cloud deck with simple clouds. Major screw up on the part of the developers unless it turns out that its a videocard issue or the like.P4 2.4Ghz512MBGeforce 4 128mb Ti 4400
September 20, 200322 yr I also have both installed. I have to use FS2002 if I ever want to go anywhere near a big city or want AI traffic in the air with me.FS9 I use for bush flying. (In fact, I feel a bit like an outcast in FS9 -- banned from cities and forced to fly through empty skies...)There's one other complication: I get my alternate realities mixed up: 'Now, did I leave the Learjet in Reno, or am I flying the Caravan in Mombassa' :-)BlairCYOW
September 20, 200322 yr Well, I have to say I thought about it, however, after experiencing 2004 run very well and then begin to slow down to 1-2 fps and having to reinstall it twice now to cure that problem, I think I'll keep 2002 awhile. It would be nice to think that after I get my new system running, (see Warning, ZipZoomFly), that 2002 could be put to rest, but not just yet.Best to all,Clayton T. September 20, 200322 yr FS2002??? what's that?? LOLGONE!Since I use an outside folder for all my sceneries, I just loaded them all up in FS9, no problems. I found that many of them I didn't need with the new autogen and airports. What a cool deal to fly into my home airport of KDFW and not have it be a slide show (damn Simflyers! LOL)Regards, MichaelKDFWhttp://mysite.verizon.net/res052cd/mybannercva1.jpgCalVirAir International VAwww.calvirair.comCougar Mountain Helicopters & Aviationwww.cgrmtnhelos.com Best, Michael KDFW
September 20, 200322 yr I deleted FS2002 when I installed FS9. I just don't see the reason to keep it around unless you have planes that you just must have that don't work in FS9.If you're having problems with the new weather engine affecting framerates, why not just turn the settings back to 2D clouds only?Nate
September 20, 200322 yr No way. Need an aircraft that comes close to 767 PIC before I start looking for the FS2002 delete button.Gary 9800X3D | 4090 | 64GB | 2+1TB NVME | 2TB SSD | 2TB HDD | 85/50/43” TVs | Quest 3 | DOF H3 Motion Rig | Buttkicker | T.16000M Flight Kit MSFS @ 4K Ultra DLSS Performance FG 80 FPS | VR VDXR Godlike 80Hz SSW | MSFS VR DLSS Quality, Ultra Preset - Windows 11 Acer Nitro 5 | i5-11400H | RTX 3060 6 GB | 32GB DDR4 | 15.6" FHD IPS 144Hz | 2 x 512 GB SSD | Windows 11
September 20, 200322 yr I deleted FS2004 and will stick with FS2002. FS2004 looks nice, but not worth a $2000.00 hardware upgrade to run...RJ
September 20, 200322 yr No way I am getting rid of FS2004 LOL. FS2002 was gone before I even got FS2004.I don't know what I did special, but FS2004 runs beautifully on my 1.2GHz box.
September 20, 200322 yr FS2K2 was a great sim... but it's gone from my hard drive.I'm anxiously awaiting the Meridian and 421C upgrades. But I have not looked back to FS2K2 once since I installed FS9.
