Not working for 4 other people, we've all tried it today and are getting a 500 error... we're all from different parts of the world so I doubt it's a router or DNS issue.

Well my friend Sledhead - there's only switches, routers, a few DNS servers and a whole lot of fibre between those that can't access the site. Nothing else - no magic. Here's the trace - the site is up.

... so it has to be a network issue. Talk to your ISP - or open a CMD prompt and type in the tracert command and see where it stops, and how your route differs from mine.

 

Matter of fact - you can also try this website I just found: http://smashinghub.com/10-excellent-website-to-check-a-site-down-or-blocked.htm

 

just type in www.venetubo.com in as many (of the 9 sites) as you want to try, and they will ping the address from their sites, and let you know whether it's your area/region that is having problems.

Hi guys! there was a hardware failure on the server, for some reason filesystem is read-only and any write operations fail. Hosting provider is working on it but I assume it will be tomorrow when they fix it. Sorry for the inconvenience. I should be moving the Tweaking tool to a different server (and domain) in the near future.

 

By the way... I just learned that someone fixed the flashing runways on DX10... thats the most amazing news ever. wish I had time for simming ;) super busy lately ;)

That was a bit unfair to presume, but perhaps myself and others should have explained better; the site worked, but went to the error page after uploading your fsx.cfg

Aaaahhh. mystery solved! I guess this is another problem of not having face-to-face contact!

Hello *******, great product. Thank you for this. I applied the tweaks but when I load up FSX my planes look all messed up. The rest of the graphics are fine it is just my aircraft, e.g. there is see through areas inside the plane and the VC is all messed up. There seems to be something wrong with how the graphics are drawn. Please help.

Bojote's tool points here for feedback. It looks to me that there is a bug in the tool with regard to AffinityMask.

 

If you feed it a cfg with no AffinityMask it does the correct thing: 84 for hyper, 14 for no.

 

If you feed it a cfg that was optimized by the tool for hyperthreading (with mask 84) and tell it you want only 4 cores no hyperthreading it tells you "Congratulations! you have an optimal AffinityMask value!".

 

 

I think it is a common task when you get a new i7 - first with hyper, then hyper off.

 

Great tool, but in future I think it is safer to always feed it the default FSX cfg.
