Autopilot doesn't work at all !

Featured Replies

so i bought this pmdg md11 and its autopilot doesnt work. i loaded it in cold and dark mode, then i turned on the battery switch and all buttons and gauges in the cabin, then i turned on the autopilot and nothing happened! aircraft didnt start engines, didnt taxi to the runway, didnt take off... etc... i just paid like $100 for crap that doesnt work?gary bouh

Gary, I'm not sure how to constructively reply to this except to say that you should carefully follow the wonderful first tutorial that's available for this magnificent add-on...most (but not all...) will be revealed. This is NOT an aircraft to load, hit CTL - E, and fly away in.Shame%20On%20You.gif And now you will probably hear from fellow forum posters that this aircraft is about as far from "crap", as you so delicately put it, as one can get.

After all the many years since FS II, the PMDG MD-11 for me is the most fascinating plane ever (even though I cannot exactly tell why). It is lightyears from being crap. Your statement that it doesn't work is completely wrong and only shows that you are in the "gamers" league of simmers and somebody who needs uncomplicated and quick entertainment. Nothing wrong with that, but please don't make false accuses! This software title is everything else than aimed for those "gamers" folks and probably attracts only a minority of simmers. This ultra-complex piece of an add-on needs a whole lot of learning. Be prepared for lengthy studies, it's the simulation of a modern airliner, not of a bicycle. If you cannot accept this, maybe PMDG can offer you a return of your purchase. You won't ever get happy with the product, it is absolutely not for you in this case.

An airplane is supposed to start engines, taxi to the runway and take-off only because you magnanimously turned on all the gauges and the autopilot.. oh boy, I think you have got a lot to learn about airplanes. Start from some basic training Cessna.

Nice try, Troll.

I fly only the md11 nowadays and I can tell you it's far from crap. Did you think to READ the manual before posting 'i don't like it' autopilot doesn't do everything.

Capt. Jack's post must be a wind up, nobody can be that stupid ? Can they ?

Very strange initial post...I just bought this add-on two weeks ago: first flight: after having just read introduction manual and first pages of FCOM (limitations)..in spite off all my mistakes, inappropriate procedures etc etc... she flew my safely from Zurich to Milan Malpensa (with autoland)...stupid pilot but smart airplane indeed :( ..maybe she understood I love planes so she helped me...Now I'm deeply studying at her manuals 'cause being accostumed to Boeings and Airbuses Md11 logic it's a bit strange for me sometimes...anyway great plane!Best RegardsAndrea

It has got to be a wind up... At least I am hoping that it is, since I hope that no one is stupid enough to believe that an autopilot these days does this... maybe in the future who knows...Andrew

He just dropped in for one post to see how many of us thought he was an idiot or a troll.
